The Pit [terror attack on coruscant]

[member="Theodore Hyde"]

From seemingly no where, cyrus appeared from the shadows on the street. As the building near exploded, shots began to ring out from multiple locations as Hyde's men and some Sith played a deadly game of laser tag. There was a familiar face in the crowd. A bright blue one. An old target of Cyrus' and he'd like to collect. Weaving in and out of the crowd, made his way, seeing the droids nearby, some of the same ones he'd stolen, and some he didn't recognize. The larger ones were scanning the crowd, for the 'bad guys' and they would be successful. Everyone in the dark robes with red swords were the bad guys. Speaking of bad guys, looking past the blue man group, Cyrus saw two Sith far off and they looked like they were talking about bad guy stuff. Standing about ten paces from [member="Cryax Bane"], Cyrus pulled the pins from a pair of Bye Bye's and rolled them at the feet of the crowd. Turning away and walking around a corner; three...two...one...Boom

The area around Cryax would fill almost instantly with a burning yellow gas. The Chiss would know that this was the signature of an attacker from his days back as a RR. Fear and panic would soon errupt and then begin to turn to a cacophony of hacking up lungs and screams about burning skin and eyes. If Cryax is unable to find a breathing mask in seconds, he'd begin to feel the effects as well. Those around him, probably wouldn't be so lucky. Those nearest the grenades, would suffer almost instant lung disintegration and blood pouring from their eyes and nose and mouth until they collapsed, chemical burns covering their bodies and blood pooling under them from the inside out. It would be glorious.

Cyrus would work his way around to locate the two Sith, hoping he could get them to die too.

In general it wasn’t really a good idea to start messing around on the home turf of what was indisputably the most powerful nation of the Galaxy, the Sith took threats like these pretty seriously and when you were actually directly attacking the Sith or their allies? Well, then you know you really messed up.

Such was the way when a single individual, who had been content simply sitting on the roof and studying the events, decided to slightly tilt his head. An act of curiosity as some guy with a mask and a big yellow scarf appeared out of seemingly nowhere and started to throw in nades into the crowds, which mostly would be amusing to the Sith Lord.

He didn’t really care about the human casualties, that was the Sith in him speaking. But what he did care about was a valuable ally being threatened by a random appearing guy. So the Voice of the Dark Lord did the only thing that seemed to make sense for this entire ordeal.

Carach snapped his fingers and a bubble appeared around [member="Cryax Bane"], a fleeting micro-second passed, before the Sith Lord adjusted his attention to the other guy. An invisible force attempted to wrap itself around Cyrus… and then it would squeeze.

Hard.

You know that feeling you get when it seems like all of this has happened before. That feeling of deja vu? Yeah, that feeling. Well, that was happening to Cryax Bane.

Without so much as a warning, the crowd of innocent bystanders around him erupted in pure, unadulterated panic as a mustard-yellow fog began to rise up from the ground. Clawing at their faces, the Coruscanti citizens in his vicinity began to scream and gasp for air. To Bane's stunned surprise, he stayed unharmed through the horror, as the smoke curled up and around the Chiss. It seemed as if there were some kind of invisible barrier protecting him. Apparently, he had a friend somewhere watching over him, not that he was complaining. Not completely aware of where the shimmering energy bubble started and where it ended, Bane began to walk forward and bumped his nose on an invisible wall. "Ow." Ok, that was a bad idea. He decided to stay put, and used voice commands to order some bodyguard droids at his nearby office to bring several re-breathers to the Purple Herglic pub, or whatever was left of it anyway.

Luckily, Cryax's bodyguard droids had a description in their memory banks of the bomber who had attacked him before when he was working for the Black Sun. When the masked terrorist strode into their view as he planted the bombs, his droids immediately honed in on a known unfriendly target. The Mirari bodyguard droids stayed behind with Bane during the attack, but the attacker would find five DD-S1's trailed him as he tried to sneak back into the crowd.

Once the robot henchmen found the bomber, they surrounded him in a semi-circle, aimed their CZ-836 Assault Rifles, and wordlessly opened fire.

