Description
The smell of blood and sweat fill the air as cheers of the crowds and screams of agony of those whom are dying carry upon the wind. The sand is stained red, and beneath the area vats of multicolored blood are choked with the sanguine of those whom have lost their lives. The sun beats down upon the area, parching the throats of the fighters, while private boxes afforded by the more wealthy patrons are shaded by large silk and linen canopies. Thousands of seats for the common beings are baked in the sun as they watch the bouts before them. The only refuge from the sun comes when the shadows of the massive towering pillars shade the area, the same pillars sparkle in the noon day sun to reveal the untapped riches held within.
Murals and Frescoes line the walls of the central pit, with large pillars jutting up to accent the area. Stories of past victories are displayed along the walls, while the pillars are known collectively as the pillars of anguish, as they record the defeats and losses suffered in the area. Sturdy Durasteel bars hold back vicious monsters trained for combat in the arena, unleashed during particularly fierce bouts or to face off upon one another.
A single regal viewing box remains for the reigning family, though the Duchess does not often travel to the Pits to watch the carnage. Much of the arena however is hidden below, not above. The upper facade hides the massive tunnels and catacombs that stretch into ancient dried up mines and underground lakes. Here beasts and fighter are kept side by side, as massive forges churn out arms and armor for the combatants above.
What kind of Arena would it be however, if it had not the service of a simple little office. Before those attending enter, it is a common sight to see the rabble pressed upon each other before the bars of the collection office, placing their bets upon whom will win and lose, and those few lucky that win return to collect their winnings. The wealthy however are provided the comfort and privacy of datapads in their private viewing boxes which transmit their bets directly to the betting office, as well as transfer their winnings or losses without having to deal with the common people.
History
The Pits of Dasal are an ancient Gladiatorial Combat Arena roughly established in 3,000 BBY, as a means for the Magrath Family to deal with the local workers whom were striking and otherwise preventing the continued mining operations. Constructed as a means to redirect the workers attention from their harsh working conditions and treatment. Those whom were often deemed as dangerous to the Magrath Family where thrown into the Pits as a means of execution.
As the years pressed on and treatment of the workers changed, the pits slowly fell into disuse and decline, until they were completely shut down in the year 1,000 BBY. The pits remained closed and unused until the recent Gulag Plague, when they were reopened for a time as a means to contend with wide spread depression and chaos caused by the plague. When the plague subsided, the pits were once more closed.
In more recent times, due in part to the recent wide spread disappearance of billions across the galaxy, the Pits of Dasal have been reopened.

Sorry took a bit to get to this, finals and all. Just have a few questions for it
  • What sort of gladiatorial games will be held?
  • What would be the frequency of games and would they be transmitted for betting and such to places outside of the arena itself, such as at a cantina?
  • What actions were taken to reopen the arena?
Other than that, everything looks fine.

For the moment I am going to request that this be placed on hold, until a certain aspect is worked out involving the intended locations location.
