The Jedi Order: Proclamation of Peace

As the members of the Jedi Order lead by Master [member="Veiere Arenais"] made the long trek up the desert mountain from the township of Meru where Deneba's small spaceport was located, Cambria had taken the rear guard position. The Jedi Guardian did not mind this and kept a watchful eye out making sure the younger Jedi did not stray along the way. She was also mindful that trouble could appear in many different ways, and maintained a readiness should this become an issue.

Though the journey had been long by foot, it thankfully had been uneventful as the Force seemed to be with them this day. There were already other Jedi gathered near the ruins of the Jedi Enclave that had been built in a hollowed-out valley at the center of Mount Meru. Greetings, and the offering of tea a pleasant surprise. Cambria was quite the tea drinker as Sapir was her favorite when treating herself to a cup in her quarters after a long day.

The Rutian Twi'lek gladly accepted a cup from [member="Tiland Kortun"] with an appreciative twitch of her lekku and a cant of her head, then took a sip of the steaming dark liquid. The tea had a pleasing aroma and was perfectly steeped. When time allowed, she would indeed ask what tea leaves the elder Anzati used, but for now the mission was continuing on.

The young orange Twi'lek that had flown the Jedi Ace's wing while escorting the transports down from the Legacy spoke up after the Grandmaster asked for students to link up with a master as the group proceeded inside the temple.

"Of course, young one," Bri answered [member="Tin'tinag"] with a reassuring nod. "Stay close, and mindful of your surroundings. One never knows what we may find or come across," she added before downing the last of the tea in the cup.

Veiere couldn't help but chuckle in response to [member="Tiland Kortun"]'s comment regarding the timing of the older man; truth be told it had been some time since they'd last met with one another and yet his character was one that Veiere had not at all forgotten, one of faith like himself in times of silence and darkness absent of Jedi. Where Tiland would greet the others and invite them to share in some of his tea, Veiere soon found himself stepping away to look closer upon that of the Jedi Enclave. The vision of the old relic was a shadow of the memories that Veiere held, the chaos that the Sith had brought down upon the world and the Jedi that he had fought beside, some who had never recovered from that battle...

At his hip, his Datapad chimed in the notification of a message, to which Veiere frowned being pulled from his thoughts. Soon with the hand held device before himself, while having expected it to be [member="Lady Kay"] for the timing she usually had, it was instead [member="Romi Jade"], she of whom had seemingly arrived on Deneba. Tapping the screen several times in quick and selected succession, he relayed the groups co-ordinates back to his former apprentice and now fellow Council member so that she might be allowed to catch up to them; from there, he would turn back to the others and begin to draw them in.

"Come in everyone, it's time we had a look at our new home away from the Providence" he smiled faintly, genuine though his words echoed in silent the troubles he had found with that of Yutan's people and everything that had come since. "I realize we've been in a likely place before and later turned away, forced to leave...-This enclave will not be in an immaculate state by any means though with a bit of work, I hope to have it restored that we might all call it home...-Those of you whom wish to join me in our first steps towards that day, take care in your approach and be on guard. It does not feel as though we have company though in an establishment such as this one, left standing alone for so long...-Remain vigilant".

Veiere would soon begin towards the Enclave, the sun on his back eventually being blackened out by the shelter of the Enclave.

Romi had complimented his flying abilities, to which he nodded, trying to suppress a smile. "Thanks... I appreciate it," he said, glancing over to her. It had been his job for a number of years, after all. Despite that, he couldn't help but feel the relief at having escaped the battle behind him. That had been quite the strike force bearing down on them, and to be honest, he considered himself lucky to have been able to navigate them away from it.

She mentioned how the Togruta woman, still unconscious in the main seating area, the only movement from her being the slight rocking of the turbulence, would have to stay with them for now. It was certainly a complicated situation, that was for sure. "Yeah... I suppose we didn't exactly complete our mission, did we?" Peace hadn't been brokered - far from it.

= DENEBA =

He made sure the ride was smooth down to the surface, despite the dorsal starboard engine sputtering as it hit the atmosphere. That concussion missile had really done a number on it - enough so that it would definitely have to be repaired later, if not as soon as they landed. He'd managed to put in the coordinates that he was given for the enclave and made their way there, putting the U-Wing down in a courtyard-looking area.

When they landed, Romi was the first one off. Cassius went to the Togruta woman and woke her up. While she seemed apprehensive at first, nearly combative, she eventually came to her senses and agreed to come with the Jedi. Cassius was thankful for that - his hand had been discretely hovering next to his blaster pistol, ready to zap her into unconsciousness again if she proved to be as difficult as she had been at the negotiations.

As Cassius stepped off of the U-Wing, he couldn't help but squint - not just because of the sun, but it was also a slight wince as to how warm it was. The environmental controls on Rinn had kept the habitats warm, yes, but apparently they were cooler than average. At least the breeze was nice, but he could already feel sweat start to bead on his forehead.

"Maybe they're all inside?" Cassius asked, noting the footprints and recently disturbed dirt that lead up to the enclave.

At Tiland's behest, she took tea to sip but did not have much time to enjoy it as the rest of their group came to them at last.

What could have called them to this place? Arabi had to smile. The Force worked in mysterious ways and it had brought her here. There was something in the Force that spoke to her, guided her to a place where she would meet others of like mind. Just as [member="Tiland Kortun"] somehow knew the tea was meant for Veiere, a man she had never personally seen, but knew of. Even now as she closed her eyes for a moment and allowed herself to meld once more with the Force, she felt the pull. It was almost tangible. She was meant to be here in this time and in this place.

