Jax chuckled a bit when Aveline took offense in him calling her toothless, she was definitely a type of person who won't stand down despite the odds. The Jedi could sense the force flowing inside of her like an Ocean crashing against the shore during a stormy rather than a calm river. However digging deeper, Jax could see a blinding light warm and inviting hidden beneath Aveline. The Jedi gave a soft gasp, the girl had the potential to be a great Jedi but at the same time a feeling of dread filled Jax's body. It was clear the force bought the two together, but why Jax? Why a man who was a Jedi in name only was chosen to train Aveline? With his ways, she could easily fall to the dark side and the Sith, the Dark Jedi, whoever could have a powerful and formidable ally. No, he wasn't worthy to take Aveline on as a padawan he had no experience, no interest in teaching yet the force is drawing him close to her urging Jax to be with Aveline.
"I'm just saying," Jax replied. "That you are raw talent who needs molding, I sense great potential within you Aveline the force is unusually strong within you and I can see inside of you a bright light. Yet you must be careful because the brightest light can yield the darkest shadow."
He sighed when Aveline said that he was a test and vice versa, that was pretty much the reason huh? To test Jax's skills well there was no running away from it. Like Master Oda said there were no coincidences in fate, yet just for once could the force at least listen to what he desires? "You are right Aveline," Jax said. "This is a test for both of us, you will be my first padawan and I have..... unusual views when it comes Jedi philosophy and the force. I'm the type who follows my instinct which will sometimes be at odds with the Jedi code but the living force teaches us to let go of conscious self and rely on instinct which can piss a lot of people off."
The Jedi smiled "the energy of the living force communicates with the midichlorians and tells them its will." he said closing his eyes. "And the midichlorians have told me that you are someone special and that I should teach you the ways of the force away from Jedi doctrine. I can be off the wall at times but given your personality I'm pretty confident that you can handle it."
He offered his hand for Aveline to shake. "Welcome to my world." he said smiling.
