Bag of Tricks (Versatile Ship Systems)
The Shadow Hammer has a lot of systems that are highly advanced packed into one light freighter. Between the pop-up light laser cannons, the two turrets, concussion missiles, the speed of the ship, its above average attributes, and the ship’s IFF spoofer, the ship is easily able to serve as a courier ship, a gunship, a dropship, and a viable dogfighting combatant. On top of that, it is still a light freighter, so it has the storage to transport equipment as well.
Custom Hyperdrive
The Shadow Hammer has a custom built hyperdrive by the engineers of Interstellar Starship Technologies. It is designed to fire up quickly and smoothly when in duress. It boasts a very fast hyperspace speed.
WEAKNESSES
Stressing Me Out (Core Balance)
With all the “surprises” that the Shadow Hammer packs, it draws from its core often, stressing the core when all of the systems are active at once. The pilot has to ensure that not all the systems are going at once, severely limiting its versatility and forcing it to “specialize”, depending on the task. While it is possible have all the systems going at once (full shields, all ordinance, all sensors, etc,), the core is prone to shut completely down when doing so.
Junk in the Trunk
From The Shadow Hammer's unique design, it performs at a very high level when in space flight, however, when in atmospheric flight, the awkward, hammer-head shaped light freighter, dips significantly in its maneuverability.
DESCRIPTION
Slayn & Korpil have not made many forays into the starship production field. However, the ships they have produced have seen some success…but that is not always the case. They made a foray into the Light Freighter market by producing a limited number of A/LF Sledge Light Freighters. The hammerhead shaped ship ran into a slew of defects in its first run. Afraid their stellar reputation would be tarnished, Slayn & Korpil pulled production of the vessel. However, if a dedicated engineer and mechanic took the time to replace the defective parts (the process is not cheap), then the pilots of these vessels find out exactly how much they love them…
