THE CROW FLEET

jOQaT2L.png
While the tactic employed by Amalia may have initially seemed succesful against Darth Nefaron Darth Nefaron 's fleet, she knew it would only be succesful in a short run, for while the TIE/Vulture's may have been expendable, the Javelins were not and as such the TIEs would generally be discarded much easier. There was also the time crunch on the operational strategy, for the longer this engagement lasted, the harder the two battlegroups would have to fight and the intensity and danger to the Imperial side would only increase.

Add to that the violent force storms which managed to not only cause a few gravitational, but also sensory and navigational errors, led to a faster bleeding number within the battlegroups compared to the onset expectancy of the operation.

"Pull the strike groups back, have them swing round in order to strengthen Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen 's flank," The now eerily calm, faintly smiling Amalia looked at the holographic display, finding the reluctancy of the sith to move their pieces rather strange, but also amusing. "For an empire built on dominance and the display thereof, so far they have only shown utter disappointment."

She let out a deep sigh, looking at the holographic display until suddenly the metallic voice of KRONOS , The AI who effectively oversaw not just her own, but also the operations of her master, his droid legions and his enforcer:

//: DETECTED POTENTIAL WEAK POINT IN ENEMY SHIPS

The woman turned her head towards the image of code and static popping up near the holographic display of the battlefield, a single spheric image with pulsating lines of light; KRONOS' core.

//: SCANS INDICATED USE OF N&Z SENSORY PARTS
//: DEACTIVATION OF THESE SENSORS IS POSSIBLE REMOTELY IF NECESSARY

"That is hardly a weak spot, KRONOS... The Lord of Hunger would reprimand you for such downright shortsighted assessments," While this may have been useful against standard fleets run by people who weren't attuned to the force, even her raw, yet barely trainedstrength within the force could point out to her that bar the presence of the Mon Mors, this fleet held one of the more dense accumulations of power within the force, no doubt this was an actual fleet run by Sith and not some freeloading pirate as some of the others appeared to be. "I want you to relay this message to all the Crow Fleet's vessels; launch all the Lambda YT's and have them reinforce the battlegroups which are sent towards the Supreme Commander's position, bring down the enemy craft without hesitation or warning."

Pressing a button on the control panel of the holographic display, Amalia relayed her next set of orders to the engineers in the cooling tanks and the weapons stations. "Gentlemen, in a few seconds, the Gluttoneria will decloak and the Queen of the Imperial navy will no doubt make the Sith realize that the Imperials did not take this assault lightly by any means. The apollyons are primed, thus we turn to phase two..."

A shudder went through the massive super battlecruiser, which suddenly revealed itself above the crow fleet, like a looming shadow, the large flagship suddenly seemed to light up at its bow, when a streak of light suddenly burst from them and crossed the distance rapidly, this was no maser or laser beam, but a projectile fired off with such force and speed that it was rightfully concidered one of the most effective and powerful weapons a ship could have without being fully considered a superweapon. The ship did not shake, nor did it shudder from the shot of these mighty weapons, but those who operated in the cooling bays now had to hassle to cool down the weapons and prime them again.

While the massive ships seemed less deterred by the force lightning due in part because of Amalia's presence, it was mainly because of the expansive shielding it utilized, a formidable and insanely expensive shield system, especially when built in on a massive ship like that, but certainly worth it, as shown by a streak of lightning crackling across the ship's surface after having to pass through the layered shielding, causing but minor damage, still damage...but most likely far below expectations of the sith.

"Have the tyrants fire off another full volley...utilize the NZ RP-3GMIM Guided Mass Incendiary Missile for this cause," Amalia ordered her communication's officer to relay this message, a response in the form of a whole host of missiles bursting out of their tubes and traversing the emptiness of space was enough to once more have her smile faintly.

  • The two battlegroups break off their assault on Darth Nefaron Darth Nefaron 's fleet and swing round to aid Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen
  • All 4 Lambda Class YT Annihilator have been launched from the claymores and have been divided over the two battlegroups to bolster their strength and aid the Lord Commander's fleet to his orders.
  • The Gluttoneria decloaks and fires off the Apollyons towards Darth Nefaron Darth Nefaron 's fleet, aiming more for center mass rather than a single ship in an attempt to weed out its numbers.
  • Launch a volley of 240 missiles from All utilized Tyrant suppression cruisers in order to further put pressure on Darth Nefaron Darth Nefaron 's fleet.

OBJECTIVE III

As the saying goes, "Smooth space voyages never made a skilled pilot." And if there was any truth to that saying, then by the time Drystan was finished with this operation, he'd be on the fast lane to fleet admiral. Still, his space legs kept him secure as the gusts and bangs of the space storm thrashed the boarding vessel with unfeeling violence.

He scoffed at Hydra's words, his own reply dismissive. "And I'm the best damn Trooper Ball player on this side of the galaxy. Don't get your panties in a bunch while you board, Darth. And before you reply, right now, I'm commando."

Despite his snide demeanor, he was grateful that piloting duties were left in more patient hands, a small part of him having wanted their ship to ram straight into one of the enemy vessels, full speed.

312's words cut through his thoughts, carving a smile on his face. His words veiled in bashfulness, obscuring a more sinister intent.

"Why, 312...For me? Oh you shouldn't have." His visored gaze stared square at the oncoming vessel. He imagined it as a space limousine, meant to cheffeur him to a fanciful venue or to wonders unknown.

With the boarding procedures finished, all Drystan needed was a singular step off of the dropship, the only movement the welcome party would see before he became a black and red blur.

