The Senate Convenes

John-Carter-Concept-Art-4-940x539.jpg
Ession~Dominion Senate Hall~10:00
The summons had been dispatched, the topics decreed, and the dates assigned. It was yet again time for The Dominion's Senate to come to session. With the disappearance of the Archlord and his Lord Minister, his duties and responsibilities now fell to The Dominion's Senatorial representatives. For the first time in months the halls were dimmed and lit with torches. Throughout the halls The 1st Senatorial Brigade held a watchful guard, their mission was to keep the gathering delegates safe from any possible harm.

A smoky fog of political greeting washed over the grand hall as the earliest arrivals made their entrance. Old friends greeted each other with large smiles, old enemies meeting each other with even larger ones. Chatter ensued, gossip began, and not before long the entire hall had met a rather unceremonious uproar of conversation. Of course this was to be expected, speech was the currency of politics and most of the people here knew the trade well.

A large walkway connecting to the ground led the Senators to their seats. A small, yet comfortable, bench with a built in terminal was supplied for each group of representation. Space for guardsmen and servants was even supplied in the rear of the walkway, where they were gifted with stools and chairs to take their load off.

From the walkway one could peer down to the center of the hall, where a bright light shined down into a keen spotlight. Normally the Archlord himself would take position in this spotlight, however no one expected such a display. Instead, today it was the Speaker of the House, who normally served as Master of Ceremonies for such an event. An aged, yet vibrant, Twi'lek by the name of Larish Onahk. His blue skin seemed to shine over his bony figure as he stood at the podium, awaiting the hall to come to order.

With a curious gaze, Adron glanced down at the Twi'lek , taking note of the almost eccentric energy he had beaming from him. "A politician if I've ever seen one." The young Lord stated, drawing on the irony of his own political position as he spoke.

As the Acting Commander of the 2nd Sector Army, Adron's appearance in the meeting was not optional. He had hoped to send Anya, in his place to represent Serenno, yet the speaker frowned on such an action and voiced his disapproval. A servant to the senate the young Count found himself in attendance. Glancing over to Anya, he tapped the hilt of the ceremonial vibroblade that was at his fingertips. "I get the feeling this will be a long one, make sure I don't fall asleep, please." He joked, though in truth he had always found such meetings to be a bore, yet a necessary bore at that.

The Speaker of the House tapped the microphone in front of him, smiling up at the hall as it finally fell into a respectful silence. His croaked voice came into the mic as a whisper but was projected with a mighty volume. "Senators of The Dominion, thank you for joining us this evening for a special session of congress. I trust you all had pleasant trips here and are being properly accommodated. Now, there are a great many things to be discussed so let us get underway if we do not want to be here for the next three days." A small mumble of approval was given from the Senate as things finally came underway.

Politics, something she wasn't quite fond of and honestly found it annoying, however she was had to attend with adron as his body guard and maybe at least get a understanding of the politics going on within the dominion. So she had put something nice on that underneath hid her armor and weapons, which included her saber and a blaster pistol. She looked out among the people hearing the chatter and such, she was quite glad she wouldn't have to speak if any at all probably wpuld be very little

She perked up as she looked over at him and chuckled looking out as she spoke low

that is if I don't fall asleep first, which is unlikely on the clock ya know

She gave a chuckle then looked out as the speaker started to speak, she couldn't help but grin, she really hoped it didn't take as long but she didn't know politics ata 'll so she couldn't really say

Lucien wiped his brow as the sun beat down upon him. He was out of his armor and missed the internal air conditioning, but today’s mission required a more subtle approach. An approach with a face that let the people know he was human. He and a hundred Angeli Mortis had come to convene on the senators council. It was a show of force if ever there was one and should the Angeli Mortis choose to do anything, who could stop them? The troopers marched up the steps abreast one another and entered the senatorial building. Senators and servants guffawed at such a sight. That a small army would be able to enter the building unopposed was unthinkable.

