The Party Crashers [PM to join]

The fact that this Jedi assumed him to be serious was enough to draw a crooked smile from him, though he didn't comment further. Let him think what he would. The idea that what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them applied in copious amounts here, and he wasn't about to give away anything more than necessary. Nothing said they had to know the 'meeting' he was concerned about was with another member of the criminal underworld, or that it would involve less than legal activities. If they were going to assume him a professional, then he was content to let it slide. Just so long as no one did any digging into his past, he was satisfied.

"Most people at least buy me something to eat before they put me in handcuffs, so breakfast would be nice, yeah." A slight smirk accompanied the statement, and it was evident he was being less than serious, almost as if in contradiction to the man's previous comment. It was true that he might have been subtly flirting with him as well, but unless he was paying careful attention it wouldn't be glaringly obvious. Then again, he was Force sensitive, so there was no telling. But Jalek decided he didn't mind either way.

With a slight smile and a raised eyebrow he looked to where Diego was still trapped in his bubble, assessing his friend's current predicament for a moment. All told it was preferable to anything they'd gotten into when they were still with the Renegades, but he could tell that it didn't change his outlook on things. "I think you might want to let him go before he decides to figure out a way to bust out himself. I've spent enough time with him to know what that look means."

Corvus smiled. It was amazing how people underestimated the Force when considering situations. But Diego's persistence and dogged nature could prove a problem as any attack would simply rebound onto him.

So she released the Force Bubble and hoped a stern gaze would be enough to stop him advancing on her. Meanwhile, she was more interested in how Varus was going to deal with the joker.

Varus turned and flashed a smile at Corvus, nodding at the woman as if to thank her for releasing Diego. He then stepped past his fellow Padawan, reaching out and patting him on the shoulder in a friendly manner before stopping in front of Jalek. He smiled at the man and nodded to him, not letting on that he realized this man watched him in an interesting way. "Thank you both for being so civil.", he said as he reached out and patted the young, ginger haired man on his back, turning to walk along side him as he escorted their group out of the armory.

He supposed that the young man who Diego seemed to have a close friendship with might have been attracted to him, but he wasn't sure. The man's preferred orientation wasn't something that he could pick up on by the way he carried himself or spoke, so if he did prefer men rather than women, Varus was not wise to it. Jalek did seem to find him visually appealing from what Varus could tell, however, as he considered how often he looked in his direction and how he polite he seemed to be. Still, he couldn't be sure, and though Varus himself wasn't interested in men, he was flattered by the compliment.

"Let's get something to eat and figure out what we can do about all this.", Varus said, stopping next to Corvus and glancing over to her. "Shall we see if they've started on breakfast in the dining hall yet and find a table so that we can have a talk?"

Diego just grinned at the exchange between his old buddy and Varus. In all their time together, he'd never seen Jalek flirt with someone, and filed it away as something to tease his ginger friend mercilessly about later. His orientation didn't bother Diego in the slightest. He would rib his friend regardless of who the slicer hit on.

The other thing he noticed was that Varus himself was being pretty karking cool about not only Jalek's flirting, but also their whole bout of mischief. His good sportsmanship spoke worlds about him, and Diego thought that eventually he and Varus could even be friends. The jury was still out though.

Still slightly perturbed that their fun had been shut down, Diego was relieved when the Force bubble dissipated. Even drunk and stoned, he knew when he'd pushed Corvus enough, and she definitely had that look about her. So he just stood there and ran his fingers through his hair. He figured the nature of this "talk" they were all going to have was going to be a lecturing one.

He sighed and with another swig of whiskey straight from the bottle, he and looked at the other Jedi with resigned expression. "Sure, Let's go. I'm pretty famished myself."

With a half smile Jalek let his hand bump against the Jedi's hand as he walked alongside him, that being the end of his flirting. Well, at least for the time being. The Morellian was at the very least decent at subtlety when he wanted to be, but there were times when he didn't mind what others happened to think, and this was one of them. But whether the man would respond to his not so secretive hints would remain to be seen, though it seemed he was choosing to ignore them for the time being. Not that he'd expected anything less, in the end. They were Jedi, and he was the farthest from it one could get, at least in his own eyes.

After a moment of walking he stepped forward to walk beside Diego, reaching over to give him a playful shove. "Hey, next time you get the brilliant idea to waltz right into the Jedi Academy like you own the place, remind me not to come along. I do like raising hell, that much can't be denied, but my speciality is not getting caught, see. And I didn't plan changing it until tonight. Now I know why they never trusted you with the more covert missions. It's all coming back, now." The comments were all in humor, as evidenced by the smile he wore.

Whether things would end up for better or for worse after this meeting over breakfast remained to be seen, but he had a feeling that no matter how clean he managed to get away this time, something about this would still end up going on his permanent record. Of course, it was already a mile long in regards to the legal felonies he'd already committed, many of them just from his time running with the Renegades years ago, though a few had more recent dates. If anyone bothered to check, it was obvious he'd made a point of being more careful with things after abandoning the gang.

Another thing that struck him as odd was that none of them had commented on his Force sensitivity just yet. They might not have been aware of the fact overtly, but the Jedi always managed to sense things that they weren't privy to, especially when it came to other Jedi hopefuls. The chances of him accepting the offer were fifty-fifty at best, but that never seemed to bother the likes of them.

Vaurs laughed at the playful words between Jalek and Diego as they stepped out of the Armory. When they did, Varus stepped around the group and came right up between Jalek and Diego, placing himself between the pair of men strategically and resting either of his hands on their outer shoulders, pulling them a little closer as he did. For the time, he was going to try and politely show himself as disinterested in Jalek, the hints from the young man becoming more profound as they grew more comfortable around one another, but if it continued he supposed a light hearted discussion on the subject might just set the record straight, which he was fine with. He liked Diego, and he enjoyed Jalek's presence, though he found the man a bit forward.

All together, he couldn't hold their actions that night against either of them. He'd done far more reckless things himself before he'd become a Jedi of the Order, but that was a story he'd keep to himself unless they preferred to hear it over breakfast.

"So.", Varus said, glancing back and forth between both men as the four of them made their way for the food quarter of the Temple. "What are you guys thinking for breakfast?", he asked honestly inquiring as to what they might have been thinking sounded good for their meal together. It was a good question not because he himself was hungry and ready to entertain ideas, but because it diverted the negativity of their first meeting which had only occurred five minutes ago, and he intended to continue diluting any tension or distaste between them all with such conversation.

Corvus hung back as they headed for breakfast. She still headed in the same direction but chose to be a few metres behind them. She was thinking. Reflecting.

One was clearly Force Sensitive but unsure of his abilities. Or was at least untrained. A bad thing if he fell into the Sith's hands. One was maturing as a Jedi - some of the early confidence now being directed in a less physical way. And the third offered great promise but might yet trip himself up.

In an ideal world they'd sort it out between themselves. The next thirty minutes would show just how well placed that hope was.
