The Obscured Pending Darkness

"For now somewhere cannot us be seen", Kixi replied. "Data you give me. Data of Jedi need I. This use I will, program holo projecters will I do. Once done, walk freely can we in here and work of mine complete I will do". Kixi finished off. Free-Eyes handed her the data and Kixi got to work finding suitable candidates for the 3 of them. Meanwhile the Gran fiddled with the alien like translator of Kixi's, as Vinskk stood guard and watched attentively.

Vinskk walked a short distance away to investigate the sound he thought he heard. It was just Free-Eyes and Kixi. "Wow, this is some alien chit here.", the Gran said. "I'll try to fix it ASAP. I just need to study it a bit." Vinskk came back, hissing, "Someone's coming down this hallway!"

Before any of them could react, a Bothan turned the corner...

Kixi skimmed through the data at lightening speed. She found the name of a high ranking female human Jedi currently not at the temple. Jedi Master Estemol Chieade. "Perfect", she thought. Quickly she attached the holographic projector to the data pad. The full schematics of the human female transfered to the device. Kixi heard the noise of the approaching Bothan. She attached the holographic device to her chest in the nick of time and activated it. In an instant, an image of a broad red haired woman enveloped Kixi's body. She looked like someone else. Jedi Master Estemol Chieade. The Botham saw the image of Estemol Chieade before his eyes and behind him Vinsk still dressed as an aristocratic politician. It was unusual for a human to speak broken basic and Free-Eyes was still at work with her device. Now she had to rely on the Trandoshan to do the talking.

The Bothan wasn't dressed like a Jeedai. No, he wore a light armor and carried a sheathed knife and an assassin's pistol in his right hand. The alien's jaw dropped as he saw the Jedi Master, the Trandoshan aristocrat, and the Gran, too busy studying the technology to even look up. His blaster fell to the floor as the Bothan turned to run, but Vinskk anticipated this, and he covered his mouth with one hand and brought up a talon to gut him if he so much as whimpered, spinning him around to face Kixi. "What the karking hell is Bothan doing here? Bothan is no Jeedai." His eyes turned wide as the Trandoshan put a claw right against his neck, warning him of the dangers of talking too loud, and as he let go of his mouth the Bothan gasped out,
"You smell like a...well, like a Trandoshan. Ugh, let me go, scaly. I'm obviously here for the same reason as you." Vinskk hissed at the Bothan and turned him to Kixi for any questions she had, Free-Eyes still oblivious...
[member="Kixi Rajki"]

"And reason what is that", Kixi spoke directly to the Bothan pointing her finger in the image of Jedi Master Estemol Chieade. "Reason us here not know possibly can you know". She said in terrible Basic making her lightsabre visible to the Bothan in a threatening manner. "Me tell now", Kixi demanding using the Force to influence his mind.

The Bothan laughed. "Jeez, that's the worst Basic I've ever heard in my life. And quit with the mind tricks. They don't work on me." Vinskk looked at him curiously, still holding a claw uncomfortably close to his throat, and Free-Eyes finally looked up, jumping in suprise. "That's a karkin' Bothan!" The alien in question rolled his eyes. "Thank you for stating the obvious.", he said dryly before continuing, "Well, you guys don't look like Jedi, not even you, toots. I can see the hologram. Pretty good though. Anyway, I'm gonna be flat out. I'm here to steal info. You guys probably are too. So why don't we help each other out? You see, I got in, and it was a pain, too, but now I can't get out. I'll be sure to reimburse you for your trouble. So, yeah? Tell scaly to get his meathooks out of my throat." Free-Eyes looked at him in shock from the rapidfire way he spoke and the Vinskk hissed out to Kixi, "What do we do, Human?"

Kixi pressed on her holographic projecter chest piece to reveal herself. "Actually Jedi am I", she said walking up to the Bothan and picking up his blaster at the same time. "Nice piece" she said pointing the weapon to his head. "Just a Jedi from another galaxy". She put the nozzle of the blaster right on the Bothan's forehead."Why you infiltrate want to Jedi!"