At the head of the column the general of the Angeli Mortis himself. The senatorial guards attempted to bar the path for all but a moment. After receiving an angry glare from Lucien that said he did not play games they quickly stepped aside and bowed low for him. The troops marched through the grand halls of the building. Bust of the lords who had given their lives in service of the Dominion lined the walkway and grand pillars stood next to those. It was a beautiful building that had stood almost since the beginning of the Dominion, but as senators whispered amongst each other about the encroaching army they wondered how much longer did the building have?

The troops entered the orators room where a twi’lek was beginning to give a rousing speech. The troops began to take up places amongst the senators and Lucien walked to the center stage and the Twi’lek eyed him curiously. Lucien snatched the mike from the alien and the creature sputtered in utter disbelief. A pair of Angeli Mortis escorted the man from the stage and Lucien prepared to speak.

“The people of the Dominion have spoken. Condemn me. It does not matter. History will absolve me. I am not interested in power nor do I envisage assuming it at any time. All that I will do is to make sure that the sacrifices of so many compatriots should not be in vain, whatever the future may hold in store for me. We will take the steps we have to take to keep our factories running, to keep our workers employed, to keep going forward in these difficult conditions, and ... find the formulas to save the country, save the Dominion! To save our people!” Lucien began at a low tone and ended in a rousing roar.

“Right now the senate is not it! It is time for change! Time for a revolution. To shrug off the yolk of weakness that the senate has forced upon us despite being attacked on all fronts! We need strong leadership! We need warriors, not more politicians! That is why today we will be electing new leadership! A centralized form of government that will be born from the fiery crucible of revolution!” Lucien shouted at the top of his lungs.

He was furious that the senate could be so weak. That they would let so much and so many be lost.

“One that will be stronger than its predecessor! One that will be incorruptible, transparent, strategic and lastly hold accountability for the blood that is spilled in it’s name! Something you senators refuse to do! So now, now we will make you! Vote! Vote for your new leader and Emperor! Take responsibility for all the blood spilled for you old men!”

As Director of the Dominion Security Bureau Bartic had a spot on the senate and that gave him a shot at becoming it's new lead, if a strong unyielding leader was desired Bartic could think of no one better than himself. Before making his speech he looked around the senate, he did not recognise a single face from the original formation of the Dominion, he was the last remnant of that original group, Bartic had bid his time, and his patience had been rewarded this was his chance.

Bartic let this Lucien fellow finish speaking before starting to address the senate, "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Dominion! Do not vote for just anyone, vote for some who has bled for you! Someone who has been here since the start. When Atrisia burned, I was there. When we needed to ring fleets of refuges to safety, I was there. While the government was still being established and false allies lurked around every corner, I was there. Now, in our time of need, I AM HERE!"

Bartic let those last words echo around the chamber before picking back up. "Our Archlord is missing, our last leader has let so much fall, an entire sector, armies, and infrastructure torn down by mere terrorists. This is not a time to elect a weak leader. Vote for me Bartic Myth'rand, I guarantee the safety of our citizens, the protection of your worlds. I personally promise that we will never be seen as weak, as a target, are a mere annoyance. WE WILL BE STRONG AGAIN!"

What seemed like a lifetime ago, Ra had been in these senator chambers. In a way it had been, then she thought she was new to certain things and lifestyle. After some time and journey of discovery some things had changed with the woman. Many things remained the same though and duty was one of them.

Her appearance hadn't changed a bit and she still wore her black clothes, braid and weapons. The only addition she had made was a silver pin to her cloak that looked like an eye of some sort.

Being here as a representative for the still cold, unpopulated and desolate planet of Helska IV, Ra sat in her place in the senate stands. Looking around at the people assembling in the grand room, she remained seated and quiet. Even with the change within her, she would not speak first. Instead gathering information, finding weaknesses to exploit or strengths to knock out.

Most of the people present had no clue Ra a sith lord and she wanted it that way. Just sitting in the background, waiting for the time to move.

...Chaos, yet Harmony...

