Introduction:
Tira. Nobody had uttered her name for millennia, and now suddenly it was on everyone’s lips. The planet had been the focus of a months-long search, combing archives for information and drawing together clues from across the Galaxy, from Jedha to Lehon to Chandaar. Finally, there was a breakthrough. By cross-referencing ancient starmaps, young scholars from the Sith Academy calculated Tira’s position as the lone, sunless planet crossed into the Galactic disc near the Tapani sector. The Covenant wastes no time. The planet must be theirs. Its legend witnessed, its potential harnessed, its power unleashed.
The Covenant fleet crosses the Runes, the asteroid field that orbits Tira. Its landing ships fall towards the surface. Booted feet step upon the frozen crystalline surface for the first time in thousands of years, the visitors’ eyes straining to see into the endless, snowy night as the aurorae dance above them.
Shortly after arriving on-planet, a group of hooded Sith huddle together in the cold. They gather around the planet’s ancient Force Nexus: The Standing Stone. Over twenty thousand years ago, the scholars of Xim the Despot theorised that Tira’s power could be harnessed and unleashed to ‘flip’ the Living Force signature of Tira, killing the planet and unleashing vast reserves of energy to be harnessed as the wielder desires. This small cabal has assembled to investigate this legend, and to learn how to use it for themselves.

Far above the surface where the traitors gather in the cold, the Tyranny circles the planet like a portent of destruction. Deep inside the ship’s belly, yet another strange gathering is taking place. Inside the ship’s well-appointed Training Hall, fists strike flesh with the wet thunk of meat hitting meat. A dozen dozen duels play out at once. The officers on board have nicknamed it the Nwit-kagha. An imitation of the ancient ritual of Kaggath. Challengers face off in a series of ritualistic duels, fighting their enemy to the floor, but spilling no blood. For some, these fights form part of training, for others, they are a chance to settle scores, gain honour, or escape humiliation. Many fight for the favour of their Lords, sent forth as champions while their Masters look on and bet on their chances.

For some, the plotting and the duelling is secondary to the allure of Tira. The world holds many mysteries and great potential. One such mystery is the planet’s crystalline makeup. Orbital scans indicate that many of Tira’s crystal caves contain rare veins of Kyber crystals. To validate these readings, the Covenant has put together a team of Sith scientists to gather crystal samples and locate the richest Kyber deposits. Beware though, Tira is a world without a star, cold and crystalline and near-inhospitable. Don’t venture out without a rebreather and the right equipment, and don’t travel alone. You never know what could happen out there in the dark.
