SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Saber
  • Classification: Temple - Outpost
  • Location: Coronet City - Corellia
  • Affiliation: The Green Jedi, Republic Jedi, The Republic
  • Accessibility: Generally accessible to the public.
  • Description: The Saber was a structure in Coronet City donated by the Corellian Confederation to the Green Jedi sometime before the Confederation shifted to a Republic. While the Green Jedi already had a fully operational temple, Diktat Lisza Starseeker saw it necessary to have a location that was easily accessible for herself and others in the heart of Coronet City. Constructed next to a canal that emptied into the bay, The Saber was a modestly tall building with a more "traditional" style entrance. Known as the Hall of Sabers, the entrance hall was constructed to imitate the old Jedi Temple on Coruscant in its architecture, though its purpose was mostly as place of remembrance and thought. Jedi Heroes from all ages lined the hall, immortalized as statues, though as time has drifted on, many of these heroes' faces have been forgotten and instead holographic name plates sat at the foot of each with the statues often being simply robed figures holding unlit lightsabers. As the main entrance it was elaborate and held many side rooms for the non-force using aids of the order to utilize as meeting places or conference rooms. Some rooms were also public meditation areas. Once past the Hall of Sabers one entered the "temple" proper. A tall spire that didn't quite reach the same heights as some of the other buildings surrounding it, The Saber was what one would expect for a Jedi Temple. Two hangars housed Jedi starfighters and diplomatic shuttles as they came and went. The main hangar sat at the middle of the tower and the second sat at the top of the tower. Within the Saber were rooms for the Jedi on assignment there, transient Jedi, guest suites, training rooms, mediation rooms, and anything else that may be needed by Jedi or diplomats in Coronet City. As the Jedi and Green Jedi weren't part of the government proper, it was often used as a place to solve disputes that didn't require court or the law to be involved.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Hall of Sabers: The entrance sub-building. It held memorials to great Jedi heroes and legends, especially the Corellian ones. It was largely open but had some side rooms.
  • Library: A public library in the Saber proper. The Library held both standard reading and historical archives on Jedi, past wars, and various things. There was a section of the Library known as the Archives that only Jedi and their guests could access. This held holochrons, datachrons, and other texts pertinent to Jedi learning.
  • Hangars: The hangars were two large hangars that held the ships and vessels used by the Jedi and their visitors.
  • The Vault: While not as expansive as the Vault at the main Temple or the other large Jedi Temples throughout the Galaxy, but it was guarded with just as much security. The Vault held artifacts and holochrons that were either too valuable, too dangerous, or a mix of both, to be on the Library or Archive floor proper. It was locked behind an elaborate door of Kyber that could only be opened by two Jedi Masters after either the stationed Temple Master or a member of the Green Jedi or Republic Jedi Council had opened the traditional locks with iris, voice, and appendage scans. The doors could be forced open with the Force by bleeding the kyber in the door but doing so corrupts the items inside.
  • Terrace: A large terrace sat on the same floor as the main hangar, half way up the main tower but settled on the opposite side. The Terrace was connected to a large council chamber that small Jedi trials could take place. Imediately outside of the small Jedi Court was a large open space that could be used for gatherings. The terrace itself was a small garden that held a variety of plants native to Corellia and other worlds important to the Jedi.

SECURITY
High
The neighborhood that The Saber is located in is a high traffic patrol rout for CorSec. The Saber is also internally defended by a small volunteer security team along with KJ-S0 droids and dozens of Jedi. The Saber also had various security protocols including security cameras, blast doors, panic rooms, and rooms only accessible to those with the Force via an internal hatch release not accessible externally.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

A relatively recent building in its district, The Saber was a building championed by friend of the Jedi and Diktat, Lisza Starseeker. Funded by the Corellian Confederation and donations, the building was designed by a team of Jedi historians and top architects and presented to the Green Jedi as a gift. While the Green Jedi was initially reluctant to use their new facility, they eventually warmed to the idea. When the Corellian Confederation reformed as the Republic the Green Jedi opened the enclave to the Jedi of the Republic. This made it one of the main enclaves in use by the various Jedi factions within the Republic.

Please elaborate on the last part. How are these rooms barred from being accessed by Non-Force-Users?
