FOREST MOON
PIJAL SYSTEM - UNALIGNED
INNER RIM
"For now it's a secret, but only for now." Jerec looked around the crackling, popping campfire. "And by secret, I mean we might or might not be the only ones who heard that Fledgling Mythrol running his mouth. We'd better get prospecting before our claim gets jumped. Come back here to the fire if you need to warm up, need supplies, need protection." He held up the orange kohlen crystal and gestured at the cold, dark woods around them. "Happy hunting."
A Jedi might value the forgotten crystal for any number of reasons. Kohlen had a mild Force resonance, and could create a less-lethal blade as a lightsaber's focusing crystal. But by far its most valuable property was its ability to power a fully lightsaber-proof energy shield using off-the-shelf components. And sure, a kohlen-powered blade could beat a kohlen-powered shield...but nobody in the galaxy had either one of them. This type of stone was one hundred percent forgotten.
Jerec rubbed the orange kohlen crystal with his thumb and watched firelight refract. This was shaping up to be a good night. Not for the dearly departed Mythrol, granted, but still.