Arisa sat among the rows of journalists, politicos, and all those other onlookers present for the current Senate session. She would be hard to pick out among the crowd, the Grandmaster and General dressed modestly in informal attire of consisting of a sleek skirt and jacket. Just the way she liked it, desiring to avoid attentions as she observed the proceedings unfold.

It had been a while since she had attended any government function on this scale, not since before the fall of the Old Republic. Non-democratic empires and juntas were the
norm these days. Even the Galactic Alliance sneered at the concept of a Senate, a fact she found disappointing as many had billed them as the so-called 'New Republic'. She commended the Dominion for trying to give voice to all the disparate groups that formed their organization through their Senate, which was what was ultimately the point of such representation seen now.

Events seemed to start out well enough, with the Speaker of the House launching into a small overview of the topics they wished to cover of the course of the current session. The biggest one by yet being the question of leadership as they were now left without a head of state. Since then they had been hit with a string of attacks as they faced a power vacuum, which had prompted the Silver Order to step in and provide direct military assistance and strengthen diplomatic ties against a common foe.

However, just as talks were about to begin, there would be an uproar as a company of soldiers
burst into the chambers. Judging by the shock she felt from some of the Senators, these soldiers had definitely not been invited.

The leader of this little troop would then go on a charged tirade, targeting the Senate with admonishment. Unfamiliar with the internal politics of the Dominion, she was neutral on his
speech, but found his methods of actually getting on the stage deplorable. Some could interpret his actions as attempting a coup.

There would be some applause by those in the crowd for the strongman tactics, but there would just as many Senators who remained quiet in contempt for disrupting an honest gathering trying to work out issues in a civil manner.

Another man she didn't know (
Bartic) would throw his name up for the top spot, rattling off achievements with the Dominion thus far. Like his counterpart, he was also playing himself off as a strongman.

Arisa frowned as she leaned forward in her seat, disappointed. Right out of the gate, some leaders seemed keen on ruining vital institutions in their knee-jerk response to resistance to their string of annexation.

She had come as merely a passive observer, but now it seemed as though she would now have to take action.

"Ladies and Gentlemen," she began as she stood up from her seat. While possessing no mic, through the Force she was able to throw her voice all across the room, so that people could hear her as if she was standing right in front of them. "Before this session devolves completely into a circus, I ask for everyone to calm down. So the Dominion has faced some setbacks. That's no reason to disrespect your own institutions and betray the vision the Dominion was founded upon. Then you become like any other empire. You become exactly like the thing you've been fighting against this whole time."

Her dark eyes centered on the officer on the stage (Lucien), her stony expression making it abundantly clear that she
wasn't impressed by his show of force. A single company, no matter how fierce, was nothing to the veteran Jedi General. With a single thought, she could take them all down with little more than just one of the bobby pins that held up her hair. The man, in particular, existed in a pit within the Force, but she possessed a wealth of experience dealing with his kind. Nothing a good shattergun couldn't handle.

"Good sir, I would ask you to remove your soldiers so that that discussion may continue without threats of violence. Please unhand the Speaker, or I will do it myself."

Already, the cyborg's mind was at work sizing up all possible opposition out of habit. She wasn't looking for trouble, a firm proponent of diplomacy, but she was ready to throw down as necessary.
Hopefully wiser heads would prevail, and they took her words seriously as just about the only reliable ally of the Dominion.

The halls of the Senate turned to uproar when what began as a session of congress seemed to be advancing more towards a spectacle by the military. Angeli Mortis, independent in it's actions had stormed the great hall with a show of presence and force. "What is this?" Adron questioned, a brow raised in curiosity as he watched the soldiers advance on the hall. As many of his counter-parts did Adron rose to his feet, taking in the scene in full.

The Commanding Officer to the Angeli Mortis was out of line, far out of line, however that did not inherently make the man incorrect in his statement. Glancing around the room Adron noticed the position of the augmented warriors within the Angeli Mortis, he also took notice of the soldiers within the Senatorial Army. Most looked to him in question of what to do, should they attack or attempt to silence this man? He could see the question in their eyes, and how it echoed his own thoughts. With a subtle wave of his hand he ordered his soldiers to remain calm, and not rise against these warriors. The last thing any of them needed was a civil war held in the middle of the Senate building.

