The Grand Hunt

Heklor. Stories had it that the world had once been a thriving center of trade and culture. Magnificent cities, beautiful scenery, and a natural balance between civilization and the wild. However, as with so many other worlds in the same situation, the wild eventually broke that balance. Those magnificent cities were now overrun by flora and fauna, with the scenery of the world taking on a much more hostile aspect as it evolved to survive in its new hostile environment. Since then, the world had become the site of only one thing of note, brought about by its very revolt against the civilized galaxy.

The Hunt.

Heklor had become the perfect hunting ground for those interested in the sport. The world offering creatures perfect cover, and often, the perfect location for which to attack their would be hunters. It was common practice for creatures from other portions of the galaxy to be brought in and set loose on Heklor for these hunts, and some of them still remained on the planet below, the prey overpowering and killing their hunters, and becoming the new predators of their environment. This constant influx of new species to the world meant that the local animals had to adapt or die at incredible rates, leading to whole generations of a single species being barely recognizable. Despite the risks, the hunters kept coming.

This day, the Fel Empire would join the ranks of those hunters.

Standing on board the newly completed flagship of the Fel Empire, the Soontir, Toran watched as the last transports departed for the surface below, carrying the creatures specifically ordered by the Emperor to be present for this hunt. It had been difficult to get them in a timely and efficient manner, but Toran knew the trouble would be worth it. Today, Toran wore a dark grey and blue uniform, rather than his Imperial attire. Toran intended to take part in the hunt himself, and a long cape would not be the best for moving through the dense forests below.

Turning away from the viewport, Toran made his way to the hangar of the Soontir, ready to meet the others who had agreed to join him on this hunt.

Can't say I've ever been hunting before. Confident struts down the hanger of the newly commissioned flagship, The Soontir, had managed to mask the noble's inexperience with hunting. One one hand, she had an ethical issue with specifically buying creatures to kill and hunt for no other reason than for sport. On the other hand, currying favor meant you had to abandon your morals every now and then in order to show your devotion to the Empire.

This was one of those moments.

She had no idea where to go, who she was meeting - apart from the brief acquaintances she had made at the get together Emperor [member="Toran Fel"] had hosted - but was assuming the strange looking gunship that was stationed dead center in the hanger, with little to no crew working on any other craft was a good bet to be made. Lacking an accompaniment, she continued her self-assured strides before eventually meeting their would be leader for the day, [member="Kaine Australis"]. Naturally, her loud and obnoxious voice would ring out in the otherwise empty hanger, making sure every single one of the 10th Mandalorian Assault Division knew of her.

"I'm assuming you're the Mandalorian who's taking us today? A pleasure to meet you, Isabella of House LaFleur, though you probably only care that I'm from the Fel Empire."

Titan stood in the Soontir's hangar checking his gear, he looked over at the Mandalorians who would be taking them and saw them doing the exact same thing. Apparently some habits never died. He put new clips in his Silver Thorns and made sure his hunting rifle was clean, before putting on his helmet and prepping it to be sealed if needed.

He looked around at the hangar admiring it and its massive size, to some he might of seemed distracted; but he was ready to hunt.

The naval officer initially did not want to attend the hunt, but figured that he could use the practice. Although Oscar wasn't a bad shot, being a navigator meant that this was a skill he did not often get the chance to train. Honestly he found much more fascination in His Majesty's starship Soontir and learning all of its technical capabilities than in the prospect of running around in the mud shooting at random beasts. The noble -- who by this point had spent more time aboard starships in space than with his feet touching the ground of a planet -- viewed it as crude and primitive in today's age and did not understand the interest in it that some had. Still, as he stood in the Star Destroyer's gargantuan main hangar bay he figured that he should avoid seeming too elitist and hide his disdain for this activity to be polite to the Emperor's Mandalorian guests.

He remembered back on his homeworld of Alsakan some nobles enjoyed the hunt, a very controlled one of course, but he imagined that what these Mandalorians were expecting was pretty different from what the upper class Core elites liked to do mainly for pleasure. In the meantime Oscar checked his standard issue officer's blaster pistol to make sure everything was in order. He was no slouch, but as a Navy sailor he rarely had the opportunity to use it for anything other than the occasional target practice or boarding drill during long voyages, and this would be the first in a long time that the young officer would be putting it to use in a real, non-simulated environment.

To be honest, Noatyr had always enjoyed the thrill of a hunt, even when he was the one being hunted.