In a flash, the cadre of imperial troopers meant to intercept were knocked unconscious, Drystan standing in the midsts of their unconscious forms, a closed fist with his index curled slightly forward. Gentle strokes reserved for thinning the unworthy.

"Won't be finding a proper challenge here. Guess it ain't like my last fight on Brosi." He shrugged before walking away, chasing his own whims and desires.

"If my attention is needed, you know how to reach me."

Karl stood in the middle of his tactical display and watched as the battle unfolded. He was unimpressed; the battle had not progressed in the way that the simulations had run before the invasion. In the last battle, the navy had rushed too far and ran directly into a trap; this time, they were playing it safe and using long-range fire to whittle the enemy down. It wasn't happening fast enough. But the hostiles weren't making too many moves either.

The ship shifted aggressively as the force storm strengthened itself, causing some slight damage across the larger of his ships. There was a loud alert as a huge lightning bolt ripped out from the storm, striking the INV Dac. Its shields buffeted the bolt, keeping it from destroying the vessel, but without a doubt, took the majority of their shield's strength.

"Damage report from the Dac, Environmental stabilizers have been taken offline. Breathing masks have begun being distributed to the crew. They are working on getting it back online. They request to withdraw behind the Rook to recyle their shields as well."

"Granted." The Exarch said coldly. For a time, this would reduce the effectiveness of the picket bubble he'd organized, but the safety of the crew came first.

A weapons engineer raised their hand, Karl saw it out of the corner of his eye, and nodded in acknowledgement. "Sir, there is a heavily damaged Interdictor in the Sith's main fleet. I believe with our bow cannon, we could take out its shields and then hit the hull."

"Begin preparations, load kinetic artillery with RED warheads," Karl answered back. He hit a button on the closest command console, which connected him to the engineering bay. "Chief, we are beginning to charge the Apollyons. Keep the energy flow as steady as you can."

"Aye, Sir."

He felt the ship list slightly as the bow of the ship directed itself towards Elmindra Xitaar Elmindra Xitaar 's damaged interdictor. Then he saw the front of the Aternus begin to dimly glow. He walked over to the weapons engineer's console and watched as the commands flowed to the automated loading system. While he couldn't hear it, he imagined the loud clunking of the RED wareads being slotted into the artillery cannons; a glorious sound to be sure.

Then a voice cut through the command channels,

Exarch, don't overextend your forces by pursuing those Galactic Alliance ships. Maintain your distance with long-range fire, stick to our formation and divert your fighters to assist us in dealing with the main Sith Fleet." he added. "Make sure to keep an eye out for those wormholes, we don't want any unexpected surprises breaking our advance."

"I will send much better than fighters, Supreme Commander." He said in response. He turned to his flight officer, "Send in eight squadrons of GATs and the entire cadre of Sprites, we need to guarantee space superiority over their own complements. THEMIS, connect a private line to the Supreme Commander."

<<"Connecting Karl.">>

He held a hand in front of his mouth and talked low, so that only Sularen and THEMIS could hear him. "Sularen, we need to break through. A long-range slogging-fest won't give us the hypergate. I have an idea, but I need some more of the interdictors taken out. I'll transmit my idea to your personal console. It should give us an opening."

He looked towards the bow of the ship and saw that the glow was beginning to radiate, the Apollyon's energy steadily gathering. He looked over to the weapons console again and saw a charge level of forty percent. He needed to give them more time; however, the kinetics were ready and waiting.

"Prepare kinetic artillery. Target is the interdictor picked out by Lieutenant Huron. Kyber batteries also engage the interdictor, on my mark. Feuer."

The Aternus begins to target the damaged Interdictor with bow-mounted weaponry.
Charged Apollyons and Loaded HKACs with RED warheads.
Diverted Blastboats and Ultralight Fighters to assist Sularen against the main fleet.
Sent Sularen a plan, check DMs.
Fired HKACs at the interdictor and Kyber-imbued batteries.
Small post to keep me in the fight.

Puffed air propelled the small Droid forward as another lingered in the back. They were connected by a thin tether as they moved through the space around the hypergate. They were given one mission by Typhojem, the blessed son of the Mors Mon and C1-1347. It was a basic command, a wish even for the hypergate to be secured.

Cheat wasn't one for war anymore, but if his beautiful Mors Mon and his perfect child, Typhojem, needed something done. He would do it. He would be the one to put himself in danger to protect, serve, and honor. He was the hero of Woostri, of Atrisia, of really any Sith Conflict. Cheat was probably even the Emperor, and didn't honestly realize it. Quite often in public, he was mistaken for the Dark Councilor Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner , but of course, his hair was better.

Speaking of, the Droid had found a small, clear dome to wear upon his head. Lockes such as this were not meant to be exposed to the chill of space without proper protection.

Slowly, the air from the small pack the Droid had been equipped with brought it down to the main hypergate controls. A trill of beeps and boops echoed between the secure channel, both him and Jellybean, the Droid he had found on Woostri. This was his best buddy, the Chewbacca to his Han, the jelly to his peanut butter. The galactic heroes of every nation and era.

Beep boop, beweoop...

The wheeles touched down at the base of the gate, and Cheat began to drag along the Clanker.

The ship that was seemingly immune to the Force storm loomed over them as the hypergate was having some funny readings. Cheat slowly extended the small arm, attached it, and began reading the diagnostics. Another few shrill beeps, echoing his frustration with whatever was reaching out for the gate.

Boop, bewep, beep.

His head would rotate towards Jellybean, as if to tell silently through the electromagnetic waves to find the plug.