Adron parted his lips to speak, however he was cut short by the Director of the DSB, who saw opportunity in this moment of chaos. The Count had never personally worked with the man in his time, however his name often found a place on his desk in some fashion or another. As he spoke Adron stepped back from the ledge, turning towards Anya with crossed arms. "The Archlord was the only thing holding The Dominion together, most of the men here held a fierce loyalty to the man that quelled outbreaks such as this. With him gone the Angeli Mortis answer to no one, as do his Command Officers such as The Director and I."

"A new Archlord must be selected, this much is true." He stated, no bit of conviction lost in his voice. "However, The Director is not the man. He is too....too much of a man. The Archlord inspired his people as a god would. Something no one here is capable of doing, not even I."

When The Director's words came to a halt Adron watched as the Grandmaster to the Silver Jedi, a guest to these proceedings, spoke her piece.

"Hold fast, Grandmaster. Let the General speak, regardless of his military presence there will be no bloodshed here. Am I correct, General?" Adron's voice called out to the senate, his earpiece magnifying his voice so that all could hear him. "The General, while lacking grace, brings up a valid issue and the main issue. The Dominion is not meant to operate strictly from the guidance of the Senate. It is the Archlord that ties us together, and another must be selected."

Adron glanced to Anya before making his way down the walkway. As he spoke, his turned his eyes up to The Director of the DSB. "The Archlord is one man who puts the hells of The Dominion on his back, accepting the burden and honors in full. Humbled by the power, yet empowered by the faith of his people."

Turning his gaze back to General Galtier Adron arched a brow at that man. "Do you truly believe any of us are ready for such a responsibility, is anyone in The Dominion ready for that fact?" Crossing his arms underneath his cloak Adron nodded towards the man respectfully. "The answer is no. It's not a position one gets to be ready for. It's a swim or drown position, so who would you see swim? Yourself?"

"Feel like a damned monkey in this thing.."

Colonel Valkren Calderon mumbled to himself as he shifted his position in his seat, attempting to tug at the collar of his dress blues indiscreetly. The young soldier sat back and took a brief look at his surroundings. Politicians, officers, journalists, all here to join in on the bloodbath that was politics. Of course, Valkren was not alone in this, as he had arrived as Grandmaster Yune's 'plus one,' which he did not mind at all..As long as he did not have to participate in any of these political endeavors, he'd have quite the time watching.

Being so used to being in combat first hand, politics were like a whole new battlefield for Calderon, a battlefield that he could not even begin to fathom. You could be 'friends' with someone and the next day that same friend will have a knife to your throat, metaphorically..At least he hoped.

In the end, Valkren was no fan of politics. He'd take humping a thirty pound ruck and toting a rifle in the blazing sun toward his next target over a political debate any day. Unfortunately with his most recent promotion, he's had to deal with more than enough politics and paperwork than ever. Thats why he knew people like Arisa, the brains behind all of the brawn of the rangers. She was also probably one of the most capable fighters in this room. He could respect that about her; in fact there was a lot to respect about Arisa.

The young colonel cocked a brow when a newcomer entered the senate building along with a company sized group of soldiers, each taking their places by the numerous politicians. Valkren scanned every man he could, analyzing in his own way the strengths and weaknesses of the current scenario if things really got hairy. He assumed there wouldn't be any trouble, unless the man that had now taken center stage was stupid enough to start firing off rounds within the senate building. Just incase, his sidearm was resting comfortably in a shoulder-sling-holster that was located underneath the top layer of his dress uniform.

The commando remained on standby, his fingers tapping along the arms of the seat he had taken, his eyes went to the Grandmaster as she put her in own words, and then back to the middle of the walkway where Adron had picked up the conversation once more. A frown became visible on Valk's face, scenarios still running through his head concerning the security of the building, and they're own security.

Should have brought our own escort..

