The Order Reconvenes

The Trilon Sector;
The Planet Zaddja.
Planned Rendezvous Point...

Amadeus Ren stood beside his personal transport, the command shuttle powered down as the man waited.

The planet had been chosen at random, purely to serve as a meeting place, with the aim of being uninterrupted. There were important matters to discuss, as the remaining members of the Order of Ren attended the gathering. With the recent fall of the First Order, the scattering of resources and people, the Ren had become a ghost of its former self. Numerous disciples and knights had perished against the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, some had escaped only to disappear, and the direction of the group itself remained in question.

Now was the time to correct that, to bring things back to stability, and to push forward in bold new ways.

But before that could happen, the leadership that remained needed to speak and agree... but whether that was something such individuals could do remained to be seen. But, until the meeting took place, and all voices were heard, it remained to be seen as to the fate of the Ren or their involvement with the crippled First Order.

We must begin anew, Amadeus thought to himself, his face concealed within his combat helmet. Unless the Order of Ren is destined to die.

"Did we truly need to meet somewhere so drab?"

Samka rolled her eyes as she neared [member="Amadeus Ren"]. She'd made sure to land a while away and hide her signature as best she could on approach. "I understand the need for secrecy but there are far more beautiful places to hide."

She knew what this meeting would be about, she had somewhat dreaded it. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to blame the current state of the order on her. She sat within the higher echelons of the hierarchy during the decline after all. She had vanished under the order of the Supreme Leader and never quite returned to her former position. Her absences, both intended and otherwise had coincided with waning faith in the regime of Sieger Ren, to such an extent that she had barely responded to any of their difficulties. The partially treasonous truth was that she had seen this coming for sometime and her reaction was to safeguard herself rather than the order.

Samka Derith had refused to crash and burn alongside the rest of them and had instead melted into the shadows of a vast galaxy to build a smaller powerbase of her own.

So what did that make her now? A leader turned outcast? The force of selfishness within the Ren which she had once disparaged so harshly? She could only await what her comrades had to say.

He was new to the order, that was true. But he was not new to fighting. And that was something that Zrak was relying on to raise himself up. He arrived on the planet out of hyperspace in his personal TIE/RBFO Heavy Starfighter a ways away from the actual planet, putting on it's stealth system almost instinctively and circling around the planet, choosing to land it a ways from the actual destination point but close enough for him to run to it or see if it was lifted. It was perhaps much for the situation. But he didn't particularly care, it was his ship, he'd had alterations done on it. Why wouldn't he use it was the real question.

The Shaper wore Armour-of-ren, with a Vocal_emulator and Rebreather both hidden inside the head piece. In his left hand he carried The-Dragon. He moved quietly, out of instinct, not necessity, as he approached [member="Amadeus Ren"] and [member="Samka Derith"] in time to hear

Samka Derith said:
"I understand the need for secrecy but there are far more beautiful places to hide."
"Is that really something you're going to question?" he asked, though his voice was perhaps calm, the question wasn't exactly friendly. "Can we not just accept it and move on?"

It wasn't that he had any particular ill will towards her specifically, but the question somewhat bothered him. The idea that aesthetic might be something to effect ones choice of where to have a meeting.

The order had began to face its own downfall, something that Xanterus had never anticipated. When he was awoken from cryosleep, he was sure to himself that the First Order, especially its own Knights of Ren, was in the most stable shape it could be. It was then, but it wasn't now. Tragedy after tragedy, loss after loss was bringing the First Order to its knees. There was nothing they could do besides restart. They could dissect the problem and fix it, dessert the faction in its entirety and give up, or whither away as some of their allies already had. Xanterus was never that type. He wouldn't give up on the people who woke him, trained him, and brought him in as their own. He was no where near the completion of his training when the downfall began, however his former master had abandoned him. He gave up on the ideology of the faction and gave up on his apprentice himself. He simply upped and vanished.

