  • Description:
    • Most Dangerous Shadowport in the Galaxy:
      • There is an old saying between Spacers: "The brave go to Nar Shaddaa, the schitting stupid go to the Starweird Queen"
      • Of all the shadowports in the galaxy the Starweird Queen Shadowport on Syveris is the most notorious, dangerous, and yet most lucrative (if you survive long enough)
      • This is in part due to its status as a haven and hub for all the Pirates, Privateers, Smugglers, and Raiders in the galaxy
      • The shadowport is run, guarded, and fought over by the various Pirate Lords who consist of the ruling pirate crime ring called the Hydra Pacthold
      • Parts of the Shadowport's major city are sectioned off and lorded over by each Pirate Lord (see Summa-Verminoth City)
      • The Starweird Queen is named after the legendary Starweird Queen and the dangerous creatures she was said to rule, the Starweirds, which have been known to attack small vessels traveling to the shadowport
    • You Can Get Anything Here...For A Price:
      • Many other clandestine enterprises have commercial branch offices, fronts, and black markets housed at the Starweird Queen's Shadowport city
      • Members from networks such as following have some influence in Summa-Verminoth City:

POINTS OF INTEREST
pS5AFSy.jpg
Bleak Halo Anchorage [Asteroid Debris Spacedock Stations]
Drifting in front of the asteroid the shadowport is a large ring of asteroid debris. The debris floats in tractor beam locked orbit over the city below. These large bits of asteroid act as floating anchorages for visiting ships to dock to. Some are privately owned by the Pirate Lords as their own personal spacedocks. Others are for more common use and host a plethora of side shops that deal in ship repair and customization. They also have smaller ports for smaller craft to dock - such as starfighters, personal corvettes, and freighters.

Summa-Verminoth City [The Hanging City of Pirates]
Due to the tilted axis of the former mining asteroid the shadowport is built out of, the arcology of Starweird Queen actually is built hanging. Large spires of clustered towers sprout out of a thick artificial crust of urban sprawl; with their pinnacles pointed down into the black void of space. This vast singular ecumenopolis is named Summe-Verminoth City (or Verm City for short). It is named after the infamous leviathan of the Maw Nebulae. Early spacer and pirate founders of the city named it so because the original plans of the city saw its urban sprawl spread out in meandering tendrils of spires from a center mega-hub like the tentacles of the beast itself. Each tentacle of urban sprawl is known as Tendril Sprawl Zones and act as the distinct City-Wards of the shadowport.
  • LIST OF NOTABLE TENDRIL SPRAWL ZONES:
  • DANCER'S PALACE:
    • The Dancer's Palace is a purple, pink, gold, and blue neon and holo-billboard light drenched entertainment city-ward that stretches a long winding tendril around the entirety of the city. It is the longest of all the Tendril Sprawl Zones and is filled with exactly the sort of establishments one would find in a place named after Dancers.
    • The most numerous of these are Bordello Cantina's, known locally by the slang term: Dancer Dens or Dagger Dens or DD's, due to the well known fact that rival gangs, pirate broods, and other crime rings frequently use them as staging grounds for assassinations.
    • Bordello Cantina's are a hedonistic combination of cantina's, nightclubs, brothels, and a hotel. Often they are split into those functions, with each a separate floor, with the hotel rooms at the upper most levels for patrons to retire to with their "dates".
    • Bordello Cantina's are expensive to stay at and the courtesans that frequent them are even more expensive. The usual rule of them is "the more the credits the better the flowers". So if you are going to spend the night at one, go big or go home.
    • The most expensive, infamous, and luxurious Bordello Cantina's are found in what is known as the Rutian Garter:
      • The Rutian Garter is a ring of Bordello Cantina's (as well as casinos, nightclubs, bars, undercity markets, and fighting pits) within the Dancer's Palace; that is entirely owned, staffed, and worked by retired and working Rutian Twi'lek courtesans (and the courtesans are not all female - in fact throughout it's history many famous male courtesans have rose to rule the Rutian Garter).
      • The entire operation is lead by a Twi'lek Matron/Patron known simply as Lady Xiaan, and her crime ring is known as The Rutian Embrace (many other courtesan crime rings run other districts within the Dancer's Palace, they are all known as Night Courts)
      • It's most famous establishment is the Grand Daesha
      • Each establishment is run by a matron themselves and often is ruled by a court of high ranking courtesans.
      • The most famous courtesan in all of the Rutian Garter is not actually a Twi'lek but a Nautolan named Siren Shiri
      • Despite it's salacious business, the Rutian Garter is run with great care. The courtesans are well protected and rowdy patrons are often kicked out or straight up murdered for going too far.
      • Many great Pirate Lords have had famous Rutian Garter courtesans as lovers.
  • CLANKER'S PROMENADE:
    • The Clanker's Promenade is the second largest of the Tendril Urban Sprawl Zones and it is entirely populated by black market/open market stalls, hubs, and workshops that specialize in droid parts, customization, illicit trading, and modification; as well as sellers for scrap, ship components, and weapon/tech
    • There are also home to a Droid Boxing League; there is a large betting ring attached to the Droid Boxing League - which also includes the usual complications with betting: rigged matches, reprisal attacks outside of the ring, and droid sabotage
  • HYDRA'S COURT:
    • Hydra's Court is the very center of the city - it is the central hub by which all the Tendril Urban Sprawl Zones spout from; as such it is where the Pirate Lords have their Pirate Lord Mansion Towers - towering luxurious pirvate towers bunched together to form a collective tower that rises above the entire city. Each Mansion Tower is owned by one of the Pirate Lords, with the Pirate King/Queen claiming the tallest tower of the lot as their personal residence.
    • MABIN'S THRONE:
      • Looking over the clustered and cluttered towering central sprawl of the Hydra's Court is the very throne room of the entire shadowport - Mabin's Throne. It is here that the Pirate Lords assemble when the Pirate King/Queen calls a Brood (grand meeting of all Pirate Lords).
      • The tower is named after the infamous Galactic Civil War era Pirate Lord Gunda Mabin

