Darth Malum of House Marr
The journey from Zodasia to Niamos was a long one which passed by a large part of the Galaxy, but Glar was just about at its endpoint. Both planets could be described as pleasant and tropical worlds, and most ordinary galactic citizens would see no purpose in traveling so far to exchange one for the other. But then again, Glar Ulchtar was not exactly an “ordinary galactic citizen”.
Occasionally, Glar considered what it would be like to be one of the countless everyday people who only appraised planets by how good of a vacation destination they made. The safety and simplicity of their lives compared to his could seem attractive. But ultimately, their lives would end someday and to those who came after they might as well have never lived. Glar knew that he too would die someday. But before that day came, he would carve his name into galactic history to be read long after his death.
The first small step in that process for Glar would be his takeover of the Pyke Syndicate’s outfit on Niamos. This would be easier said than done, but Glar would not be working alone. Before this operation, he had a chance meeting with a Human Sith named Lord Malum who had agreed to work with him in his efforts and provide the support of his own private forces. The strategy they had agreed upon was to launch a swift decapitation strike during a meeting between planetary Pyke boss Xoj Camond and his brother, Halko. After this was done, the remaining Pykes would accept Glar’s supremacy. Probably.
An alert on the Deathray’s hyperspace map display chimed, notifying Glar that he was about to reach the Niamos System. He pulled back the lever to return the ship to Realspace just at the system’s edge. After all, exiting Hyperspace directly above a hostile planet was perhaps the most infamous blunder one could make in space combat. For the time being, he entered the orbit of a ringed ice giant planet and waited to make contact with his associate.