When Xanterus caught word of the meeting between the remnant and newly risen leaders of the Ren, he was reluctant as to whether or not he would give up on the faction himself and simply go rogue and become an outlaw. Smuggling was a good business, but he was a more guns and blazing type. Xanterus ended up here by taking a private transport shuttle into orbit of the planet and landing one of their escape pods himself. He figured one of the more veteran Knights or Masters of Ren would assist him in transport to wherever they decided their headquarters and new home would be. As he neared the group of three, he caught word of another man giving his two cents on the atmosphere of the chosen meeting place. His eyes scanned the area for familiar faces, yet he found none. This was common, as he was almost always lagging behind in the current state of the First Order until this had happened. When he came to a stop, he chimed into the conversation.

"Well, the point is to be unbothered, ya know. Not much better looking places. To me, this place is beautiful! Gotta love uh... What's the name of this place?" He said as he looked around for an answer on the other's faces. Before they could answer he answered his own question. "Oh! That's right.. Uhhh... Zabbja.. Zaddja? Yeah! Yeah! That's it, Zaddja!" He was certainly the most energetic out of the few, but he couldn't blame them. Taking a seat on a nearby rock, he waited for the meeting to commence and any other possible allies to arrive.

Kyrel had awaited such a moment for a long time, how long had it been? Months, a year perhaps? He tried to forget the day the First Order fell. Now here he was, summoned to Zadjjaa... A system not far from his own holdout. Arriving with himself, and his new apprentice the former Kitsune Slave [member="Sun Mei Zhen"] with whom he had already begun the early stages of her training, breaking the tradition of a solely Force User religion, to one that would be accepted by all in order to keep what he thought until now was slowly dying. Now here he walked towards the site of where the meeting would take place.

He had wondered what would even take place here today, how many Ren remained, was it him and Decitus alone, not to count the fellow he had seen... The one they called Amadeaus. He had wondered through all the death the Ssi-Ruuk caused, how many Ren truly made it out of the terrible fall of an Empire. Despite lamenting, he had founded his own hermit kingdom of sorts. Within the harsh enviroment of Mustafar, where he had changed First Imperial Philisopy instead of bringing absolute Order, it was the way through warfare and utter destruction for their enemies to know peace. The fall of Dosuun solidified that belief.

He approached the outer chamber of the meeting place, entering inside only to hear the voice of Decitus, perhaps a Ren that he admired the most, and was delighted to even find her here. Getting a closer look with his Apprentice stepping in toe along with him, he heard the conversation by two other Ren, one of which he met already and the other. The one with long black hair, longer than his own even. Spoke perhaps in a casual manner. He approached in a stride speaking from the garbled tone of his mask. "After this long of the Order reforming, and the location is what comes to mind? While not quite the Bastion that some used to know. Could our first words be a question as to why, rather than where?"

When the Knights of Ren began arriving, it was something of a relief.

Decitus' comments about the location were amusing, Amadeus smirked beneath his helmet, though others seemed to misinterpret the comments as more serious. Not too fussed in either regard, the tall Knight reached up and took of his combat helmet, revealing his young looking face with piercing blue eyes. The head ware was tucked under one arm. As more arrived, bringing the total to near half a dozen, the reality of the situation dawned on Amadeus... the Knights were in a dire situation, their numbers effectively culled, and their presence faint.

"Is this it?" Amadeus asked, though it was mostly rhetorical. "Thank you for meeting. I think it's important we discuss the future of the Ren, especially given our numbers and how many we lost against the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium. I have two points to bring up, in particular."

Some gathered were newer, some were more senior than Amadeus within the Order. Perhaps others hadn't managed to appear, for their own reasons. It didn't matter, decisions had to be made, and quickly.

"Firstly, Sieger Ren is gone, there is no denying the fact," Amadeus said simply. "We are without leadership. This needs to be rectified. I suggest we avoid the problems of a singular leader, and instate a council... through this council, decisions are discussed and voted on. And if a member should disappear or die, others can take his or her place. We cannot be left without a head guiding us again.

