- Highly Protective: The material and construction of the outfit gives it very good protection against lightsabers and blasters. It can take a good number of strikes from both before it would be penetrated. It's also good against kinetic attacks such as standard swords, vibro-weapons, and slugs as well as sonic attacks. Beyond this, it also provides decent, but not good, protection against a very wide range of other attacks, such as electricity, elemental attacks like heat and cold, fire and the like.
- Hard to feel: The taozin leather when added with the owners void in the force abilities make it so very difficult to track him through the force. Or to even notice he existed at all.
- Gadgets: It is designed to give a handful of useful features for an adventurer. It can protect its user from a vacuum for twenty minutes, it can achieve limited flight with a repulsor system, helps keep long falls and other collisions from being fatal. It helps the user climb better, and even to stick to metallic surfaces. It can also hold a good number of items in its pockets.
- Smuggling: The suit has baffleweave to protect the contents of its pouches and secret pockets from scanners. It makes it useful for smuggling items.
- Gaps in the protection: The face, neck, and legs are all exposed with no protective covering at all.
- Limited defense: While it is better than nothing, it is only just when it comes to attacks from chemical weapons, acid, biological weapons, and radiation. While it can provide a little protection, it will not last long, and has nothing to protect the lungs from them, beyond the limited use magnetic shield. Acid it its mortal bane.
- Small: It has many pockets, but the space is still incredibly limited due to the small size of it all.
- Damageable: Each hit weakens the defense. It is most protective at the start of a battle, which is obvious, but the organic nature of its defenses means the scales will shatter and the leather will end up with holes burned in it, with each attack. It is also difficult and time consuming to repair. It's not something that can be done in battle.
For a being as small as the Librarian, it was a necessity to have a flexible, but highly protective set of clothing for normal use, especially on his adventures. He chose a lightweight, and relatively simplistic outfit made primarily from Taozin leather. The animal hide was chosen for its high resistance to lightsabers, blasters, and its ability to hide presence from the force. To strengthen the leather, specially shaped fireworm scales were entrapped in folds of the leather, adding even more protection from blasters, lightsabers, and kinetic weapons. Layers of a dathomiri and shell spider silk blend added yet another layer of significant defense in the hat and undershirt. Armorweave and baffleweave continued the trend, with the baffleweave forming hidden smuggling pockets in the jacket.
In the tool belt, a couple of life saving technologies were placed, to help provide emergency help in case of a fall, or sudden decompression in a star ship. The boots and gloves added small repulsors to allow minimal flight and a last-ditch weapon against attackers. Everything was dyed lightly in Norris root dye. A couple other additions and you had this spacers adventure outfit. It's the perfect companion for delving into ancient ruins, unexplored cities and finding lost relics. After all, it belongs in a Library.