When The army marched up into the council cha.bers anya was up and had a blaster at the ready finger riff the trigger but the gun powered up. She was in full defense mode now as she watched what was going on before her

However she glanced over to adron watching his actions and that of the senatorial army, she hid the blaster pistol yet again as she held her hand behind her back and listened to him with a straight face as she nodded....she didn't quite understand the events that took place before her arrival

She listened to him speak to the others as she remained calm eyes simply scanning for any threats to adron and the council, when he started down after glancing to her she followed looking around as she followed beside him silent

Lucien listened as the head of the Dominion security bureau through his lot in. Immediately electing himself as the next Archlord and Emperor. This pleased Lucien it meant that their were some among the senate who saw reason, some who saw that the old regime was weak and needed a change. “Are their any others who believe they are fit to -” Lucien began but was interrupted as a woman dressed as a reporter began to speak. The commando wondered if she was a Jedi as she seemed to need no communications device to amplify her voice. Whatever she was, she was rudely mistaken if she believed she could stop the change about to happen here.

“The people have spoken! It is obvious the ways of old will no longer suffice! The senate has lost us too much! I have seen too many comrades die for their vanity! I will not leave until a change is made!” He shouted vehemently to the woman.

Still Lucien relented somewhat. He nodded to the troopers holding the speaker of the house and they released the alien. He quickly scuttled to the very back of the orators hall. A hundred angry eyes from the Angeli Mortis followed him and the man seemed to wilt beneath their gaze. Adron spoke as Lucien finished and the general listened intently to what he had to say.

“Yes Count. No blood will be spilled today,” Lucien said. “So long as everyone is willing to make a change for the greater good of the Dominion,”

The count approached Lucien and posed many good points and asked even better questions. The Archlord was like a god to his people and without him the Dominion had almost collapsed. Could a mere man hold such a great power together? Lucien believed so.

“In a galaxy full of Jedi and Sith it is easy to believe gods to be real, but the truth of the matter is that they are just men. We all bleed the same. You needn’t be a god to lead. You need only be a valiant person,” Lucien eyed the count carefully after saying this and decided to push a little bit more “I do not wish to lead. Only to make a change and I believe there is someone far better equipped to lead then you’d know… Another military man, one who believes in the values of freedom. But, knows the hardships of war,” Lucien walked towards the count and raised his hand “His name is Adron Malvern!” Lucien shouted. “This MAN has my vote! Now should you wish to run for Emperor speak up now. If not prepare to vote!”

"'Lack of grace' is an understatement." Arisa retorted, approaching the stage as she kept talking, voice still amplified for all to hear clearly "What this man did is essentially storm in and try to hold the Senate at gunpoint to push his agenda. Maybe you all can't feel it, but at this point, you're making an enemy out of the very people trying to help you save the Dominion. This not the time to turn on each other. Maybe the Dominion can't function well without a Commander-in-Chief, but it also cannot function without a Parliment for the people. They've done the best they could considering the circumstances."

She was on the stage now, feeling the eyes of hundreds on her as she had injected herself into the conversation. There was a great mix of emotions among the crowds now, as many people struggled with who to side with at that point. None of them were necessarily wrong, and each person speaking did mean well, doing what they thought was necessary to preserve their fledgling project they called the Dominion - home.

"General, I'll take your word that you didn't come here to hurt anyone, but if you continue manhandling your officials, then I'm taking you and your men down. Hard."

She looked around, eying the other two men that now had their name up for election. Count Malvern, and the other unidentified man that had put himself up for the position of Archlord. Through her neural link, she drew upon public and private databases to identify him as
Bartic Myth'rand, a prominent official within the Dominion, and the new owner of CEC.

"Alright then, so there must be change to save the Dominion. I'm all in agreement about that. The question I now have for you three gentlemen, is how? It's not enough to be
strong, but to have a vision. What are your visions for the Dominion?"

She wasn't satisfied with each official just waving around their credentials throwing out vague promises to play to the crowds. None of these things moved Arisa, a technocrat well versed in politics from her time as an aide to a Republic Senator. She wanted to hear of concrete plans and initiate a serious dialogue.