Opening her eyes, she found that [member="Veiere Arenais"] was leading the way into the Enclave they were going to soon call home. Arabi felt nothing that made her ill at ease directly, but the age and the abandoned state made her shift on her feet as she stood. Wind swept across her face, tickling her fur. She realized she was hesitating. Her eyes turned to Tiland and [member="Jagen Wren"] for a moment, wishing she had had time to properly enjoy the tea. "Perhaps sometime soon." Then with an apologetic look to Tiland, she set down her tea mug and started toward the Enclave after the others. According to Veiere, she was to find a Master to pair with. Having never met any of them before this however, she felt a bit lost.

[member="Cassius Droma"]

"I'd imagine..." she said under her breath, agreeing with Cassius' notion.

She proceeded towards the structure, knowing that they should've made it by now as her Master sent her coordinates earlier. "Lets head on inside and regroup with the others." she nodded before leaning into her first step.

The Enclave itself told its own story, and she had always heard of it but never been. Most would know she preferred more urban locations compared to the sacred structures of the Jedi, if she didn't have to be she wouldn't spend large amounts of time on location. However, she knew how much this meant for her Master and for the future of their Order.

----------------

It didn't take them long to connect with the others, and immediately she called for an audience with [member="Veiere Arenais"] to brief him on the matters at hand. With Cassius and the Chairwoman with her, they would all find a portion of the enclave where they could engage in their discussion.

"Well...the peace talks didn't roll over well..." she said folding her arms as she address her Master. "I'm also having this feeling...something more is at play here."

"When will I be able to leave?" The Togrutan Chairwoman spoke out, cutting into the discussion as her anxiousness was felt throughout the room.

Tin'tinag

Life is a queen, if not it would be to easy
She gave a coy smile to [member="Cambria Zadira"] "I have learn that no one can ever be to careful, paranoid on the other hand, that can cause problems". She stood to the side and waited for her to finish the tea offered around, 'personally, I prefer booze'. The grouped mulled around for a bit as everyone got with their respected masters and knights, before Master [member="Veiere Arenais"] beconed everyone to start exploring the complex. He was right the place had seen better day, though she was unsure of why the Order had been evicted from the last place of residence, why would people of a world in the Commoner alliance be upset with Jedi taking refuge in an old temple far away from civilization, especially with the fact it was been attack by the Sith either anyways.

It would take a bit of working but it seemed like a good home, better then place she had slept. Adhering Arensia words Tin'tinag kept a hand on the saber staff attached to her belt, 'note to self, get a new one of these'. "What might we expect to find in here besides some rouge Sith lord and droids"?

Nanna paused as they entered the hangar, holding back for a second. She reached up to hold onto her crystal for a second and cast a glance behind her before she turned once more to [member="Alexandra Feanor"], her ears flicking back slightly. "Actually. Could you go on without me Miss Feanor...? I forgot a couple things back in my quarters and I would like to take some time to prepare myself before I leave the ship." She smiled faintly, a little embarrassed, "I kinda forgot to collect them and get ready to go earlier when I began to hear the spirits once more... I was a little too excited!"

The young Beorni took a step back and bowed slightly to Alexandra, "You don't have to wait for me! I'll catch up soon, I'm just not feeling quite ready yet." She gave the taller woman a soft smile, "Thank you anyway though, and I promise I'll find you as soon as I can. Safe travels Miss Feanor!" The fluffy four foot child waved to Alexandra before she toddled off in the other direction.

The Jedi Enclave of Deneba was more or less a derelict of cobwebs and dust; the state the Enclave was left in resembled that of the war that Veiere had fought in, he had climbed Mount Meru and fought alongside the 501st Legion at the time supporting the Galactic Republic under the Command of Cyril Grayson, an old friend and Jedi Master turned from the Sith. Being back within the place brought back a wealth of memories that he sought not to relive, violence and death that day had been rife in the air and the invading armies sought to glass the world for all the hostility they brought down upon the local populace.

By the time [member="Romi Jade"] had reached them, Veiere had found his way deeper into the Enclave to where he remembered the Archives had been. There he had spent his last moments before the battle had taken place, speaking with other members of the Jedi Order and seeking to gain a larger understanding as to what had become of their people and had separated them in such internal conflict with one another that they would abandon the Republic and head to the North and Western fronts.

It was here in this place, where the shelves once holding datacrons and holo-vids of all kinds now toppled over that he almost tread upon a very peculiar find. An old tome of the Order for which he had not seen before, almost ancient and mimicking the decayed state of Deneba itself, the great book for which he took up in his hands was titled The Jedi Path. The irony of this did not escape him, the path was a term he often used to describe their livelihood, their way of living under the doctrine of the Jedi Order and adherence to the very code that he had given his life to. Most interested in this find, he was about to seat himself upon the rubble when his commlink chimed and announced his former Padawan, now fellow member of the Jedi Council who filled him in on the current situation.

"I'll be right there, Master Jade" Veiere responded through the communications device, pausing mid turn to look back to the old text and take the book under his left arm that he might further study it in the privacy of his own time. Though the Enclave was a ruin, it could and would be restored and he had no doubt that with the right amount of effort and pride in their work, the Jedi Order would make use of this place once more.
