"Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

The noise erupted from beneath a pile of blankets, sheets, and a pillow or two.

His eyes hurt, his breaths stung, his skin felt like it was slipping off, his bones rattled, and as his toes moved he felt a distinct lack of sensation within them. Kurt felt suffering like no being in the galaxy had ever felt before. Every vein and artery in his body seemed to pulse with the thumps of his heart, his ears seemed to pick up any and all noise within a hundred miles. It seemed that his body was at the moment experiencing every sensation and moment as though it were connected to the very air. Misery poured through him like water over Kamino.

"Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

The noise repeated itself.

"What the actual ka-" His own words were cut off as slowly the blankets slipped away from his body. "Nooooooooooooo"

His voice seemed to creep in on itself as he lethargically grasped at the pillows that covered his head. He shook as the cold struck him, though the ship was usually quite warm. Kurt's skin filled with goosebumps, his naked body being almost instantly covered. A naked rear appeared as the blankets were fulled pulled away, followed by his back and leaving only his head covered by the thick down pillows that Kaile had insisted on buying.

He didn't notice that he wasn't in his own bed.

A shake ran through him, a terrible, awful shutter that seemed to contrive through his entire body. "What...what happened?"

Kurt's voice was a strain, his throat as dry as the deserts of Tatooine, his mouth as parched as Geonosis, and his lips as cracked as the canyons of Jakku. Everything about him felt dehydrated, his body moving as though it had been put through nine hells and back. Another groan escaped from under the pillow, the one thing that remained to cover Kurt's suffering.

It's funny how things work out. But that's just how the 'Verse is.

This little adventure was going to turn out to be a lot more than Kaile and Kurt had bargained for... at the end of it all, the magnitude of the dark infused trinket that they would find would be completely lost to both of them.

Neither would realize that the prize at the end was one of the greatest and powerful Force artifacts to the known 'Verse.

And honestly, it is better for both to stay that way.

Vitiate was no joke.

**************

A smack of a hand against Kurt's right cheek would send the flesh jiggling.

"Get up!" Kaileann's cheerful voice would radiate through with the sunshine properties of the Twin suns... and likely just as painfully so. The woman was standing in Meyer's tank top and Bedunday panties, the dribble of violet and olive green spots gracing legs, thighs, hips, and arms.

Her hair was an artful mess, but her eyes were bright despite the wear and tear on her body the last while. Ain't no doubt about it, the past three days were rather eventful, so much her mind and body were still protesting, even it had been delightfully so. A knee went to sink onto the bed, the call of a cheerful alarm Kaile bought singing a little diddy about Jack and Diane, and the Lorrdian would give Kurt another smack on the butt.

She went to take the pillow from him then, hands fisting to take that last veil of salvation from the man who had done worn her good.

"We need food! And you need a shower!" a chuckle and then a sniff, with a curl of her nose "You stink!"

Nope.

That wouldn't be happening, none of that would be happening.

Food? Yuck. His stomach felt like it was empty, true, but it also felt like if he ate anything he would immediately throw it back up and more. Kurt wasn't quite sure how that was possible, but the feelings his body was currently sending him were enough to dissuade him of eating anything at all ever again. Perhaps he would learn to subsist off of nutrient tubes or IV lines directly into his veins. That didn't seem like such a bad idea right now, in fact, it seemed like a grand plan.

As for getting up? That was entirely out of the question.

When Kaile smacked his rear for a second time he could only let out a groan of pain. Not for his rear, but instead for the sensation that crawled across the entirety of his skin and took up most, if not all, of his brain function. It felt like a thousand wild ants walking all over him, jabbing their tiny little legs into him and trampling him to death.

Not pleasant.

"Nooooo." Kurt said as as he tried to bury himself in the sheets.

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

It started out innocently.

What had happened was that Kurt got wrapped up on Nar Shaddaa with some Sith. The end result had the expod racer sticking himself with an overdose of spice just to keep himself going to counter the sedative used against him.

That's how Kurt ended up back at the Mesa all glitbent out...

A5WjJS.png

"'Nooooo,'" kaileann would mock with notable amusement, as her grip latched onto the line pillow and the rest of the bed sheets, taking them from the curled form laying on top of the bed with a flick of her wrists." Was not what you were saying three days ago!"