"To me, the rampant terrorism that now plagues the Dominion is the most troubling event. The frequency, targets, and scale suggest that you all aren't just dealing with merely an issue of incompetency, but treachery. Whatever is decided here today, you all must work quickly to clean house."

Coming from the Republic, Arisa had seen her share secret Sith Lords and traitors try to bring down the Republic from within. It didn't seem conspiratorial at all for her to consider that the same thing may be happening to the Dominion.

"Obviously the threat of the Sith continues to loom, but the Silver Jedi will continue to stand with you all against them, and give you the breathing space to recover. There's no need for revolution, but reflection."

Bartic would have been insulted if it weren't so absurd, the count was still a child, and yet Lucien had claimed he was a 'military man' yet he was only of the minimum age to serve, farther more the only hardship he had seen was becoming the soul heir to an entire kingdom a little too early, aye losing your parents was hard, but it hardly qualified on for leadership, experience, experience and knowledge did that.

"You want my vision of the Dominion? Simple, the very same image that our first Archlord carried, one of peace, one of security, but most importantly, one of freedom!"

"HOWEVER!" Bartic let his voice boom across the senate.

"A terrorist walks into the senate, unopposed mind you, and unlawfully forces an election, he then supports a candidate, as if his words hold mean after his actions. Well they do, but not that which he intends, he reviles the man to ignore and, pending a lawful investigation, a potential conspirator, especially when he claims to answer to no one, a complete falsehood as all departments are ultimately answerable to the senate, after all, you can not have a democracy if you have many rogue elements running around able to do what they please."

Well, this had been an interesting day.

Dressed as a security guard, the woman had been patrolling the hall of the Senate building, preparing to make her move. There was something about this building that made her stomach turn. Maybe it was that the people here demanded to be respected, to be heard, and to be obeyed. Yet she assumed, at least, that most of them were wealthy, and many had had easy, decadent lives. She passed the Serenno delegate's position, and hazarded a glance at the man. He was proud as he addressed the masses, and she could see the Angeli Mortis commander in the middle of the room. Her body tensed. If he made her, this would be over. Shaking her head, she walked past the opening behind Adron and his cohort, over to where the Silver Jedi's division sat. There wasn't much for her to do here; one of her coworkers had already set something up. She tapped commands on a nearby console. The system would do the rest. The woman walked on, hoping the ruckus on the Senate floor would hold the attention of both [member="Arisa Yune"] and [member="Valkren Calderon"] long enough for her to move away. The last thing she needed was to confront a Jedi.

Tyris was on board with Luciens little coup d'état, he was sick of how the senate had shuffled their feet in electing a new archlord, something had to be done one way or another, this was the fastest way to acheive that goal. Sure some people would call them terrorists, others criminals, but this was the only way anything was going to get done. The senate had proven itself incapable of electing a ruler and the Angeli Mortis had to do something about it. If nothing was done the Dominion could soon be relegated to the history books. This was not acceptable in any possible way.

Tyris had moved up to the balconies, forcing some of nobles to leave their expensive seats. It would make a good sniper point, he didn't want to have to shoot anyone, and he did not intend to kill anyone, but he would shoot if he had to, albeit in a nonlethal manner, he knew right where to hit to make sure somebody lived to tell the tale, and he could do it from 3 kilometers, a few hundred meters was nothing compared to that. If anyone made any wrong moves Tyris would handle them, the men on the ground were more for show than anything. What is the point in a coup if you don't have a large threatening army of Spec Ops Super soldiers?

He would most likely go unnoticed by the people on the ground, he didn't like to make a big entrance, the batallion of troops was really good at drawing attention, so he did not even need to be seen, though if anything went wrong he would be doing most of the legwork, unless of course they decided to organize, then it is a battalion of force dead super soldiers vs some unarmed senators with a few Jedi and sith thrown in, not too hard if he had to say so himself.