Maybe it was the thrill of the chase? The thrill of finally taking down your prey? Or your hunter. Whatever it was, he was not one to miss out on a hunt. He had heard some of the creatures on this planet, maybe all of them, were edible, which meant he could increase his rations and maybe eat like a king for a good long while.

The thought of that increased his determination, and he finished up tuning the scope of his BL-28 sniper rifle, threw the strap over his shoulder, checked to make sure his Vibrosword was secured on his belt, grabbed his pack off the floor, and made his way over to growing group of soon to be hunters, who were beginning to crowd around the combat transport that stood out in the middle of the hanger.

[member="Kaine Australis"] seemed to be the one who was taking command of the expedition, so Noatyr gave the Mandalorian a quick salute, and the rest a nod.

''This should be a interesting little adventure comrades.'' He said with a small grin. He knew he was probably the only one here with no noble blood or with entire planets under their feet, but he was confident he could get along with his new comrades.

''Captain,'' He nodded to Kaine. ''M'lady.'' He nodded to [member="Isabella LaFleur"]. ''Sirs.'' He nodded in turn to [member="Titan"] and [member="Oscar Saint-Just"]. ''Noatyr Moldmerr, pleasure to meet you all.''

Mirage had taken up a job to represent a hunter for the hunt. He wasn’t to thrilled about hunting animals. Hunting people however was a thing he would be thrilled about, but, might as well do something different for once. His ship came out of hyperspace. He decided to fly towards ships within orbit of Heklor, instead of being by himself. “Am I gonna die to a bunch of animals?? From all the things I’ve heard, I probably will. Well then, I better bring all my lucky charms.” He said out loud to himself

Tevro stood a few paces behind Emperor Toran, Force Sight extinguished, leaving him in complete darkness. No need to put unnecessary strain on himself in an attempt to maintain the ability for longer than was necessary. Even without his sight, he could sense how close the others were in relation to where he stood. Three taps of his boot accompanied by the several echos of the sound provided a rough estimate of how large the hangar was. He employed his Force Sight for a few moments, turning to see a man in heavy armor checking his weapon. Then, his attention turned to the noble who just joined them. He was intriguing, though, in truth, all new people intrigued Tevro as he had everything left to learn of them. He could tell that the noble attempted to hide his distaste for the hunt. His stance held hesitation and resentment, but it also held the confidence that elites seemed to be prone to. But, enough looking over people. Tevro's eyes took to glancing around at the hangar in an attempt to mock looking around.

It was probably quite odd, seeing his red eyes look around though they perceived nothing that they scanned. Not that he ever thought about it much, if at all.

While he did not use blasters for any purpose, be it training or hunting, he did keep his lightsaber attached to his right hip and a vibroblade attached to his back. He also kept a shikkar in his boot, though he would not use it here, only in the one instance that he needed to use it. By now, he had long been accustomed to their weight, both sheathed and unsheathed. However, there was another weight on him that he could not explain. It was heavy, condensed, and focused to a sharp point. It seemed to press him towards the floor, though he didn't move an inch in reality. As quickly as it came, it vanished almost entirely. A portion of dread hung over him. He let himself go and slipped once more in darkness, kneeling down in meditation, letting his mind rest and taking time to assess his capabilities. Whatever this shadow of overwhelming dread was about, he hoped that it would out hinder their progress or harm any of them, Imperial or Mandalorian alike.

The faint sounds of music and a motor's engine would be heard from quite a distance from the hanger, however both would progressively get louder and louder, until the music itself seemed to echo throughout the hanger, and without a moments notice, a rather uninteresting looking ground-transport vehicle comes bundling towards the group. A young looking Mandalorian driving the vehicle and clearly thoroughly enjoying the music, with a woman who seems to be forcing herself to remain solemn and proper, all the while her hair would be getting absolutely unsettled by the speed of the vehicle with her in the passanger side. Raiz drove the vehicle dangerously close to the others, but it seemed he didn't care at all, before halting it only a meter away from Kaine himself. Raiz would jump out of the vehicle, before moving around to help Cassiopeia out, and leans forth to grab his helmet out from the back. The entire time, the music would still be playing quite loudly as the large towering Mandalorian man walked up to his father and gave the man a firm hug.

"Lets hunt."

Then with a simple press of a button upon his helmet, the music cuts from the vehicle and his helmet seems to come alive with the music instead, slowly the young Mandalorian looks to the rest of the people and lets out a joivial laugh.

"Rala mhi pabida bathas ja'hlid'r!"