The punch slammed into Hyde's leg hard and it hurt, a lot. But was it broken? No, what the ewok didn't know was Hyde at one point was a jumper looking to end his own miserable existence. But he had survived, he was picked up by a scientist and bounty hunter who rebuilt his body. His bones mended and covered in bonemer, a substance four times harder than normal bones. His muscles and organs augmented by a cardio stimulus package that replaced his heart and lungs making him four times stronger than most humans could imagine. But it was at a cost, holding him together was a suit of thick durasteel crafted to his body that absorbed most of the blow. Coupled with the enhanced muscles and strengthened bones it was more than enough to keep Hyde from losing control of the limb. But that didn't mean it wasn't going to go without damage. But another blow like that would surly break the leg.

Letting out a shriek of pain Hyde felt the jolt of raw agony course through his leg, he needed to get rid of this ewok right away.

"Die!" he exclaimed and at this range he didn't need to be excellent shot. He just had to pull the trigger.

The gun let out another wave of heat energy at the ewok's center mass, the gun was probably a good foot away from the little monster when it went off so the ewok did have options. Up through the hole or out through the door, or keep fighting and probably risk having a few burnt patches of skin. Hyde was not going to have his plans ruined by this little runt of a teddy bear, he had come to far for to lose now. The speeder buckled however and Hyde kept it on course moving up through the tunnels and out to the surface of the planet.

But elsewhere things were going to plan, word was that Jareth was hitting his target hard and it would help send a message by attacking one the most powerful galactic nations. That not even the sith were safe from their wrath. But as luck may have it the second transport had arrived at their target, or well just outside of their target.

The sith temple on coruscant. The truck pulled into the docking bays of the temple and it seemed as if it was another routine resupply run. But this was going to prove to be a problem, the FFS didn't have clearance codes or anything of the sort, so once they were hailed on the landing pad the back of the freighter sprang open and the team of ten fanatic soldiers opened up on guard towers with rocket launchers and turret fire as the mind controlled thralls were ordered to rush forward towards the temple. Were they going to do any major damage to the temple? Probably not, but enough to send a message to them.

There was a sick thwap of metal on flesh as the blow caught the human on the thigh, yet Warok's ears - anxiously waiting - never heard the giddy, gut-twisting wet snap of fracturing bone. That gave the Ewok pause as he stared unblinkingly; eyes as black as tar pits, set aflame with an inner cruelty.

The fanatic took advantage of the brief respite to offer Warok the business-end of his heat-blaster. Again.

Warok's arm wasn't all that long. To punch the insipid insurgent he had had to step well within the human's arm reach. A good foot away? Try on point blank for size.

The barrel stared back at Warok, an empty black hole carrying the promise of death. The Sithling reacted on pure teddy-bear instinct. He swept his fist into an uppercut that barely connected with the gun before it went off. Hot agony seared fur and flesh, burning half of Warok's face from fuzzy cheek to rounded ear. The tiny ursine warrior let out a pipsqueak roar of affliction as the sensation of pain melded with the acrid scent of burnt fur.

The shockwave generator-enhanced blow should have knocked the weapon from the extremist's grasp, but Warok didn't stop to check. Blinded by a primal rage and a thirst to be requited, he lunged forward. He had given this whelp more than he deserved. He had been merciful, seeking only to maim, but the sudden flare of pain-induced anger wiped away all sense of compassion. He wanted to feel the humanoid's body shatter beneath his blows. He wanted to feel him break.

Warok lashed out with his right paw in a brutal jab aimed straight for the man's throat. His bones might be four times harder, but his trachea, biologically enhanced or not, wouldn't be standing up to a blow that could shatter a small boulder. As he punched, he squeaked aloud,

"I will feast on your entrails!"

Death-by-Ewok. How humiliating.

As he made his way around the corner to the other side of the street, he was faced with a pressing situation, he felt like he couldn't move as quickly, but that faded away as soon as it appeared. Then, he faced what looked like the toys of a mad blue hacker. Luckily, Cyrus still had his toys from his time as an unafiliated associate of a criminal group who paid him to blow up the Raven's casino. With no ties to the Suns, save for the paycheck, he carried out that attack for he fun of it.