Happy, cheery Kaile would be a strain to any sore head. A bounce came to the bed, the Lorrdian curling up on her knees beside Kurt. Bedsheets went fluttering to the side of the bed and pillows would sail. Another playful smack with a lingering grope came forthwith!

"I'm hungry, sore, and need fresh air!" She demanded, starting to reach up to grab his shoulder and roll him her way. She was as gentle, but firm as she could be. The scoop of Kurt's shirt went sliding down to bare a soft shoulder and the tips of strawberry blonde hair would tickle the side of his face as she hovered close.

"Maybe next time you shouldn't take all them lines of spice, hon." She sang, giving his cheek a light poke. "Reckon you too enough to be a certified glitbiter!" That last bit was edged with concern, her hand trailing to sweep over his cheek. He looked like thr Nine hells had spit him out and dragged him through the dredge. Patchwork tuffs lined his jaw, derp violet crescents under his eyes, and maybe even lost a kilo. With his hair all mused so, he was a certifiable wreck.

She planted a kiss on his temple none the less. Enter another sneak grope of the left cheek.

"C'mon I'll take you to the refresher. "

"Spice?" He shook his head as if he were trying to shake a memory loose.

He didn't remember taking any spice...come to think of it, he didn't remember anything.

Three days?

That just seemed wrong. His lips thinned, his eyes snapped shut, another groan escaped him as he tried to recall the events of the past few days. Pain lanced through him, as if his brain was trying to steer him away from remembering what had happened. Kurt winced, and slowly he began to feel the draw of Kaile's hand on his body, tugging at him so that he slowly began to flip over in the bed. Eventually his legs swept off of the small metal frame, clattering to the floor with two successive thuds. "I didn't take any spice."

Kurt said as he rubbed his face, though in doing so it felt like he was peeling off his own skin.

"Last thing..." He trailed off for a moment as he tried to remember again, wincing as he did so. "Last thing I remember is picking up that package for delivery."

After that it was all blank. There was no memory of where he had gone, what he had done, whom he had delivered the package to, or the three days that Kaile had mentioned. Everything within that time seemed to be completely and utterly gone from his mind.

Which is why they were here. Bahrain.

It's a nice little trade world near the moon of Endor, at the end of the Santuary Pipeline. All the local worlds within the Wild Regions and the nearby Unknown brought local trade here.

It it not being too far off from Zakuul... well... it only made more sense on how excavations would lead the Holocron of the Emperor here.

A5WjJS.png

“Up you go,” Kailiann would grunt out behind Kurt, hugging him from behind in an upward push to get him to stand.

“Yeaaah,” the Lorrdian began, legs sliding over the edge of the bed as they both came to their feet. Kurt gave another groan of protest, swaying a bit as he buckled on his feet. “Whoa, there!” The brunt of his weight came against her, and Kaile’s feet spread to brace herself as she tightened her hold around him. Taking his right arm, she slipped it over her shoulder, while her left went curving over his bare hip.

“Easy… them Nuna legs of yours need to get your head on right.” that’s when the awkward waddle began towards the refresher, Kaile relaying the tale of just what had transpired.

“You showed up all spazzed out and talking a dozen klicks a minute,” she say, carefully guiding him step by step. Left. Right. Left.

A sassy grin and a shrug.

“And more than a little bit feisty.

The morning after had been a mirror for Kaile as it was for Kurt today, legs as weak as a newborn nerf calf and nearly dead to the ‘verse with a lightly snoring Kurt at her breast. Only she had to deal with the withdrawal symptoms he displayed after. Had her plumb worried there for a bit. Thankfully, he sweated out the worst of it.

He didn't remember any of that.

None of it.

His head shook from side to side as Kaile managed to direct him into the refresher. A bit more clarity came to him as time went on, but he still couldn't remember anything that had happened over the last few days. Kurt believed her, if only because he knew that she wouldn't lie, plus, the fact that his brain was currently trying to escape his skull gave him a bit of a clue of what had actually happened. He frowned slightly as the sonic shower was turned on by Kaile, sweat, grime, and dirt quickly being broken away from his skin.

A wince carried through his body as he felt a hand on his shoulder, pressing against what felt to be a wound.

