- Sippity Sip Sip: One can fill the skull with all manners of liquids, and thus can drink from it.
- Focus of Dark Side Energy: In life Karin Dorn was a talented Sith Sorceress, able to call upon all manners of magic with great proficiency. In death most of her power had been drained and absorbed by her murderer, but an echo of her power lingered on in the last scrap of her physical remains.
- Eldritch Whispers: Intertwined with that sliver of power was a fragment of Karin Dorn's consciousness, which occasionally manifests itself as succulent whispers that tempt the weak-willed to commit vile atrocities in her name.

Long ago the sorceress Karin Dorn ruled over the turbulent planet of Thule until her rule came to an abrupt end when a young Sith by the name of Kaine Zambrano defeated her in single combat, casting her down from the Temple of Hurom. Years would pass as Karin's ghost haunted the empty halls of the Temple, ultimately leading Kaine to bring her back through a dark profane ritual. However; events would transpire that would ignite old hostilities between Karin and Kaine leading to the latter to kidnap Karin's daughter, Evelynn, and hold her hostage in an attempt to draw Karin out of hiding.
A battle ensued in Kaine's throne room at Thule, and by the end of the exchange Karin was at his mercy. In an act of ultimate cruelty he severed Karin's head in full view of her daughter, and flayed the flesh from her skull with his dark power. Afterwards he coated the skull in silver and turned it into a goblet for him to drink out of as a show of power and a trophy to commemorate his victory.
After the destruction of the House of Dorn at Lianna, Kaine commanded that Cristoff Dorn (the only survivor of the massacre) to routinely polish and shine Karin Dorn's skull for the rest of his life.