As the Five DD-S1 droids surrounded the Nagai, he ducked and rolled to the side, scorch marks dotting the ground behind him. Just then, two dozen of Cyrus' own DD-S1's that he'd stolen surrounded the five and wordlessly opened fire. Droidicide, beautiful droidicide. Pulling into formation, Cyrus and the droids moved on down the street, with an acquired set of five czerka rifles, they changed targets to the Sith from earlier. A dozen droids, with who knew how many still unaccounted for, fired upon the crowd and the Sith and the Blue Man Group. Whether it be BASIC, VENOM, BANG, FLARE or SHOCK slugs, the new rifles and the energy rifles of the droids slew/attempted to slay everything not wearing the yellow scarf or green cape.

Hyde was decently fast, but he wasn't that fast. Moving out of the way of the punch the hit caught him on his collar bone instead of the neck. The armor was thiner there and augmented bones and muscle or not there was a loud crunch of impact as the bone was broken and the metal was dented. His artery was still intact and the suit kept his body together but he had just lost control of his firing arm. And just as all hope seemed lost the target was in sight, and he could see the fire fight raging between his men and the temple guards. This was it, time to bail. So he yelled very sharply his voice a mix of pain and determination.

"Jump!" he said loudly.

Pushing his foot down hard on the gas there was a loud twist of metal as the gas pedal was fused to the ground and the speeder hit terminal velocity. Hyde then jumped from the speeder and down towards the traffic bellow, he fell like a rock. Tumbling down he hit a run away speeder and his body rocked hard against the side, but he wasn't alone. Coming out the back end of the speeder was his assault team strapped with jetpacks. Moving down they caught up to Hyde and two men grabbed onto his arms before they took off down towards the underworld. The speeder on the other hand where he had abandoned the Ewok was on a crash course towards the temple. Hyde now in the arms of his men decided it was time. Reaching in side pocket he grabbed his detonator with his left hand and pressed the button.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&persist_app=1&v=Ts7FQaVULRs

At the temple bullets and blasters whizzed past various guards and everything seemed to be going in slow motion. Dead men lay scattered on the ground and a few black robbed thralls made it inside the temple from the confusion in the firefight and their outfits. In the grand library and outside on the docks it began. A mind controlled civilian exploded in a blast radius of about fifteen meters wide from the near dozen thermal detonators strapped to them. Over ten in total, three on the docks leveling it. And seven inside killing sith, workers, anyone close enough to the blast of a thrall was destroyed. The temple would be very much intact and it was nowhere near enough explosions to do any real damage but it was more of a symbolic gesture of go kark yourselves and die. Explosions went off and soon the rampaging speeder on a crash run to the temple would explode in the next valuable few seconds.

Hyde on the other hand was still traveling down and he was going to make sure every force user in existence paid for their crimes against the galaxy.

When one attacked an Imperial world, it was reasonable to assume that you would find Imperials there. Whether it be a simple Stormtrooper taking a nice, relaxing day off on shore leave, an ISB official investigating the latest report crisis in the undercity, or your lovable, stalwart Star Destroyer Captain here because he had a meeting to attend along with several other fleet commanders and higher-ranking officers in the upper levels.

While on the way there, it was always nice to receive word of an insurrection happening literally a few levels below you. Especially when such orders came from an esteemed Sith Lord such as Darth [member="Adekos"] himself, all orders were naturally raised to the top of the list in terms of priority and adjacent sectors were to dispatch what reinforcements they could muster in his assistance in quelling such an unpleasant thing. Well, Hans was in the area and he was apt to lend a Han-d or two.

"Commander Jarvo, take us down there now. Be sure to let our compatriots within the Coruscant Guard know about this too, I'm sure they've been itching to put down some mutts as well." The Stormtrooper Commander nodded, glancing at the driver of the Chariot before the man promptly turned the vehicle and its pair of trailing APCs around to respond to the threat.

Hans tapped his chin for a moment, summing Jarvo's attention once again. "And please let Lord Adekos we are on our way. Let's be quick with this endeavor, for I don't take pleasure in the idea of being choked with an invisible hand."

The humanoid leapt out the door, wounded but sadly still very much alive. Warok let out a tiny growl of frustration, absently wondering in some unimportant corner of his mind why the fanatic had said, "Jump," out loud. It was almost like he was warning him. There was also a jet-pack equipped assault team that came out of nowhere, but Warok had simpler heads to boil - an Ewok expression. Trust me, you don't want to know.