[member="Vinskk Revamp"]

The Bothan's fur rippled as the gun was put against his head. "Woah, woah! Take it easy, galaxy hopper! I told you, I'm here to steal info. Same as you." A glare from Vinskk told him that the info wasn't enough, and he continued, "Ok, name's Aeil. I work for the 'Net. You know, Bothan thing. Um, yeah, we don't trust anyone. So...I was assigned to steal some Jedi info and plant some bugs. I'm not the bad guy." Free-Eyes looked at him with curiosity. "Spynet? Damn Bothans can't keep their noses out of even Jedi business?" Aeil shrugged and looked to Kixi for a reply, Vinskk still holding him...
[member="Kixi Rajki"]

"I not here information steal not. I after one thing only. And you in my way you are", Kixi put her other hand on the left side of her stomach. Clearly in pain. "Tell me where bugs you put? Tell me or kill you now I will". The blaster still on the Bothan's forehead. Kixi didn't like the Bothan. In the end she was still a Jedi. She was going to get what she wanted and then tip the Jedi off that their systems have been bugged. Of course no one but her knew of her intent.

[member="Vinskk Revamp"]

"You don't understand. The 'Net has reason to believe that the Jedi are up to something. It's a matter of national security at this point. Oh, for your info, I'm an agent of the Bothan government. So you cut me, scaly, or shoot me, morally-questionable and reprehensible speaker of Basic Jedi/not-Jedi, you could probably start a war or something here."
Aeil concluded with a smug smile on his face. Free-Eyes nodded and added, "He's right. You kill or hurt him and you could start some serious chit here. I knew about the Shadownet from...well, a while ago." Vinskk shot the Gran a dirty look. "Just sayin'.", he shrugged.
[member="Kixi Rajki"]

"You idiot you are!" Kixi pressed the gun harder into the Bothan's forehead. "Do speak not to me about war starting", she hissed terribly at him then backed off a bit caughing in pain. She couldn't take too much more of this, that was for certain. The war starting comment hit home hard. Although she had ended a war most recently , she had done worse when having been forced in a corner. "Mako", she thought to herself, shaking her head slowly.

"Vinskk, let go of Aeil". He did so as Kixi still pointing the gun at him waived the gun to the right a bit gesturing the Bothan to move to the right. She put her free hand to the back of head. Her head still ringing, and with the strain of having to think more to speak Basic it felt like it was about to explode. "Free-Eyes are done are you with device translator?", she shot the Gran a quick look and then faced the Bothan again talking. "Vinskk get you my data pad and you have Gran program then other 2 holographic projecters with suitable Jedi look alikes for both you. I go now I will to get what here I came for. When done I am, leaving we are." She lowered the blaster and handed it to the Trandoshan. "Carefully watch him".

[member="Vinskk Revamp"]

Free-Eyes nodded to Kixi and handed her the translator. "I'm pretty sure it's good now, although you're gonna have to explain some of the tech to me later. It's fascinating!"

Vinskk grabbed the pistol. It looked clumsy and inefficient in his claws, so he tossed it to the Gran. "Point blaster at Bothan. Now, what is Bothan looking for here?" Aeil laughed and mimicked the Trandoshan by saying, "Bothan already told Trandoshan. Bothan plant bugs. Jeez, your Basic is almost as bad as Ms. Sunshine and Dead Bothans' over there. At least the Gran can talk properly." At this, Free-Eyes shook his head and began to speak in Gran, emitting a sigh from the Bothan while Vinskk began to look through files for suitable matches...

Kixi put the translator on her head. It seemed to work probably as it began to translate the speech from the Bothan into žüncåidiom with perfection. Well almost anyway as there was a bit of static. "Good enough", she said to herself. She pressed a button on the top corner of the device and a holoscreen appeared from it and covered her eyes. "Good work Free-Eyes", she said in what was now perfect Basic. "In case you are wondering, the holoscreen will allow me to look at a terminal with Basic writing, but looking at the holoscreen, I will see it all in my own language". She smiled. "I have a spare one on the Calder mit Arkhan. I'll give you mine once Mako picks us up". She turned to Vinskk. "Interrogate this Bothan, I'll be back shortly". In saying that she activated the holoprojector on her chest and turned into the image of Estimol Chieade, the Jedi Master and disappeared for around 20 minutes.