"Sieger Ren is dead, whether figuratively or literally, it doesn't matter. The Knights of Ren shall live on, is the point."

The other pressing concern was numbers.

"Secondly, we need to recruit. Our Order cannot be effective without Knights. I suggest we expand our guidelines to allow both Force and non-Force users, permitting anyone skilled enough to fight our enemies a place. No more need for exclusive Force use, as times are changing, and warriors with combat prowess have the means and technology to defeat even the most powerful Jedi or Sith... so we should embrace that change, encourage recruitment based on skill and merit, not attunement to a power."

Looking between the gathered Knights of Ren, Amadeus raised his eyebrows as he held each one's gaze for a moment...

"I understand these points might not be well received by some, but without change we will remain stagnant and die."

Samka giggled softly at [member="Zrak Ren"], he was one of the straight laced no nonsense types then. It contrasted heavily with [member="Xanterus Ren"], the long haired man who babbled about the planet. So this was the new blood? They'd get used to one another soon enough.

"It matters because it puts me in a good mood. It makes me far more pleasant to be around."

She stretched on the spot as Amadaus began to speak once more, bringing matters to business. Sam threw a small wave at Kyrel to meet his eye but otherwise remained attentive.

"We had a council, remember? I was on it," Sam responded almost lazily. "Unfortunately I was recalled by Sieger to attend to his more personal duties and the others appear to have gone in my absence. The conclusion one may draw is that they are not foolproof either. Your second issue is also tied into this, I'd question how a council could work with our current numbers. Who would even sit on it?" She sighed, Samka was unconvinced, noncommittal about this entire affair. She had a home to protect now and had been fully prepared to stay there rather than be dragged back into the quagmire of intergalactic policy.

"I'm not opposed though, the Overlord Council was supposed to do exactly that in Seiger's absence, the issue was that they were absent as well. Neither am I opposed to the second measure, there was early experimentation with it and someone here may already have a headstart," she ended her sentence with a smirk at Kyrel.

The diminutive nine-tailed Kitsune followed Kyrel as if she were her master’s shadow. Though she was quiet and completely unable to connect with the Force, she could still sense the tension in the air as a result of the strained reunions between acquaintances who may or may not have been friends at some point. Each of her nine fluffy tails swayed gently behind her as she listened to the various bits of snarky commentary directed at a few of those present. Before the meeting, Kyrel had ordered her to research the Masters of Ren so that she knew who to give deference to. To say the least, it astonished her to see that disciples equivalent in rank to herself were so casually directing quips at the Masters of Ren, as if they were equal in rank to those they were speaking to. Having almost all of her life as a slave, Mei Zhen was intimately familiar with the consequences she could subject herself to if she spoke like that to a superior.

For a brief moment after the two brown-haired men delivered their quips, Mei Zhen feared that the cherubic master would react to the comments with violence and rebuke.

It surprised her even more when the big-eyed woman responded with an equally casual response, before offering Kyrel a girlish wave.

In spite of her bewilderment, Mei Zhen listened attentively when Amadeus addressed the small group of Ren. The furry vulpine ears on top of her skull shifted into an erect position when he acknowledged the issue of recruiting those without the ability to use the Force. The issue was especially relevant to Mei Zhen, since she was likely the first disciple to be initiated into the Order that did not have any ability to sense the Force. She was relieved to hear the legitimacy of her initiation confirmed by the two other Masters of Ren present at the meeting. After all, she had been informed that there was a small chance that her initiation would be opposed by the more traditionally minded members of the Order.

Mei Zhen let an inaudible sigh of relief escape from her lips as her ears furled slightly downward in calm relaxation. After the blue-eyed master and the cherubic woman finished speaking, Mei Zhen looked to her master expectantly, sensing that he would also be pleased to hear the positive news regarding his new apprentice and those who would likely come after her.

Zrak watched as more individuals showed up, the next to be [member="Xanterus Ren"] who likewise seemed unbothered by the location. However, he seemed almost excited about it. The man was quite unusual, it didn't really bother Zrak any. Just was something of note he thought. He didn't really acknowledge the stumbling over of the name, he really didn't have too much reason to remember it either.

