OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Simulacrum
  • Classification: Meditation Room/Research Facility
  • Location: Jaemus
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Accessibility:
Private Access Only | Open only to research personnel as well as Sith. Permission is required to enter the premise if they lack clearance.
  • Security:
Medium Level Security | Though it is not a largely critical and vital structure to the Sith Empire's or Jaemus' operations, it still maintains a decent level of security to keep any civilians and unwanted visitors out. Jaemus Security Forces maintain regular patrols around the Simulacrum in order to keep intruders out.
  • Description:
The exterior of the structure is a large, black cube-shaped building, spanning roughly two city blocks in length, width, and height that floats at fifty feet off the ground. There is only a single entrance to the Simulacrum, located on its underside and the only way up into it is via a gravlift. Apart from the fact that it floats, the Simulacrum lacks any discernable features or characteristics as far as buildings go. The outer layer of the Simulacrum is a spectating area for researchers and scientists to make their observations of those using the Simulacrum. A majority of the structure, however, is an open space that can be manipulated to simulate the environment of the participants' memories.

POINTS OF INTEREST

  • The Preparation Chamber | The Preparation Chamber is a staging area to 'prime' or prepare participants for their dive into the Simulacrum. A number of stimulants are injected into the subject to elevate their subconscious and bring forth even the oldest memories into a vivid simulated reality.
  • The Simulation Chamber | The core aspect of the Simulacrum's design, the Simulation Chamber is a large open area that can simulate any and all environments that reside within the participant's memory. This includes gravitational, environmental, and atmospheric controls to simulate a fully immersive and within 99% accuracy of the memory.
  • Observation Ring | The Observation Ring is a large observation platform that is hidden behind the simulated walls that give an unrestricted view of the simulated memory for analysis and study. This is where a number of researchers and scientists typically reside to take note of all that is observed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Simulacrum was a structure initially designed for the purposes of interrogation as it allowed the ability to observe and replicate one's memories. The structure has since then been repurposed for research purposes as it gave scientists within the Sith Empire a directive to venture further into the ability to recreate past events for study. Since its creation, the scientists and engineers responsible for the creation of the Simulacrum have made significant strides in the field of study and have been able to further optimize its ability to accurately depict the past. Many Sith have used the Simulacrum as a substitute of the Force Power Memory Walk which could help in fueling their power by having them relive events where they swore vengeance or sought power, others simply use it for the simple purposes of meditation and training. Whatever the reasoning, the Simulacrum is able to bring up a past event and modify it on the fly to have a different result through its advanced design that can replicate everything down to the environment or individuals within the memory.

The Simulacrum primes its subjects via a series of injections that make the subconscious much more clear and thus able to sift through the mind with more clarity and ease. Once the subject has been primed they are attached to a rig that can simulate movement through an environment such as freefall or leaping large distances within the center of the Simulacrum without them actually making contact with the floors or walls in order to further elevate the immersed reality that they have been put in. A neural interface reads the subject's mind and projects the environment to the Simulacrum for simulation. Everything down to sight, touch and smell can be replicated with a 99% simulation. From there it is a matter of the subject moving about in the simulated reality whilst the scientists and researchers analyze and observe.