Well, the extremist had broken the accelerator, that much was clear. Warok slid into the driver's seat. He grunted. His feet wouldn't have reached the accelerator anyway.

"Heh heh heh," he chuckled to himself as he grasped the controls and pointed the speeder up. Straight up. Seizing a piece of crash webbing, he tore it away and used it to bind the steering mechanism in place, then the fur ball bent low, coiling the power of the Force inside himself and leaped sideways, sailing straight back through the hole he'd made in the roof with a surge of otherworldly alacrity and strength.

As he tumbled back toward the planet's surface, Warok stared at the speeder. It started to stall, then suddenly exploded in a brilliant shower of red-orange flame. Tar-black eyes filled with lightly veiled malice came alive with the reflected fireball, shrapnel trailing away from it like smoky teardrops in the sky.

It was then that Warok wondered how he was supposed to land.

As the yellow-scarfed bomber came scurrying around the corner like a roach that refused to let its shiny black carapace be crushed underfoot, he brought some friends. It seemed this party was just getting started. Cryax counted about a dozen robot soldiers dispersing into the streets. The terrorist and his droids opened fire upon the scattering crowd, most of whom had fled for nearby buildings. The rest lay dead from the gas attack, of course. Bane stayed in his bubble as it seemed to be the safest place until reinforcements could arrive. He only hoped that his unknown benefactor could hold his Force mumbo jumbo long enough to keep him shielded. In the meantime, his five Mirari bodyguard droids defended their Chiss master by emptying their loadouts on the dirty dozen.

Bane's unwavering tenor voice rang out as he issued a few commands to his Augmented Reality Contacts.

"Launch Holonet...

Initiate Encrypted Mode...

Open, Bookmarks...

Open, Bounty Board...

Issue the following bounty..."

By the time he was finished, there was no doubt that Sith authorities would be sending an untold number of troops down into the bowels of the underworld to put down the disobedient dogs with their unregistered droids. To give them a blue hand, the Chiss clicked on his commlink and ordered a large number of CRC henchmen down to the area to assist, making sure they came loaded with EMP grenades and rebreathers.

As the droids fired upon the civilians, Cyrus ordered them to stay behind while he made for the rondesvou point. The droids still held their original paint jobs and affiliated markings from Dragon Droids Pty. This linked them back to the Ravens. And since Cyrus had destroyed the mainframe when he stole the droids, they would not be able to trace which ones were stolen or not. Since they were fresh off the line, they had yet to be uploaded into the inventory listings. With over 200+ droids missing from that attack, it wouldn't be possible to know for certain.

Cyrus ducked into an alley and reversed his cloak to hide the yellow, and for the first time since his arrival to the galaxy at large, he removed his white faced mask and replaced it with a set of glasses and a death stick. Moving back into the crowd, he ran from the site like the frightful civvies near him.

--The abandoned droinds continued to fire on the civilians and the Blue Man Group. The five Mirari droids would be taking fire now as well, both from blaster and slug fire. The numbers were on the DD-S1's side but with the incoming enforcement units, they would be cut down or deactived soon. It is likely that they would take one or two of the larger droids with them before they all fell. --

Cyrus would be running for the ledge of this level and he pinged [member="Hyde"] for a lift.

"Oh, I wouldn't be concerned." Adekos replied. "If that Ewok were so easily killed, he would not have made it this far."

It should come as no surprise that someone who regularly moved among the various circles of Sith showed such a distinct lack of concern when it came to his allies. In reality, Adekos cared a little too much for the preservation of his allies and assets in the face of hostility. In this case, it was simply the fact that Warok was a demonstrably skilled Ewok (though that sounded like an oxymoron) who probably would not be perishing any time soon. Definitely not at the hands of rabble. Speaking of rabble, gunfire suddenly erupted towards the two chatting Sithlings. Most of the bullets missed wildly, DD-S1s being more apt for blaster-based weaponry and not exactly being very accurate with those either.

Adekos was familiar with the droids the One Sith's once-allies used. They were adequate for security and gunning down civilians (who were now either dead, wounded, or had already fled the area entirely), but not for assaulting him of all Force Users.

"Are you familiar with Electronic Manipulation? Wonderful skill."

