Private The Passing...

Midvinter

It was always cold here, it would have taken him a really long time to get used to it here. He wasn't sure how Tiberias managed to stay here for as long as he did, granted he grew up in a different corner of this planet. Tiberias had those that he also called family here. He never talked much about that, now that Kahne thought about it. He was here a long time, truth be told technically he was still young by certain standards. While the blood of the Valkryi and Aelvar flew through his veins, giving him the standards to live about 3 or 4 of a normal life time. He felt the tidings of the galaxy and perhaps even looking after a troubled Jedi Padawan and raising him to essential Masterhood. Perhaps they took its toll on him.

However when the news came, when word had reached his ears about what happened. A dark coldness swept through him, but just for a moment. While he was aware that this was to happen, at some point, but not like this. While a body wasn't found, the Jedi Master knew that he had become one with the force. He was proud enough to know that if Tiberais was to go out, it would be on his own terms not anyone else's. The Jedi Master knelt down as he watched the proceedings take place.

The Jedi Master glanced over to Aiden and Addison for a brief moment and he gave them a reassuring nudge through the force. They were all bundled up warmly as the snow fell ever so lightly across the surface.

Kahne stood up as he continued to watch, and his hand reached for Alexandra's, give her hand a gentle squeeze.

"I'm glad you are here."

Hope is the elixir of life. (semi-retired)
Fond memories of time spent limited as they were with the sage Jedi Master filled Alexandra's thoughts...

She and the children had first met Tiberias Jinn when he came to visit his former padawan while the Portes were living on the tropical world of Ceto in the Deep South of the Outer Rim. Aiden and Addison were very taken with the older, gray-haired man right from the start. Tiberias thereafter became affectionately known as "Uncle Jinn" to them. He had become more of a father-in-law to Alexandra, helping to guide the Taanabian in knowing her husband better and the Force as well on her journey to become a Jedi Knight herself.

Tiberias would be missed greatly by all who knew him, but more so by the man standing next to the brunette. His master's passing had caught Kahne by surprise, and made worse by the mystery of how he died. Apparently the Master Jedi's body had become one with the Force, only his lightsaber and clothing remained in the spot where he fell.

Brandy brown eyes gazed back with nothing but compassion, understanding, and love in them for Kahne as his grief was palpable through their Force bond. Yet, the Jedi Master was ever stoic on the outside.

"I know..." Alex smiled softly squeezing his hand in return. "Tiberias meant a lot to me. We are here for you to help celebrate his life as it should be," she emphasized the plural form as it wasn't only the Porte family that mourned the Valkyri's passing but those of his homeworld as well.

"I know." Kahne responded with a smile, he raised her hand to his lips and kissed her hand gently before lowering it back down. Kahne chuckled lightly, as he shook his head.

"By all accounts he was technically still a young man." Kahne whispered as he looked . "Despite all the grey hair and what not, he was still a young man in his prime. Or at least he seemed that way to me." He remembered him fighting during their time away and it was nothing short of amazing. Tiberias had an agility and grace in the field of battle that was quite extraordinary to witness.

The ceremony didn't last much longer, Kahne had never been to an even that involved the Valkryi and Aelvar custom, he knew that the Aelvar were consistent in their secrecy however, but there were still some present given their involvement with Tiberias. They each had their affinities for long lives, the Aelvar much longer than Valkryi, still.

"Are you okay?" Kahne inquired to Alexandra, not looking at her just still facing the direction of the ceremony, which looked to be coming to a close.