Kaile commented about something, though he was too lost in the ringing in his ears to even really make out what he was saying. His eyes slowly fell down to inspect himself, noting that he had a multitude of wounds and a few bruises that seemed to etch deep across his flesh. His lips thinned, and he frowned slightly. "Do you know what happened on Nar Shaddaa?"

Perhaps it was better that she didn't.

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

So to make sure that Kurt wasn't going to land himself in trouble... and once she was able to walk again, she set course for the next best place. Bahrain is quite a ways from Nar Shaddaa, but she also had some Galactic Alliance pick up to get here. A small package that wouldn't take long.

Something she already picked up prior to attempting to wake Kurt up...

A5WjJS.png

A snort, a shake of a head, and then Kaileann’s hands would continue their inspection.

“Ain’t got no clue.” she admitted, and truth be told it sounded as if she wasn’t too happy about that. Granted, at the time there wasn’t much to be said than doing. Kurt had been rather determined on that aspect, and Kaile wasn’t gonna deny that she didn’t need that much persuading at all.

“No folk blaring our comm if that’s what you mean, so I reckon you got your packaged delivered.” she told him, turning him round to inspect the rest of his back while the sonic shower resonated with its cleansing pulses.

“You got yourself in some kind of scrap, that’s for sure.” fingers traced over lacerations and other bruises that clearly indicated some sort of fight. “These marks ain’t me.” she joked lightly, but made a mental note to get him some bacta cream and smear it on the worse of the lot.

“Reckon some food and some strong caf might get you all perked up and right again.” hands went trailing lower to his rear and she just couldn’t help herself as she gave a cheeky grin.

He shook his head.

Food sounded like the worst idea he had ever heard of right now. All he wanted was to drink water, lots and lots of water. His head was still spinning, and he felt as though there was a weight sitting on his back. The feeling was an uncomfortable one, almost too heavy to bear. He frowned slightly, looking around the sonic shower as if he didn't quite recognize where he was. Apparently Spice had lasting after effects that he didn't recall from the last time, or maybe he just didn't remember those effects.

Kurt's head shook again.

Exactly how much of the drugs did he take?

"Where are we?" Kurt suddenly asked, realizing that Kaile had mentioned movement of the ship. It made sense in a way, especially given that their last stop had been Nar Shaddaa. That planet wasn't exactly somewhere you wanted to stay for long, both because the hangar rates were obscene and any place on the planet was at risk of being raided at any point in time by criminals. He hated Nar Shaddaa with a burning passion.

He just hoped Kaile hadn't taken him anywhere silly...or loud.

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

Which brings us to this instant... here.

"O-hh, just somewhere in the Wild Regions." That was so incredibly vague, but the cheer in Kaileann's voice could not be denied. Like a sunny, spring of radiant, optimistic energy, Kaile gave a cheeky grin.

"It's festival season," she told him matter-of-factly, turning him around to face her. Her hands went sweeping over his chest, playing with the whorls of hair there with a dribble of her fingers. A few more seconds more and he should be all good, she mused to herself, giving a nod as if rightly pleased.

"One of the largest bazaars in the 'verse plays out for a month out here," she told him, glancing up at the blearly eyed man through a fringe of messy, strawberry blonde bangs. As predicted, the crimson glow of the sonic shower would shut off three seconds later, and the overhead light would bloom with a soft glow...

Bringing into fuzzy sight the constellation of colorful, fading, bruises one Kaileann wore courtesy of one heavily glitbit Kurt Meyer.

When Kaile said the word "bazaar" all Kurt could do was let out a groan.

Kurt was well acquainted with Bazaar's, he knew very well what it would mean for him. People, noise, and smells that would make him nauseous enough to vomit all over the place. His eyes closed for half a moment and he attempted to take in a deep breath. A shake went through his entire body, as though he was trying to cleans himself of all the horrid things that had been infesting his body for the last three days. Everything seemed rather wrong to him. Everything around him and everything in him just felt...out of place. It was not a pleasant feeling and it was one that didn't appear to be going away any time soon.

He felt Kaile's hand's snake around him. "Okay."

The pilot let out a loud sigh.

"I need water." Apparently he hadn't had any in some time. "Then maybe..."