[member="Vinskk Revamp"]

"Interrogate me? Whoa, big fella, take it easy. No need for any blood to be-AH. That hurt." Vinskk had made a crude swipe across Aeil's chest, cutting thinly through his leather armor. "Look, I told you everything. The 'Net, bugs, my state of being lost and boxed in-everything. By the way, how do you plan on getting out of here? Oh come on, let's be reasonable..." The Trandoshan advanced slowly on the Bothan, claws bared, in no particular rush...
20 minutes later...

Kixi came running back. Out of breath, body aching, she felt like she was going to fall apart. In the 20 or so minutes that she had been gone, she had managed to not cast too much attention upon herself. The holographic image of Jedi master Estimol Chieade, owed a lot to that fact. She had located a terminal, used it, found a vault containing both a Sith Holocron and what she desired most of all, the Orb of Passage. All had seemed far too easy. No one paying attention to her, things being located and found, she even found time to program the system to warn the Jedi that their systems were being bugged in an hour's time. More than enough time for her to be long gone by then. All too easy until she had entered the vault and taken what she had been after. The silent alarm had been triggered. "Oh ooh!. Time to go", she had said to herself as she bolted out.

Kixi stopped to where the others were. Grasping for air. Her injuries from her earlier encounter with the Twi-lek Jedi Master were finally taking a toll on her fragile body. She could not afford another fight. "They're onto us, we got to go now", she said as she put her arm and elbow out in front of her and pressed on, Aeil's neck. "You are coming with us", she flicked her last holoprojector device at Free-Eyes. "Program it fast", she said to him, then turned her head locked eyes with the Bothan again as she continued pressing her arm on his neck. "You will come back with me to my starship. You will talk otherwise I will gladly give you an incentive to talk", she hissed as she spoke with pure disdain. She let go of him. We will walk out through the temple and out the front doors. The holographic disguises will hopefully get us there unchallenged. Mako will land the Calder mit Arkhan and we'll make a run for it from there. You Botham", she pointed a finger at him, "Try any funny business, and I will not hesitate to kill you myself". Again she looked at Free-Eyes. "You done with the programming, I'm kinda in a big hurry if you get my drift".

[member="Vinskk Revamp"]

Free-Eyes yelped, "Done!" and clipped it onto the Bothan. Aeil sighed. "Yup, this is what I get for serving my system." The Gran and Vinskk clipped their holoprojectors onto their bodies in a hurry, the Trandoshan still holding the blaster to Aeil's back.
[member="Kixi Rajki"]

"Okay, we are ready to go, I will take the lead. The Bothan will walk directly behind me along with Free-Eyes who will walk along side him. You Vinskk will take the rear". She eyed Vinskk and continued, "You have my permission well in advance to shoot Aeil if he fails to comply". Vinskk nodded in acknowledgement. "Good, now move, move, move". The four moved swiftly through the passageways and hallways of the Jedi temple. No one payed any particular attention to them as all seemed busy investigating the recent intrusions. All but one. The Twi-lek Jedi Master who had almost killed Kixi Rajki.

"Mako where are you", Kixi commed her. No longer caring if the signal could be traced, it was all trivial now, as any moment they would be discovered anyway. "I'm cloaked infront of the temple, although there is a lot of interference in the air. Impossible to use transporters", Kixi cut her off abruptly, "I know already. They don't have this technology from what I have gathered, but know what I did when you transported me into the the archives room. They're jamming signals in the vicinity of the temple to prevent any chance of us trying it again. We are almost at the front doors. As soon as you see four people running out including me, decloak and land". Roger that, "Mako replied", Kixi and co were almost at the temple doors by this stage, "You heard all that", she quickly turned behind her, "As soon as you get out the doors, make a run for the sole ship waiting for you there". The Twi-Lek Master had now spotted them. "Stop!, now!", she yelled. "Run", Kixi yelled to the others. The three were at the door, and as they did so, the Calder mit Arkhan decloaked. The 3 aliens ran ahead of Kixi and boarded the ship. The Twi-Lek Master, yelled at the far less experienced guards, "They are fraudsters, stop them... her!", Kixi knew that if they got to her that it would be all over, "Mako fire forward guns at the temple doors, now! Do it and do not question me". And with that Kixi forced leaped into the air as the Calder mit Arkhan's weapons came to life. The Twi-lek and the other Jedi had no choice but to take cover. Kixi last to board the what was a cross between a starfighter and a runabout strapped herself in, as the Calder mit Arkhan's engines rawed to life and rose high into the night sky of Coruscant, cloaking itself once more. They had escaped.

