Fabricated by the Nomad, the Ophidian Dusk appears to be a normal, if exceptionally ornate, piece of Trimantium jewelry. However, the token emblazoned with the intertwined snakes of Ophidian Dusk is much more than what meets the eye. Within its jade casing are a series of sophisticated electronics, all that work to either identify a token's carrier or to guide the token's carrier to the Trawl. An interrogation response circuit combined with an identity beacon and short-range transmitter, all modified to fit into the extremely small scale of the token, emit a passive signal that to most receivers seems to be nothing but background chatter, but Ophidian receivers will identify it as a Token. The Trawl, as well as high-ranking Ophidian Dusk members use this to verify the identities of others so that infiltration is hard to accomplish.
The second is a navi-computer that is able to only input the coordinates of the Trawl, the headquarters of Ophidian Dusk. This is primarily used by those recruited into the syndicate by the Nomad, to guide recruits to the Trawl. Once arrived, the token broadcast them as a recruit for the syndicate, and as such, they are not summarily executed upon intrusion. While this is the primary motive for the navi-computer, it can also be used by agents of the syndicate when in dire need.
The Ophidian Token is the symbol and gateway into the crime syndicate; on the surface, an ornament with the intertwined snakes of Ophidian Dusk, but in actuality an identifying beacon and navigation device that will take its bearer to the headquarters of the Ophidian Dusk crime syndicate.
