DESCRIPTION

Built to specification by Darth Carnifex, the Firespray-47-class Patrol and Attack Craft was a uniquely produced variant of the Firespray line of pursuit craft often used by bounty hunters and law enforcement. Made exclusively for the Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Koda Fett, the vessel was built at the Malsheem shipyards and was named the Spear III by Fett himself. The Spear III was gifted to Fett following his re-employment as a bounty hunter on Carnifex's payroll.
Because the Spear III was one-of-a-kind, the technicians and engineers involved in its construction were able to cram the craft full of the most cutting edge technologies at their disposal. The hull was a complicated mixture of quadanium, durasteel, and impervium which made the hull extremely durable against blaster fire and kinetic damage. An overlapping deflector shield system was also installed to further coat the Spear III in a protective cocoon. Fuel-efficient engines were also used to grant the Spear III unmatched speed and maneuverability for a vessel of its size, outpacing most starfighters utilize by the reigning galactic governments of the era. Strategically placed nacelles enabled the craft to make hairpin turns without much loss of inertia.
For combat systems, the Spear III was excessively well-armed. A pair of swiveling twin cannons were mounted on the long trunk extending down from the craft's fuselage, which could be switched from blaster to ion settings at the pilot's discretion. These cannons could also be independently rotated, allowing both to fire in different directions simultaneously. Two rapid-firing laser cannons were installed directly under the cockpit canopy, which was extremely effective at close-range dogfighting. A single dual laser cannon was mounted on the back of the fuselage which could be used to fire on pursuing vessels, although its range was rather limited as it could neither move up or down very far from its standard position.
Four variable warhead launchers were installed on the Spear III, two closer to the cockpit while the other two were further down on the trunk. These could be outfitted with any number of munitions, such as concussion missiles, proton torpedoes, cluster missiles, ion missiles, multi-lock missiles, and goliath missiles. A moderate-strength tractor beam projector was installed to be primarily used for ship boarding, as the Spear III could hold an immobilized ship in place to allow for ship-to-ship contact. Lastly, the Spear III was equipped with a rear-mounted minelayer which could be outfitted with a variety of munitions, such as seismic charges, ion mines, proton mines, proximity mines, and seeker mines.
Besides the various offensive capabilities of the Spear III, there were just as many non-combat systems. Such systems included a cloaking device, decoy system, sensor mask, sensor jammers, anti-ion emission tracers, and boarding harpoons. Countermeasures included chaff launchers to confuse tracking, seeker warheads to lock onto pursuing warheads, and a sensor inverter to turn an enemy's warhead against them. The crew compartment of the Spear III was designed to be minimalistic and spartan, with a resting area, combined food preparation and dining nook, refresher, and a brig with six holding cells. These holding cells were designed to not only hold standard prisoners but Force Sensitives as well, as the Sith put their decades of anti-Jedi research into practice in designing the cells.
A class 0.5 hyperdrive was installed on the Spear III, allowing it to make quick time during hyperspace travel. To compensate for any deficiencies or malfunctions in the primary hyperdrive, a secondary one was installed with a class rating of 10.
When landing, the Spear III utilized gyroscopic mechanisms to fold the long ventral trunk up against the main fuselage. Specialized landing gear then extended to complete the landing process. A boarding ramp then extended from the rear of the fuselage to allow for the movement of people and cargo in and out of the vessel. If need be, the Spear III could also lang on the edge of a landing pad and let its ventral trunk hang off the side.
