The Land Before Time [Latin Italiano]

Oh galaxies, that was awkward.

Kiskla had always trained her students with the view of no threat, no purpose. But [member="Valeria Aetani"] was not her Padawan -- and she doubted Cyrus would want a beheaded teenager returned to him. Instantly at the request, Kiskla's blade retracted and she nodded curtly; as if scolding herself.
"How long do you and your master usually spar for?" The kiffar asked. It was a roundabout and exploratory question, but it was evaluative for it's own purposes while hopefully not making either of them feeling anymore uncomfortable.

[member="Kiskla Grayson"]
Kriff it! She swore under her breath. Now she looked like an angsty teenager or a crybaby. It frustrated her.
“I’m sorry, Master. We usually use training blades. I didn’t…I mean…I don’t know what I mean,” she finally admitted.
Now she looked like a total fool, and she deactivated her lightsabre. She had stopped the spar because she had an absurd idea that she might have hurt Kiskla, and didn’t want to accidentally injure the Grandmaster. The lunacy of the thought now made her flush. This had all turned into a hot mess, and she had no idea what she was even doing.

"It's fine," Kiskla held up a hand "It's been a long time since I've instructed a Padawan who was used to training blades. I forgot. And you're not my student. It's not my call to push you beyond your comfort zone." She didn't want the dark-haired teen to feel off-putting, but she also didn't want to admit her own training regime, as it was reserved for more of the abrasive students usually. Afterall, her portfolio of one-on-one Padawans included a dragon, a descendent of Mace Windu, and an ancient warrior. All of which welcomed aggressive techniques.

"I'm more suited to training sessions with The Force anyhow." She shrugged, attempting to ooze a serene feeling from her signature to alert [member="Valeria Aetani"]'s metaphysical awareness that there had been no boundaries crossed toward the Kiffar, and she hadn't been offended. Only made feel terribly awkward -- still, she didn't want to cut the lesson short of Val didn't want it that way. "Unless you would like to continue."

Valeria was much less aggressive than any of those former students, and what’s more she had lived a fairly sheltered life so far, as least as far as violence went.
Still, she now felt embarrassed and weak. Despite the Master’s assurance that they could continue she felt it was best not to.
“Let’s…move on to the Force training. We can come back to this soon,” she said cautiously. She deactivated her lightsabre and hung it from her belt.

Hopefully this would go a bit better for her….

Kiskla nodded in an expression of comprehension and understanding.

"Your Master said you have a knack for psychometery." The Jedi began, introducing the nature of the lesson "Why does he say that? What examples have you given him?" Psychometery wasn't limited to the kiffar species, although many believed it was. To see someone else use it though, would be a first for Kiskla. She was keenly interested in what [member="Valeria Aetani"] had to say.

Valeria shifted a little awkwardly.
“Well, it’s not like the same as like Kiffar do,” she admitted. “It’s more like…I can take an object and get a sense of the person who used it…if it was used by someone that is. Emotions, light and dark, no images or pictures, but I can pick up a wedding ring and have an idea of what the owner was like.”
She wasn’t sure if that was good enough or not. After the duelling she was half expecting a rebuke for not being coherent enough.

Kiskla nodded while she considered [member="Valeria Aetani"]'s explanation of her abilities.
"These emotions you sense," Kiskla spoke aloud, trying to build off what little information the Padawan gave her "Do they have a direct effect on your psyche ever? Have you ever picked up a weapon that was used in anger, and felt that yourself?"

Psychometery could be a wonderful thing, very useful for tracking, but if not conditioned and honed, it could be devastating indeed. Especially if someone was unaccustomed to the influence of others and the pull time had over the present.

Kiskla nodded. "See that it doesn't, psychometery can be useful as it is dangerous. Remember that as you continue your studies of it." The Kiffar reached behind her back, and unclipped the sabre she had just trained with. Weighing it for a moment, the cylindrical strip of metal lifted from the palm of her hand and rotated delicately in the air, hovering just before [member="Valeria Aetani"] for the taking.
"Read that," Kiskla nodded "Try and surf the time to the most recent activity and tell me what you see or feel."

Kiskla had three lightsabres on her person -- for Valeria to assume it would be the same one she had just used would be foolish. However, should the Padawan explore the rhythms of time correctly, she could feel the temporary abashment the Grandmaster had felt when the Padawan requested her to stop. Before that, she would feel a calculated focus; one that belonged to a mind that measured the attacks to ensure there would be no unnecessary brutality. She would of course, see the spar from the perspective of the blade ; the clashing of the two weapons on loud barks from colliding plasma.

If she went further in time, beyond the most recent events, she would see the blade of Darth Vornskr, and see the ribs of the torso they had pierced. Further still, and she would see more that it had cut through be it metal, bone, sinews, cement, etcetera.