Vinskk cracked his neck onboard the Arkhan's lower cabin. He had just cuffed the Bothan with his trademark stun cuffs, and was now kicking back and electrocuting Aeil. Free-Eyes sat in one of the various seats, catching his breath, drinking a mysterious substance out of a flask while the Bothan screamed, "ITOLDYOUEVERYTHINGAHHHSTAHPPPPP" The Trandoshan remained unmoved as he upped the voltage delivered, then pressed the button on his remote again.
[member="Kixi Rajki"]

Kixi could see what the Trandoshan was doing to the poor Bothan...... And chose to ignore it. Not very Jedi like at all. Kixi instead just laid back on her seat beside Mako. The two female women looked at each other. Calm and relaxed. They wanted to do more more, but not while Mako was flying an invisible ship in the middle of a busy Coruscant sky. Way too dangerous. Eventually Kixi got up, stood behind Mako, put a soft hand on the right side of Mako's neck and slowly moved it towards her face. The half cyborg female human breathed slowly and relaxed. "We'll have more time for this later", Kixi softly said to her kissing her on the forehead slowly. "Kixi then punched in some coordinates to a small abandoned house. "Go back here, I've got business to conclude with that Gran for the use of his services".

The ship landed behind the small abanded house, de-cloaked itself and the five occupants got out and walked inside. Although not far from the Jedi Temple, they had flown there invisibly, and the ship was in a place that no one would be looking for the time being. They had no intention of staying long anyway.

Once inside Kixi retrieved her blaster and Katana. "Mako, please transfer one million Republic credits to our humble Gran here", Kixi said with a slight bow and hand near her heart. "That's the half million we agreed to for the job, plus an extra half million for all the extra trouble". She paused and made sure both the Trandoshan and Bothan spy behind her could hear. Emphasing she continued, "I'm a very generous and kind person. If you respect me that is. However, ever double cross me, and you'll feel my bitter wrath fall upon you". She smiled menacingly at Free-Eyes. Mako beside him nodded in approval and the two walked over to another room to conclude business. Kixi turned to face the other two. "Now Bothan Spy", she grabbed onto his chest with both her small hands, "I have an arrogant saying. To contend with Kixi is to lose". She pushed his big body close to hers, Kixi's bitter face looking at the Bothan in the eyes only centimetres from him with pure hate, "Last chance to speak up now as I'll do a lot worse to you than what my lizard pal here is doing to you". The pending darkness was close. The young and naive Kixi Rajki, blinded to her emotions for Mako Zaneca simply couldn't see it coming.

[member="Vinskk Revamp"]

Aeil sighed. "I told you everything already...please, just let me go. I wanna see my kids. My wife. Don't kill me." The Bothan looked, pleading, at everyone in the room.

Vinskk was silent. He had seen and heard a lot of information, like their names and where Free-Eyes safe house was. He had to be killed. There was reaply no way around it. But...he mentioned a family. Part of him was conflicted. He had enslaved entire tribes, separated families, everything, but for some reason, Aeil was making him feel something he hadn't felt for a while...

Free-Eyes nodded to his approval. "A job well done. I'm just glad we made it out of that one alive." He looked at the Bothan and shrugged nonchalantly. He was most likely going to get what was coming to him. And that didn't bother the Gran.

It seemed as if the decision was up to Kixi now...