The next was [member="Kyrel Ren"], alongside him...[member="Sun Mei Zhen"]. Kyrel he was aware of, at least he'd seen this one before. He nodded his head in agreement on that the question should have been why, not the choice of where. After all the location was tolerable and that was all that mattered in the moment aside from it's strategic value. Zrak had no issue with comfort, but if you were expected to go to war, could you not handle some vague discomfort?

This other one however made him cock his head, ears, tails...nine of them? What a strange creature. He did not dwell too long however, his attention diverted when [member="Samka Derith"] answered his question,
Samka Derith said:
"It matters because it puts me in a good mood. It makes me far more pleasant to be around."

He shrugged, neither agreeing nor disagreeing on the matter. There wasn't much to say but provocation or agreement and he felt like neither at present.

Again his attention was brought to the matter at hand as [member="Amadeus Ren"] laid forth their situation. It clarified further that Zrak had entered the First Order, particularly the Knights of Ren, in a state of disarray. On the one hand, it was inconvenient for his power as a whole. But within the Order? It only furthered his possibility of growth.

The topic came to the orders council instead, he heard [member="Samka Derith"] response to it, then chose to speak as well. "Perhaps that could work, but I'd suggest it as more a leveled council. Where if people are missing, the power is diverted to others. No more lack of power, it simply redirects to another, or others. I do wish to know how you'd intend for these members to be chosen though?" It was a legitimate question. Knowing where they would be lead from here was important, who was in charge, who wasn't. And how new members came about. It was all important.

Also came forth a matter of non force members, he smiled underneath the mask. And noted [member="Samka Derith"] also responding to this, even making a suggestion involving [member="Sun Mei Zhen"] clearly. He grunted in affirmation, "I can agree with the latter also, if they have the skill, knowledge, or ability. All this force is is just another skill to be had, plenty of people have been able to mimic it's effects on the small scale."

Naturally Zrak had to make himself use the term Force, it was not one he actually applied to himself often. He had to keep attention to that. Spread his abilities, but he was always better at the elements, it made him stronger, it made him focused. It was why he was such a deadly warrior even without Shaping. Through what he had learned by the elements.

As Xanterus conversed with the other disciple, Zrak Ren, a few others arrived as well. A species he had never seen before, boasting nine tails that each moved to their own accord. It was surely unique, but could have been much weirder compared to the rest of the species he had seen in his time in this galaxy. Weird, but not the weirdest. As the commotion of those arriving and greeting each other, conversations about the chosen meeting place, and other random conversations died down, a serious tone hung over them all in the air. It was time to discuss what must be discussed. Sieger Ren was gone, whether dead or just exiling himself for whatever personal reason, his leadership position had to be fulfilled. Xanterus put on his set of shades as the sun angled itself directly into his line of sight. He folded his arms and scanned the room with his eyes, watching as the one who called them here, Amadeus, made his presence known and took his helmet off, holding it at his side.

"Thank you for meeting. I think it's important we discuss the future of the Ren, especially given our numbers and how many we lost against the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium. I have two points to bring up, in particular."

Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium.. Sounded familiar. It was possibly the reason his master had vanished, but he would never know unless he himself told him. Perhaps there would be a way to communicate with him. It was unknown if he was dead or not, however. That disappointed him. He wasn't disappointed because he had some sort of emotional attachment to his master, but because he vanished before his training was complete. He would have to seek another master eventually, but for now he'd have to teach himself among the other disciples. However, not wasn't the time to think of this. The order still had to be reinvigorated.

Xanterus listened closely as he spoke, recording the key points on a system within his right arm. At first, he hated it, but a cybernetic proved to be a useful tool. He considered going fully cybernetic one day a variety of times. As the Master of Ren spoke, he looked around at the gazes of the others. When he finished speaking, he waited for others to input their own personal opinions, these he didn't much care for. What he cared for was to have purpose.
