GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: The Sorority for Liberty
  • Classification: Loosely formed gang
  • Affiliation: Natalie LaForte
  • Organization Symbol: Listed above. (It should be noted that obviously the gif is for this entry and is not replicated in real life inscriptions.)
  • Description: On the streets of Nar Shaddaa one might suspect a group of roving ghoulish individuals to be among the other scum committing petty crimes in order to sustain their pathetic lives. Well, they do the whole street crime thing, but are also fixated on ritualistic burials, even when space is an issue.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Nar Shaddaa
  • Domain: The Sorority can mainly be found on the walkways of Nar Shaddaa. The members litter like insects and pests, ready to leap on whatever target they deem necessary. Some more sophisticated members are known to only be associated with the disposing of deceased corpses, and are more respected, generally noticeably by their more regal variant of clothing compared to their contemporary scum.
  • Notable Assets: N/A
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
Mother - The supposed founding member of The Sorority. It is told in legends that she is a powerful force entity that has managed to transfer herself into several bodies many times over, so much so that she has managed to sever her connection to the force. These are legends for a reason.
  • Premier - The second hand to Mother, who essentially manages the official running of the organization's political wing. As of now, that includes doing nothing.
  • Crown Mara - The current 'heir' to the position of Mother. By no coincidence this position is always held by a female, but by technicality it could be held by a male.
  • Everybody else

[*]Membership: The Sorority's membership totals at anytime to around 10,000 members, most of which are drop outs of various academic institutions or have saught refuge on Nar Shaddaa from anyone pursuing them. There is no official joining process as there is no official 'centralized' command, apart from a general acknowledgement of the leader, so people are invited simply by socializing and hanging out with already existing members.
[*]Climate: Generally, the feeling is positive towards most other members. This may be due to selection bias as only members who were previously liked before joining are able to join, and generally members don't fall out or have more grievous difficulties that would be toxic for the organization.
[*]Reputation: Despite some interactions of petty theft and street crime, the overall reputation is positive. Many communities are known to seek out group member's advice and assistance in disposing of their dead, and have reputation of keeping the streets clean as far as deceased corpses go.
[*]Curios: There's no real uniformity in terms of the organization's membership. They all adhere to a similar aesthetic design and hang out in groups, making it easy to tell if it's someone in fancy dress or a member of the political cult. Members who regularly associated with the leaders of the gang may be branded with a 'Mark of Eterna', a Sith Rune that while providing no power to the individual directly, was able to be acted on by those experienced in ritual magic to improve their abilities and skills.
[*]Rules: The only pervading rule is a general set of loyalty to 'Mother', along with members needing to hold a respect for the dead. It could also be argued there is an unwritten rule of adhering to the group's style, though there is no real punishment for breaking this.
[*]Goals: The primary purpose of the sorority is to encourage a respectfulness to the dead not really seen on some planets. The belief is that this respectfulness generates positive energy, that will lead to a reawakening of the Mother's powers.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Sorority is a group combining two other predecessors, that being 'The Sorority for Liberty', a feminist communist organisation seeking to bring equality to the streets of Nar Shaddaa, and 'The Hopeless Sorority', a group fixating on tending to the dead souls of Malachor V following the invasion of it by several galactic powers, whom threatened the planet with stellar bombardment, leading to the death of many sentients. The 'marriage' of sorts came from Natalie LaForte, originally a millionaire who's interests in doing such were in the realm of expanding her outreach, but now uses her excess of free time, no longer restrained by the bindings of her corporate overlords to assist those who share in their beliefs. The two groups actually do share some commonality, and many years ago were united, with the majority of its membership moving to Nar Shaddaa due to escalating tensions on Malachor V.

The group was originally founded by 'The Mother', Olivia Cykes who espoused herself as a prophet among mere mortals. While she is indeed a force sensitive, her powers are limited to that of a Padawan and she isn't even particularly skilled at that, only able to conjure minor auditory and visual illusions. Using what she innately had, and instead of seeking a master to train her, she has manufactured a web of lies to essentially suggest she is the most powerful force user in the galaxy, and suggests the organization itself has its roots in history to almost a millennia ago. Olivia blames the weakness of the Sorority on her own lack of power (currently), as she has in her own words "Been wrought by the transferring of my essence a hundred or more times". She currently claims the group's attempts at benevolently treating the dead with the respect not normally afforded to them, that she will be enlightened once more in order bring about her ultimate plan.

The truth of these claims are unverified, and there is a large portion of the membership that are apathetic to Olivia's ultimate goals (that is restoring her power), but still respect her for her previous work.