Kurt trailed off as he thought about what was going on. Kaile had in actual fact kidnapped him, or rather, taken him to a place where he had no idea where he was and no idea how to get out. Of course he could probably just fly away, but in truth he would be just as likely to crash the ship as fly it. He would just have to deal with wherever he was for now. "We can go outside."

Kaileann let out a squee of excitement that practically had her body trembling. "Yessssss! Thank you, Kurt!" she said with an equal amount of pep to her step as her lip found the bristle of his cheek. "I'll get that water for you!" she told him straight off, holding her hands out as if making sure he stayed still.

"You just rest there a bit and get your bearings... don't want you falling on over and smacking your head again." Again? Yeaaaah... about that rough and tumble earlier...

"We'll get you rested right and hydrated faster than hydroponic pond!" she sang, enough to prompt a wince and a grimace at her cheer. There really wasn't a power strong enough in the 'verse that could stop Kalie from being cheerful. Even a hungover Kurt. It wasn't to say she wasn't concerned for him -- she was. The past three days of taking care of him made that obvious enough.

But what girl didn't enjoy ogling a few shinnies?!

"Sit tight!" Kaile said, smacking him on the rear one last time in playful affection. Really, the woman couldn't seem to stop with that. Then again, who could blame her? Anyone could bounce a credit chip off of it!

He winced as she touched him again, though not from actual pain. It felt like his skin took every touch as though it were a foreign sensation that it had never felt before. He was so dehydrated and tired that he could have sworn he was still dreaming. Either way, Kurt sat himself down rather gingerly, looking around the room as though he had never been there before. Kaile flounced off to go and find him water, and slowly Kurt began to lethargically dig through clothing.

Getting dressed was hard.

Eventually, after what seemed like an age and a half Kurt managed it. Thanks to Kaile most of the clothes he had picked out were clean. She was rather insistent on doing laundry, and generally when they were at a trade port she was the one that took all of it and wandered off to get it cleaned. It helped really, and Kurt appreciated it, though he had never said so.

When he finished dressing, Kurt laid himself down sideways on the bed, closing his eyes and letting out tiny groans.

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

Before Kurt knew it, Kaile was back.

A soft chuckle and a cluck of her tongue would float over the prone male, "Here you go, sugar." her left hand lightly would thread through the locks of his hair, her left extending the full glass of water for him to drink.

"Drink it nice and slow," she would remind him, her expression softening at the low, tiny groans elicited by Kurt. A thoughtful expression would sweep over her face, her brows scrunching up slightly. "You want to rest a bit more instead?" she would suggest, seeing as Kurt did look mighty pitiful the longer he lay there. It didn't stop her from feeling a bit antsy. She didn't take well to being stuffed up for too long indoors.

"Maybe in an hour or so?" she could wait a little bit longer while Kurt got his bearings together.

She did, after all, abscond with the man.

He truthfully didn't even understand her, having half retreated beneath the cover of a pillow once again as soon as the water was gone. Muffled groans would come forth, though he wasn't sure if Kaile would actually be able to understand his words. Eventually however it didn't really matter. Another hour passed by with Kurt simply laying on his bed, his eyes closed and his body seemingly shut down. Eventually Kaile would find her way back to his room, this time being slightly less gentle with him.

A jab of her finger would awaken Kurt, his eyes popping open.

"Okay." A lethargic voice would muffle out. "I'll go."

He did feel better, though not by much. His body at least had begun to feel like his own and his eyes had some of their moisture return. The nausea in his stomach was gone, replaced by a subtle, but ravenous hunger. Everything seemed slightly better, but still...bad. Perhaps he now needed to eat something. "Just...help me up."

A giggle erupted from the small figure above him, and slowly Kurt felt a hand wrap around his arm. He felt a powerful tug and quickly Kurt was pulled up form his slumped over position and into a slouched stand. her shifted, his eyes falling on Kaile before slowly wandering towards the viewport that hung to the side of the room. A shutter ran through his body as he observed the rather dry air outside. This would not be pleasant.

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

"Here put these on," a pair of sunglasses would promptly get slipped on over his face, a wide grinning Kaileann taking it upon herself to ensure they were on right proper.