SECURITY: Medium
  • "Security" is a strange paradox on the shadowport; the shadowport itself is "policed" by the Pirate Lords and their mercenaries, making sure none of the inhabitant crime rings (and especially other Pirate Lords) get too powerful or commit a crime against the Hydra Pacthold
  • But, despite this policing, the Pirate Lords turn a blind eye to the rampant crime that exists in the shadowport on a lower level; grand-theft-auto, assassinations, theft, extortion, robberies, and murders are common place
  • There are those who counter-balance this infestation of crime - Bounty Hunters are frequent visitors to the shadowport acting as bodyguards or hunting down criminals, therefore, often the threat of a Bounty Hunter reprisal from a victim has become a great deterrent
  • In general all of this leads to a set of unspoken rules that most citizens of the shadowport try to follow:
    1. An-Eye-For-An-Eye Justice
    2. Debts Are Never Forgiven nor Forgotten
    3. Traitors Receive Only One Verdict - Instant Death
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
There has always been a shadowport in the Syvris System. During the times of the Old Republic, The Clone Wars, and the Galactic Empire/Civil War, this was the Syvris Shadowport. However, in 3 ABY the port was destroyed by Imperial Forces under the execution of an Imperial Death Squadron- by the ancient Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. The surviving spacers would converge and search for a new home. To spite the Dark Lord, this new nomad fleet was named Vader's Bane. This nomadic state would last for generations as they would drift from world to world in Wild Space. During the Galactic Civil War and the founding of the New Republic - the nomad fleet would return to Syvris having amassed a great and powerful pirate fleet - having turned to piracy long ago to survive.

The Imperial Remnant in Syvris would be driven out by Vader's Bane and the shadowport on the abandoned asteroid base Dracon V would be established. At first it was named - Vader's Bane Shadowport. However, this would not last long. During an expansion of the shadowports newly founded city - Summe-Verminoth City - a mining expedition into the asteroid disturbed a previously undetected nest of Starweirds. The Starweird swarm plagued the city for a generation before it was purge out of the asteroid and driven to infest other areas of the asteroid fields around Syvris. From that point onward the asteroid and shadowport were given the morbidly humorous name of Starweird Queen Shadowport. However, soon there would be a far worse plague.

The Starweird Queen wasn't always designed to be a haven of crime and villainy. It was originally supposed to be a haven for those running from the Empire and the chaos of its fall. A refuge from the chaos of the galaxy. A quiet place where spacers and their crews could ride out the battles that raged after the fall of the Empire. But, come the establishment of the New Republic and its enforcement of hyperlane security by the New Republic Fleet, a different, far worse refugee arrived to the shadowport - Pirates. It was during the end of the Resistance-First Order War that Pirate Fleets first began to arrive at the Starweird Queen. Early on they were welcomed as much needed security and hired privateers against the incursions of the First Order.

But, gradually their power began to grow as more and more pirate fleets arrived. All of this would reach its dark climax when the various fleets were combined into the First Dread Pirate Armada under a Chevin Pirate King - Ephant the Cruel. Since then the Hydra Pacthold was formed. A confederate crime organization of Pirate Lords and their Pirate Fleets. Under their rulership the shadowport was transformed into the infamous den and haven of scum and villainy it is known today. The most recent Pirate King was a Feeorin Pirate named Nymjak Dread. However he was assassinated by his own crew. However his adopted daughter Qorzan, has recently returned with her father's ship and has launched a counter coup to become the Pirate Queen of the Starweird Queen Shadowport. The civil war after the death of Nymjak has severely depleted the pirate fleet force at Starweird Queen - Queen Qorzan has to now rebuild the fleet and return it to its terrifying former glory.
