Episode 2
Aela Wren
Karasu
The Happy Mandalorian Casino, New Lessu, Scarif
Things had settled down somewhat. Two weeks had come and gone and Pravus' affairs were in order...just about. The repairs to the damaged parts of the Club were finished and the extra security that had been promised was on its way. Nothing quite like a minor assault on your home and livelihood to force a little change to your housekeeping. He hadn't yet told his father; he'd have only blustered and moaned about his heir being put into jeopardy.
A "good Core-worlder" like Prav shouldn't be dealing in violence and death, he could hear him say. Not much death. A little more violence.
The planetary authorities were a little less forgiving. He had been fined for 'inciting violence' and 'causing affray'. A 'breach of the peace' they had called it. He reminded them that it was he who had been attacked and not the other way. He had paid the fine and was lucky enough to keep his licence. He had hoped the Planetary Administration hadn't heard about it either. He didn't think the Viceroy was worth irritating.
She was hot though.
Shaking his head, he focused on what lay ahead of him. An event manifest. Various different foods and drinks and entertainments booked across the casino for the 'Grand re-opening'. They had, of course, shut the venue down when they had thought it best to.... remove... the remains of what had occurred a fortnight prior. Dignitaries and all manner of client were invited. He had even invited the red-headed honey Hester Shedo, the Viceroy herself.
Didn't even bother to politely decline/
Feelings hurt, he sat staring at the never-ending list of expense after expense, hoping that business would return as fruitful as before, if not more so; a fight added notoriety in quiet planets such as Scarif. He hoped Aela Wren would return as quickly as possible with the case of Trandoshan whisky he'd bartered from Tatooine; it wasn't particularly legal so he hoped she'd pull off one her 'I'm a magic miracle worker' routines that she often managed to pull off. He was glad she had somewhat 'stuck around' after the escapades off two weeks prior. She was good company...
The opening night was to be followed by a grand sabacc tournament, open to any. There was a grand prize, amount to be confirmed, and free membership to the club; there was a waiting list! With the preparations almost complete, he just needed to make sure everything was ready and in place.
26 hours to go before the tournament he thought to himself. He was hungry though and hoped to eat well tonight at the grand re-opening.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aela Wren was late. He had heard no word from her and he was mildly cross. He sat, scowling at the various denizens of the club that evening. People were busy signing up to the tournament and with the increased presence, he hoped Aela would have helped him make sure nobody tried to blow them up. He watched with intent, the night beginning to unfold. The first games would begin later and he would make sure as much credit entered the club accounts as possible.