Mirage got permission to dock his ship in one of the big ships. He walked to the ramp, and pressed the button for the ramp to go down. Once it was all the way down, he walked down the ramp and onto the hanger bay floor. He looked around at the big hanger bay. “Now, if I only knew where to go now.” He muttered to himself as he started walking in a random direction.

The Admiral walked off his personal Troop Carrier and walked off with a small troop of his Clansmen dressed in Imperial Modified Mandalorian Armor. He himself was eager to be out of his armor and dressed accordingly to his natural instincts to go off for a hunt. He wore a modified light battle armor loosing the helmet that was common to carry on a fight such as this. His long hear pulled into a bun that resembled an Atrisian Warrior. His shoulders carried the burdans of a light clip carrier vest and armor that was more just a decoration then for protection. The words "Ijaat at vi kyr'amur" etched into the shoulder pads translated to "Honor to those we kill". Two very large Battle Vibro Axes were held in his hands and a DD6 Blaster Pistol was strapped to his holster on his belt along with a small variety of grenades. He strapped a Nyati skull to his nether regions and let it hand like a ordinate meant to hid something. As well as some wrist mounts that were unknown to what they held and shin guards to protect his legs.
He walked off the carrier in a fashion that showed how eager he was to see where this Hunt was to lead them. He was also eager to see [member="Kaine Australis"] after the short time they had seen one another training Kays daughter. He was also just happy to feel the wind on his face, sweat on his brow, the unfiltered smell of all that was around him. He was even able to smell those Rancor that he had brought to this planet. Not feed them in several days on a derelict ship that he sent drifting before dropping on the planet of his companies properly. He smashed his Vibro Axes together making a spark as they sharpened each others edges just a little. Nodding to his clansmen to get back on the ship and get their real armor on, they were here to hunt, not show their loyalty to the Empire.
He Noticed the noise that was going on and walked towards the group, his men would follow soon. He was sure this would be a fun encounter between Imperials and Mandalorians. The two never mixed well and he made it her personal mission to show the two that having one another was better then standing alone should things go wrong.
"HA" He walked up to [member="The Mirage"] where he placed his arm holding one of the axes on his shoulder. "If you learn anything from this Hunt, trooper is that if you rely on luck you'll die, so have fun and bring as much glory to the Empire as you can muster," He put his head closer to his head and nearly whispered to the man, "And should you survive, women love battle scars."
He pulled off the man and showed off his height before continuing once more. "Wanna see mine?" He jokingly started to undo his belt that was holding the animals skull from where it was.

Cassiopeia still couldn't entirely believe that she agreed to enter the Hunt. Mostly, that she agreed to ride with Raiz to the rendezvous. She knew it was going to be a grand entrance, with loud music. She just didn't realize it was going to be grand music and nearly running over Kaine. Or the others that had congregated. She held on as tightly as possible, gulping as he drove towards the group. Her hair literally smacking in all sorts of directions, relatively uncomfortably. At least this wasn't a beauty pageant.

When they finally stopped, she pulled her hair back into a very messy bun. It wasn't like her hair would cooperate after the ride it had just been through. She'd accept the help out of the vehicle from Raiz, grateful to have her hearing back once he cut the music off. She grabbed her backpack which contained several items that she could use to collect samples from the planets biology. She wasn't really a hunter, so she had prepared to do other things while kind of hunting.

Her outfit was close to the one she wore last time she was on a planet, in nature. She followed Raiz over to Kaine, with a brow perked, "I'm hoping you're not the one that taught him to drive," she teased playfully to him and Raiz. With a deep breath, she took a look around the area. Looked like there was quite a lively crew here, after all.

She gave a slightly nervous smile towards the others, with a small wave.

Toran stood to the side of the gathering, his arms folded across his chest calmly as he watched the Mandalorians, and his own people he noted with satisfaction, preparing themselves for the coming hunt. Toran himself was armed lightly, two simple pistols clipped to his hips, and a long energy spear strapped to his back in two pieces. Given the threats they would be facing, and the general environment itself, Toran figured it would be best to be prepared for close to medium ranged combat. Smiling to himself, Toran began to imagine how the day would be going quite soon. Looking up as yet more late arrivals disembarked, Toran decided enough time had been wasted.

Turning to [member="Tevro"] behind him, Toran gave a brief nod before walking across the hangar towards [member="Kaine Australis"] . Despite this event being a grand expedition for equal glory and commitment from both nations represented here, he was still the Emperor. As such, he was accompanied by a single Imperial Knight, lowered from the usual two that stood guard by the Emperor at all times. He didn't expect Tevro to accompany him for the entirety of the coming hunt, though he wasn't going to turn down the assistance. Toran himself had been on plenty of hunts, and had received an extensive combat training as all children of the Fel Dynasty had, but against the coming threats they faced, it didn't hurt to have backup.

