The Heart of Darkness

Florn

It had been nearly thirty rotations since the Empire had pacified Florn, disabling the World Engine and clearing out a good chunk of the hyper-lethal wildlife around a section of jungle designated by the Emperor as a personal sanctuary. In that time, the Emperor had commissioned the construction of a monolithic structure that overlapped the delta of a rushing river that branched off into a multi-sectioned waterfall that deposited vast amounts of water into an even larger lake large enough to hold an entire city beneath its gentle waves.

To protect the structure from encroachment by the local fauna, a massive perimeter fence had been erected that delivers a powerful electrical shock to anything that bypasses its border. The shock had been tested on the various animals that the Empire had in its menageries, and had proven lethal enough to kill a bull rancor with a single discharge. The bodies of native animals began to pile up near the fence, necessitating their removal every few days.

The Emperor had discovered that Florn's hyper-violent and aggressive wildlife could serve as the perfect environment to continuously hone his skill and reflexes, especially considering the legendary mortality rate among offworlders on Florn.

A perfect place to push his apprentices to their limit.

That was the reason why [member="Darth Morrow"] had been summoned to this backwater, uncivilized world on the edge of the Empire's wide frontier. She had not been provided a reason, only that she obey.
