Their journey had begun. Their ship had departed Centares 5 days ago, despite a few delays and mishaps they’d managed to leave roughly on schedule, with minimal drama. The ship was a Mara-Perlemian Trade Council Gozanti Freighter, modified to suit their needs. The cruiser’s 75 tons of cargo space had been reduced in favour of a wider floor plan, and more room for consumables. The ship’s durasteel bulkheads had been reinforced and expanded on, giving the transport the strength needed to brave the conditions close to the Galactic Centre. Further additions included advanced targeting systems, shielding, and specialised radio and navigation equipment. Finally, the ship had been fitted with a homely and personalised interior, more suited to long trips than the bare metal and raw functionality of the original design. It was more than she ever could have asked for, and in the first days of her journey, she often found herself running her hands wonderingly across the exposed struts and bracings of the mighty vessel.
She was called the TCV Adiona, and she would serve them well over the coming journey. For however long this mission would take, this was her home, and it filled her with happiness that the MPTC had gone above and beyond the call-of-duty in providing a suitable ship. One that would provide shelter from the elements, attack, and gravitational stresses they would inevitably experience. The trip so far had gone off without a hitch, but they were in uncharted territory now, they would have to be careful from here.
Kit had been the first to wake up from stasis, the timer waking her up one day after their departure from their last resupply stop on Coruscant. Soon, the other crew members would rise from their own stasis pods, and take their positions manning the various positions of the ship. Now that they were no longer on a major hyperlane, and navigate unmapped territories, they couldn’t rely on calculated routes and autopilot. Dedicated crew and pilots would be needed for the rest of the mission. Rubbing her eyes, and massaging the cold from her muscles, she dressed herself hurriedly, before padding over to the percolator and brewing a cup for herself, leaving the pot full for her other crew members. Blowing gently on the hot mug of brew, she took her place at the controls. She’d direct the ship until a pilot woke up to relieve her. She was a capable pilot, but not at the level really needed for this kind of mission. Besides, she needed to manage the crew without worrying about whether or not she was going to hit an asteroid.
The lights were off, apart from the soft yellow glare of a single globe in the cockpit, that cast long shadows into the depths of the ship. The only sounds were her own breathing and the quiet hum of the stasis pods, each one bathing the area around it in an eerie blue glow. It was a kind of comforting loneliness, an isolation that could only be found amongst the stars. It was a feeling with which she was intimately familiar, and one that kept drawing her back to the dark expanse. A hiss broke her from her reverie. She turned her head to see a cloud of mist rolling out of one of the stasis pods. Someone was waking up.

OOC Note: Welcome to chapter 2 of our grand adventure to the Galactic Centre. This thread takes place in the unmapped regions of the Deep Core, 5 days after part 1. Have fun, and remember there is no enforced posting order, so if things slow down write to your heart's content