Nodding his head to the Mandalorian Chieftain, Toran turned to look back over those assembled in the hangar.

"You ready to get this started?"

@Everyone

Noatyr nodded to each of the newcomers, a slight grin on his lips. Things may turn out to be very interesting indeed. He pulled his transmitter from his pocket and shut it off, tossing the now useless device into his pack, just in case he needed it later.

The sound of footsteps alerted him to the presence of Toran Fel himself. Standing at attention, Noatyr nodded at the emperor, as he addressed the group, signaling he was indeed ready for the hunt.

This was going to be fun.

“Every bodies supposed to be ready? I just got to this joint.” He says to himself. “Excuse me, but, I have no idea what to do, I was promised money and now I’m here!” He yells to [member="Toran Fel"]

He stood, as if on cue, and followed over to a Mandalorian that seemed to call the shots of this event, spectacle, celebration, whatever you want to call it. He stood only two paces from [member="Toran Fel"], his left hand relaxed though he was prepared to draw his saber at a moment's notice. Tevro himself had mixed views on the hunt, as this was his first one. But, if it involved combat of some sort, perhaps he'd warm up to it.

The man in front of them was impressive, to say the least. His company was interesting as well, the Zabrak's piercing red eyes glanced over each man and woman individually, looking as some checked armor and others weapons. They seemed to be carefree and eager for the hunt to start. Nothing out of the ordinary. Then again, why would there be? But, still, despite the merry setting and mood, they were all armed and it was still his job to protect the Emperor at all costs. His hand position shifted slightly as his gaze returned to the Mandalorian leader, mentally switching from usual Juyo to Shien as if to prepare to block blaster bolts.

It seems everyone was waiting on this Kaine man.

Oscar gave a rigid salute to Admiral [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] as the man moved nearer to him and also one to Emperor [member="Toran Fel"] as their sovereign approached. The navy commander then resumed silently observing this band of Mandalorians, not saying anything and remaining as stone-faced as ever. He wasn't quite sure what to think of them. Although Oscar hadn't met any Mandalorians before he has had encounters with other civilizations out on the fringe of the Unknown Regions, and most of them were negative. Based on this and also naturally the aristocratic officer was distrustful of mercenaries, and his inner Machiavellian instinct saw mercenaries as not much more than pawns. But any ruler had to have a variety of pawns, different ones for each purpose, he figured, all of whom could be discarded when necessary. And if the Mandalorians or some other group proves to be a useful ally to the Fel Empire than perhaps their bilateral relations would develop into something more.

In any case, such long term strategizing was still far above his pay grade, and Oscar assumed that the Emperor had no doubt already taken all of these issues into his calculations, but his mind could not help itself; he was always thinking like this. As he stood there the navy commander went back to looking over his recently-polished pistol while they awaited further instructions.

Not wearing his usual armor he stood among the crowd watching here to protect someone so it was ES-06's job to make sure no one harmed the target if needed his armor is stored nearby so if a fight does break out he can be involved watching the people as they waited sizing them up the Zabrak didn't seem to pose much of a threat we do believe he would harm anyone unless in self-defense but many others looked to have weapons for the hunt.

[SIZE=10.5pt]Ugh teams? I'm not exactly popular on this ship. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10.5pt]For the last time, she looked down at the rather lavish hunting rifle she had 'borrowed' from a deceased aunt, unsure of exactly how to fire the weapon or even if it was fully loaded. She was experienced in shooting weapons - modern weapons that is - this thing looked like it still used bullets for ammunition, and from what she had remembered from watching her relative shoot it, made an extremely loud ringing noise that would alert everybody in a kilometer of her position. Yet again, her ceremonial red dress that she sported to every occasion probably wouldn't be too handy considering they were going to a literal jungle and it would prove to be a hassle when chasing down whatever expensive animals the Emperor had decided to throw onto the planet.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10.5pt]Probably not ideal for hunting. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10.5pt]She pondered whether she was actually going to hunt, or simply pretend to hunt, say she couldn't catch anything and go home with disappointment in a few hours. Folding her arms and closing her eyes, she rested from the amount of mental pondering she had just undergone. The slumber didn't last long, probably 2 minutes at most, after which she looked around to anybody who remained unclaimed.[/SIZE]
