Lehvi clapped his hands. "Excellent. Let's get down to the details."
"To help finance construction of the orbital shipyard, recoup any losses, the Federation is willing to lease a large plot of land for a period of fifty years. This plot of land is fertile, and can sustain growth of
portaak,
brassvine,
glass-fern,
jinsol,
thyssel, and
lammas. They all have been extremely profitable exports in former Confederate space, particularly jinsol- a plant-based spice- and lammas- highly malleable, and the Core Worlders find...aesthetically pleasing, and 'exotic'."
"Additionally, the Federation will grant mining rights of
ultrachrome for a period of twenty years, in a particularly profitable vein, to recoup any losses." He motioned over the one his clansman, who was holding a
strange shield.
"Now, ultrachrome has been used a starship armor in the past, but we have turned quite a profit on...alternative uses, which I shall demonstrate." Motioning to the guard, Lehvi unclipped his lightsaber and ignited it. Bounding across the room, he hammered the shield, multiple times from. multiple angles before stopping abruptly.
The shield was unscathed.
Stepping back, he turned off the blade and faced the Skakoan.
"The superconductive properties of ultrachrome allow it to reflect blaster-fire and slug-based projectiles quite effectively, and as you can see- incredibly resistant to lightsabers."
He coughed.
"As a side note, every Korun is Force-sensitive. My clan, Ghôsh Vass, are trained in the ways of the Force, and take on security missions for a fee. We would be willing to negotiate an extremely reasonable contract with the Federation through the life of the ultrachrome mining lease."
"Finally, we would give the Trade Federation preferential treatment as a trading partner, including elimination of tariffs, in perpetuity if and when the orbital shipyards are completed."
"The Federation asks few things in return. One, is that upon completion of the shipyards and repayment the Federation for the costs- which we estimate, with interest, would take about fifty years conservatively- they are owned and operated by the Al'Hari Federation. Second, through the life construction of the orbital shipyards, the Federation hires on more Korunnai engineers to as the project nears completion. We are currently in the process of sending our most promising minds all over the galaxy to university, so we see this a gradual process. Third, any Korun laborers hired on for any projects are given competitive wages and benefits."
Lehvi clasped his hands together.
"We made this contract to guarantee that the Federation makes a large profit, recoups the costs of construction, while solidifying an enduring partnership while providing the naval infrastructure to Haruun Kal in due time."
"Did you have any objections?"