Colonel Calderon could feel a smile tug at his lips as he watched Arisa make her way to center stage, in front of everyone. Valkren figured she had to be used to it. Being Grandmaster, he only assumed judging eyes would always be watching, waiting for slip-ups and things to criticize. It had to have been a heavy burden to bear, a burden that she seemed to handle quite well.

As far as he could tell, the Grandmaster was calm and steady in the face of adversary. Hell, this exact moment was a pretty solid example. Even for someone with as much political experience as her, it was impressive to stow the emotions in a scenario like this. Highly outnumbered and probably outgunned, Arisa still managed to keep the tables from turning.

Then came the warning that she gave to the general. It was a warning that needed to be heeded, as Valkren knew her strength. It was almost a joke whenever his men were asked to be escorts for he; the fact that he had a sidearm concealed and strapped to his side was mainly for the protection of himself and whoever it came to. He was almost positive that Arisa could handle herself in any situation, but if the time came when he was needed he'd be there.

Valk' reached up and tugged at his collar once more, gaze shifting over to Bartic as he began his retort. The man had good points. Valkren was unaware of the full nature of how politics and law worked here with the Dominion, but what the general did seemed to be more of a hostile action. Then again, it seemed to be an effective method as show of force. It was a risky method, but in a galaxy where politics put up more red tape than save people, sometimes showing who walks with the bigger stick is best.

The young operator just couldn't make out how this would all turn out. If tensions continued to rise whilst the soldiers were present, who knows. Yet, if the soldiers were to disperse..Well it'd put Valkren at ease atleast. The sides being picked and the politicians fighting their battle was plenty enough of a distraction to keep his eyes focused ahead, besides the occasional glance behind him toward the soldiers and guards.

Lucien's words had caused The Senate to erupt into a powerful uproar, one that did not seem it would be so easily settled. Pulling his arm from the soldier Adron deactivated the commlink that carried his voice to the rest of the Senate. "What the hell are you doing?" He asked the General.

However, his question never met an answer. His words had stirred The Senate, and was forcing them into a singular chant that echoed through out the hall.

"Vote." They called, again and again until finally Adron moved past Lucien, glancing up to the hall as he did. With a tap to his commlink he called out to the hall, attempting to restore order once again. "Enough." His voice sounded in one commanding boom. Finally, the halls returned to silence, giving him a much needed moment of thought. "In The Dominion every man has his voice." He started, glancing from Lucien to Bartic, and then returning his gaze to the Senators before him.

Silence took the hall, in a palpable anticipation for the Count's words. In all honesty the man had not yet found them, what could he say to bring the Senate back in to order? To bring justice to so many worlds and to show the resolve that many needed to see in this time of weakness.

"We must be better." He said, his voice holding the conviction of a convinced man. "We must be better to our people, to our allies, and to each other. Now is the time where we make our choice in history. The choice that puts us in the back of an old book, marked failed governments. Or we can become the ones to write our own history, take our destiny into our hands and take steps towards a pure society! One of honor and hard-work where every man knows his worth."

Adron pulled himself back from his speech, feeling no need to carry on any further. "A vote must be had. An Archlord must be chosen. I cannot allow the Director to run opposed knowing there is someone better. That is why I agree with General Galtier and accept his nomination as Archlord of The Dominion. Know if you vote for me, you vote for the future you can be proud of. One where every mouth is heard and every citizen knows their worth. An honorable society, as the Archlord demanded. A society that will never forget our past and never forget Atrisia!"

The political maneuver Adron had taken was a large one and had the potential to yield great results. As he stepped back from the podium Adron glanced over to Lucien, nodding at his silently before speaking. "General, as the one to initiate the vote it is to you to oversee the procedure. I trust you can do so without weapons."

Lucien watched as his words stirred the crowd into a frenzy. The Jedi took the stage. She was not dressed in battle attire, and she did not appear to have any weapons, but lightsabers were easily hidden. Though what she did obviously possess was courage and common sense. Something Lucien respected and as a result he became more inclined to listen to the woman. Her words were soon followed by those of Bartic Myth’rand. He denounced Lucien and his men as terrorist and Lucien raised an eyebrow at the man.