With a fanciful, unnecessary gesture, Adekos exerted his will over a half-dozen of the droids present. DD-S1s were simple, simple droids. Commanding them was no issue. Wordlessly, the droids he commanded shifted fire from the Sith and into the backs of their automated colleagues. The rest of them had not been expecting such a development, nor were they really programmed to deal with such a development. That was, after all, all that DD-S1s could do- distinguish between friend and foe. When pre-registered friends ignored their own programming and shot at them, they were powerless to switch gears. Within minutes of starting, only the half-dozen Adekos commanded were still standing.

At which point, they all turned their guns on themselves and opened fire until there were none left standing.

Adekos eventually exhaled, a little worn from the exertion, but still capable. "It's something like that."

He probably should have been concerned about Cyrus' escape, but he was also dimly aware that Hans was on his way. It was more than likely that Hans and whatever forces he mustered would run headlong into Cyrus before the maniac could properly escape. Adekos gestured to one of the TA4 droids. "Someone call my shuttle, and track the location of that commlink I gave Warok."

It just so happened that the downwards ramp leading to the relevant level happened to be the one where some vomit-hued cloak was frittering back and forth as if he'd just suicide bombed something. In the distance, several battle droids and lots of other mechanical contraptions with legs and blasters began their apparent descent into artificial madness by firing at each other, spewing oil across the ground, and generally creating a ruckus.

"I think that's him," he said, pointing at the man running towards the ledge. "Didn't that Bane fellow just place a bounty on his head for doing something stupid beyond belief?" Commander Jarvis nodded, leaning to the side to allow Hans to catch a glimpse of the datapad within his grasp. The image even fit and the description only made things even better - the reward did as well.

"Shall we go ahead, sir?" The Stormtrooper tentatively asked. Doing something without authorization was the quickest way to the brig.

Hans nodded, "By all means, Commander."

With that in mind, the APCs rolled right down into the fray. Squads of Imperial Stormtroopers began spilling out of the rear of them, heavy E-Web blaster cannons spewing bolt after bolt all the while. It would be a wonder if such a man could endure the firepower of two armored vehicles including the combined might of two entire squads. Should he choose to jump from the ledge, however, the Stormtroopers nearest to the man were more than willing to satiate their pyromaniac desires by tossing thermal detonators at him.

They were, after all, the best of the best.

[member="Adekos"], [member="Cyrus Falcor"], [member="Sitara Qin"], [member="Warok the Defiler"], [member="Cryax Bane"]

From where they were standing it was easy to observe the ugly yellow smog that floated over the civilians. Sitara cringed as the people in the crowd started to drop, their singing off. It was obvious that they were in pain, but Sitara was more worried about a certain someone standing beneath them. However, a familiar force signature fluttered into the area and Sitara smirked.

Things were going to get ugly soon.

Suddenly droids started to march towards the crowd, firing at everything and everyone they could see. She deflected the bullets that were racing towards her, however, the cloaked man right next to her had taken care of them. A skill she was determined to acquire. “Okay, when all this is over, I have to learn that.” The droids were turning on each other, and within a few moments, none of them were left standing.

Warok the Ewok? She wondered if that furry little guy was alright, though judging by what the cloaked man said, he was probably doing more than fine. She would’ve been in awe if he managed to kill all the terrorists. Perhaps they should be helping the civilians? Or at least going to see who was unharmed.

It looked like everything was clear for now, though you could never be too sure.

"Do you know who caused all of this? Or where they are?" They shouldn't be allowed to leave. With all the damage they caused on Coruscant, someone had to be tracking them by now.

Heh, At least their pawns were dead.

Julian Solo had been surfacing the holonet and its bounty boards for a job. It was a monthly task; find a target and bring him in. So long as it paid well, and Julian Solo only went after high-paying targets. He had kidnapped Republic senators from their bedrooms, and tracked Jedi through the Coruscant Underworld after the fall of the Jedi Temple. He was experienced and accomplished for such a young man, but he was not indestructible, he was not unbeatable, and he knew his limits. But this target seemed a simple one for a nice pay.

