OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Obelisks
  • Classification: Data Storage Facility
  • Location: Asteroid Field in Wild Space
  • Affiliation:
  • Accessibility:
    • Very well guarded and hidden. The Obelsisks are located deep within Wild Space, scrubbed from any updated map. Multiple starfighter squadrons are prepped and ready to go at a moments notice. Very few living people know of the Obelsisks, since it is mainly droid-operated. Gravity well generators are also built into the outer edge of the asteroid ring, preventing people from dropping too close to the stations.
  • Description:
    • The Obelisks are massive data storage facilities located in Wild Space. All non-physical information about The Exchange is held here. Each tower is massive in size, built with an all-black reflective exterior, further hiding them from the naked eye. Fifteen total structures exist throughout the asteroid field.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • The Obelisks: These large structures house giant computers holding all of the data used by The Exchange. Millions of files are processed, sorted, and stored within the massive drives. The Black Market, stashhouse locations, credit accounts, political data, and current underworld associates are all found here. Each obelisk stands a few hundred meters tall. They are constructed with an outer layer of Phkalt Metal, further hiding their appearance. Only a few living individuals are found throughout all of the buildings. Droids to most of the work, mainly to keep the knowledge of its location hidden.
  • The Hangars: Within the mid-section of the asteroid field sits multiple hangar bays, housing a dozen squadrons each of TIE/SK Elite Starfighter. The starfighters were reengineered when a plethora of them were by Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae . Each hangar has a rapid deployment system, ensure that any possible threat can be quickly dealt with. They are all droid piloted and operated.
  • The Gravity Well Projectors: On the edge of the asteroid field are a collection of gravity well projectors. These prevent any would-be raiders from entering into the facility. By working to force ships out of hyperspace early, they provided the starfighters enough time to engage the threat and neutralize it. Built into these projectors are early warning systems as well, alerting the Obelisks and Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae himself of an trespassers.

SECURITY
Maximum. The first form of security for the Obelisks are the gravity well projectors, located on the outer edges of the asteroid field. These are working to pull an active enemy fleet out of space before they can get close enough. All of the outer ring has these projectors built into them, along with early warning systems to alert the Obelisks about any incoming threat. Next line of defense are the squadrons of TIE/SK Elite Starfighters. Multiple hangars are also built into the asteroid field. Each one has a rapid deployment system, able to launch dozens of ships in seconds. The Obelisks themselves are constructed with an outer layer of Phkalt Metal, further hiding their appearance. While the actually location is hidden, a secretive hyperlane can get The Exchange fleet there very quickly, helping fend off any would-be attackers. Various asteroids around the field also have turbolaser platforms built into them, furthering the location's defenses.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Constructed during the early revival of The Exchange, the Obelisks started out simple as a base of operations for the crime organization. The asteroid field in which they are built provided a very well-hidden base of operations. Overtime, the group grew larger, needing a large place to work. Moving to the planet Corva Yag, the Obelisks stayed behind, now acting as storage facilities. Massive supercomputers were built inside of the structures, holding all of the organization's data.

One of the most important files stored here is the data on the Black Market. All current items, previous sales, registered vendors, sale locations, and everything else involving the market is stored in here. This is how Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae , the head marketeer, is able to scour the galaxy and keep track of all its incredible items.

Since the collapse of the Hutt Space Consortium and the rise of Black Sun, the Obelisks have found a new collection of data to start sorting and filling. Assets within the Black Sun are now a part of the system's data, and are planning to be used to help them out in any way possible.