“You would call me and my men terrorist when you were so quick to throw yourself in the election that I proposed?” Lucien asked incredulously.

But, none the less his words rang true and Lucien nodded. He had been brash, but this country had needed a bold statement. Adron spoke and the senate grew quiet. He gave Lucien the power of mediator and the general nodded in thanks.

“As mediator of this election my vote will count for nothing and so that no one feels pressured to vote a certain way my men will be dismissed. Those who wish to vote will have to do so without weapons in their hands,” Lucien said into the mike.

“Angeli Mortis, dismissed,” Lucien finished and the troops gave him a crisp salute before exiting the building. “Now Adron, Bartic. State why you believe yourselves fit to run this glorious empire and what you believe you are capable of doing for it,”

"Why did I jump in? Simple, I've seen this kind of thing happen many times, they always go the same way, unless someone else steps up."

Bartic collected his thoughts before making his continued speech, "You want to know why I am fit to run the Dominion, it is very simple, name one person here whom has held their position for longer than me. Name one person here who has supported the Dominion for longer than me. Try it, you wont, I have the experience necessary, both militarily and diplomatically. I am quite curious to make this better option of yours, tell me, when will they be joining us?"

Bartic made the jab at his opponent, he knew that the senator meant himself but Bartic refused to believe that it was true, it wasn't anyway, Adron was still a child, or rather he had barely passed that marker, he lacked the worldly experience that made a good leader.

Silence fell over the chambers as Bartic spoke his piece. It was refreshing to once again engage in the art of politics, however aggravating it could be. His words were based on passion and a wanting to make improvements, two things that the young Count respected more than he would let on. As the Director's words fell to weak jabs towards Adron the senate seemed unconvinced by the spectacle as a whole. They had to believe, and for them to believe Adron would need to believe.

In time Bartic's statement came to an end and the halls looked to the young lord in anticipation. He held his hand up, three fingers raised towards the ceiling. "Thirty percent."

Lowering his hand he took to the center of the hall, his eyes showing a conviction that refused to fail. "In the time since I took over as Serenno's Sector Commander I have raised my home planet's economic standing by nearly thirty percent. It's military standing was raised by over seventy-three percent." He said, pride spilling from his words.

"I was there for my people, as I will be here for you." With a hand outstretched to the crowd he continued. "I was there when the Ventooine settlement needed supplies, was I not? I was there when Vjun came under attack from the Sith, was I not?" A mumble of agreement came over the Senate as slowly Adron swayed their opinions.

"I was there when we found the lost Jedi library, did I not help return this treasured knowledge to The Dominion?!" Another mumble of agreement, this time raising to a slight cheer.

"I am the man who raised the Second Sector Fleet, the very fleet that guards many of your planets, am I not?! How many of you have been raided by pirates, had your transports sacked, or had your food stores run dry? None of you! Because my ships and my men have worked tirelessly to provide you with the security and sanctity you deserve." As Adron's mic fell to silence a roar of approval came over the Senate.

"So now I ask you....who better to serve as your Archlord?"

The Senate called back to the Count, his name on every tongue, a roar of approval echoing through out the halls of congress.

The senate roared Adron’s name and Lucien smiled. The vote seemed almost unanimous and Lucien raised his hands to quell the chants.

“It is decided then,” Lucien said as the last of the roars began to die down “Adron will take the place of the new Archlord,” He finished and was greeted by more cries of joy.

It seemed a momentous occasion that would go down in the annals of Dominion history. A few would probably even wish to make a holiday out of it, but Lucien thought That will depend on how well he reigns. Lucien looked over to the only other candidate, Bartic and eyed him suspiciously. Politicians were fickle and as the head of the DSB he was doubly not to be trusted. Still Lucien hoped Bartic would lose with grace and the man would not have to be ejected from the senate building. His eyes shifted back to Adron and he smiled to the man. He gave him a pat on the shoulder and spoke so that only the pair could hear

“Congratulations,”