Upon exiting his room he made way for the private spaceport just two apartments down from his, and was greeted with the disgusting smells of Coruscant. There was no doubting that what he could smell was definitely a fine mixture of sewerage and garbage. He approached his BT-12 Thunderstrike, a remote in his hand activated the ramp to lower. As he approached, a team of Duros who had been sitting around quickly got to work filling the gunship with fuel. Julian quickly situated himself into the gunship cockpit. He had the last location of this man, but it was only minutes ago. If not for the fact he lived on Coruscant, he would not have such an opportunity to so quickly catch the man. He had to catch Cyrus before he fled, otherwise who knows how long it could take Julian to find him again.

Julian Solo quickly contacted the man responsible for the posted bounty, sending him an audio-transmitted HoloMessage; "Aye mate, I'm not far off but I need you to keep an eye on the suspect if you can. If you've lost him, let me know where he went - if you can." He reached for his blasters to make certain they were at his hip, "I'm coming for him."

As Warok plummeted toward a wet-sticky end, pieces of burning speeder wrecking whooshing past, he spotted a roof-garden not far from the trajectory of his fall. Coruscant, being an urban and heavily industrialized city-planet, didn't have much in the way of horticulture. This caused frustration to not a few citizens, many of whom took it upon themselves to grow fauna on little flats near open space. The gardens provided a sense of relief from the hustle-and-bustle of the city, though the incessant roar of speeder traffic was ever present. Fortunately for Warok, the botany fad proved to be his salvation.

Stretching out with the Force, the Endor shaman touched the life-force of a particular vine and willed it to grow. Power sapped from the Ewok and fed into the plant. The length of green vine shot up and out, stretching out toward him as if of its own accord. Warok reached out a gauntleted paw to meet it and just barely managed to seize ahold as he fell past. The sudden deceleration jerked him to a stop, ripping his already injured shoulder free of its socket. A whimper slipped out, though he set his teeth against the pain.

He then willed the plant to haul him back up and onto the roof, where he collapsed in a small, fuzzy heap, breathing heavily.

The commlink he wore buzzed, but he couldn't bring himself to answer it. They'd probably triangulate his location anyway... Time for a nap.

Hyde and his men hit the ground with a soft thud, the repulser lifts taking the brunt of the impact. So it was time to go, their job here was complete, well at least Hyde's was, Jareth was more than likely still off attacking Titan industries. Soon they'd have plenty of money to fund their war and gain more political away by greasing the palms of whatever NFU governments they could. Stopping on the curb Hyde and his men loaded up into taxi's that were on the side of coruscant's drop into the underworld. That's when Hyde received a ping that one of their operators was in trouble and needed a lift. So the taxi's broke up into four different directions, Hyde's sending one of them to go pick up Cyrus now that they had been hijacked, what blended in better than a taxi on coruscant?

ETA two mikes Cyrus." Hyde said in pain slightly as he eased into the back of the seat.

With a heavy sigh he let off some steam, he had been hurt pretty good but it this was a sign that he needed better armor. The durasteel was nice but that ewok had almost picked him apart, and that was not something he thought he would hear, like ever. So he just lay back in his cab as it drifted through the traffic lanes of coruscant, they probably weren't out of the woods yet but it was good to at least get some rest for the moment.

Cyrus received the transmission that he would receive aid within two minutes time. That was too long. As the pursuers launched their counter attack on the renegade bomber, Cyrus dumped the last of the Bye Bye grenades behind him, filling the area in his deadly gas. Then he slid to the edge and dropped straight down the side of the next level and happened to fall into a balcony. A few too many stories down to land evenly. The nagai slammed into the decking of the apartment balcony. Needles shot up his shins and numbed his feet. Pulling his pistol, he blasted the door and moved inside, limping the whole way. Just inside the door he dropped a pair of AP mines* just inside the doorway. This should give him time to escape. With the mines made of no metal, they would be underecable to scanners and metal detectors.

The home was empty, surely the occupants had fled when the news depicted the attack just one level above their head. The front door was his escape plan and the stairs were the next step(get it?). The numb feeling wore off and the limp was gone. Finding, a few floors down, another door to blast through, he moved in to the back door, another balcony.

He jumped, out into the vast abyss facing Cyrus as he fell. Vehicles and death wizzed by as the renegade fell. His trajectory put him between the lanes of traffic because he couldn't jump that far to be In traffice. Cyrus turned over and waited for any heads to pop out and he could shoot at them.