"Ain't too shabby, but with it being late afternoon..." the sun was bright, the air was warm, and there was the distinct scent of grilled game meat in the air. Not to mention the loud bustle and hustle of various space travelers seeking to do a bit of shopping of their own. The docking port where Kaile had absconded with the Mesa and her Captain was a rather crowded mess. It was open air, with scattered white clouds over head -- so they weren't on Tatooine. However, with as much dust and dirt as there was around the spaceport, it was clear that it could very well be.

There was more greenery than one would expect in such a dry climate, but by their appearance meant that this world had their own share of rain. And deep within the massive Bazaar, a singular Darkside entity seemed to pulse...

Granted, neither one of them felt it. For those who were Force Sensitive, they would... but unless they were a Master, wouldn't be able to really pick up on it right away.

"So!" Kaile would clap her hands eagerly, her eyes bright, and if she had that Yum Bunnies suit on, that tail would likely wag too with all the joy radiating off of her.

"We can go to the food court first!" she gave a half turn towards Kurt, who was now half groaning and blinking blearily, and perhaps a bit painfully, even behind the sunglasses she gave him.

"O-oorrrr..." both fingers went gesturing in a counter offer, "Go check out stalls!"

Kurt let out a groan as the sun first hit him.

The heat that pressed against his skin felt foreign, odd, as though no sunlight had touched his skin for years. A shiver ran down his spine, and he shook his head slightly as they stepped into the dusty air. His eyes almost immediately wandered towards the sky, watching for the thick puffs of white cloud. A sigh of relief passed from him as he realized they were not on Tatooine. He didn't really feel like going home at the moment, that climate would have killed him in his current state.

"Food." Kurt said in a simple one word answer. "Definitely food."

He felt an arm hook into his own, and then the pressure of Kaile pulling him along. The scent of unwashed bodies mixed with food and spices quickly began to assault his nostrils, permeating through him and going straight to his head. The pilot nearly gagged, his stomach still not quite stable after all the things that had happened over the last few days. Briefly he wondered if he would even be able to keep any food down. His head shook to the side, his ears barely picking up the litany of words that Kaile began to throw at him as they walked.

It was going to be a long day.

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

"Food it is!"

Ah, cheerful as ever. She even set off with a flounce that Kurt would have noticed had it not been for the painful brightness of the day. Kaile hadn't been exaggerating about the size of the bazaar. Just the spaceport alone was a maze to wander around, not to mention the constant throngs of sapients coming in and out of the main entry way.

"What you got an itch for eatin?" Kaileann would ask Kurt, smiling all wide eyed and dripping cheer. She was half holding him up, half making sure he wasn't out bumping into people. Smoke from the distant grills and pit fires rose in a gray haze. Babbles and bits of live and dead animals littered every stall. Some strung up high while merchants haggled with their customers, others draped over the stalls.

There were bubbling cauldrons, fresh fruit drinks, and even the sickly sweet scent of spun Onderon sugar, which formed this thick fluffy cloud like candy that just melted in your mouth. Don't even get Kaile started on the candied apples on a string and a stick!

"You want some Bantha Niblets? I can get you a few sticks!" she would offer, leading them along. A grimace drew over Kurt's jaw at that suggestion.

" -- o-kaay! no Niblets!" charging ahead, Kaile would spout out the various soups, grilled meats, and stall delights.

"How about some Nuna Pho?"

All food sounded good...but also bad.

It was odd. The idea of eating made him want to vomit, but the scents in the air and the thought of actually tasting that food excited him more then a dozen naked women. It was a strange feeling, as if his mind and body were pulling him in two different directions. Another uncontrollable groan escaped his lips as Kaile suggested something else spicy. He was almost entirely sure that his stomach would reject any sensation of burning almost immediately.

In the end, he settled on soup.

Soup was a galactic staple. Every planet had its own kind and every kind had its own flavor. There were more kinds of soup in the galaxy then there were grains of sand on Tatooine, and that was a lot. Of course Kurt hadn't even tried a millionth of them, but he was confident that with all the smells in the bazaar that somewhere there would be a tasty soup that wouldn't make him puke.

"Soup." He said to Kaile, a single one word demand that had him peering at her in mercy.

"Let's get soup." He reassured himself again. "That should be okay."

[member="Kurt Meyer"]

"Soup! Okay!" Kaileann said with an excited grin. Looping her arm around his, she led Kurt further down the stalls to the open food court area where sit down options were available.

This was a more family oriented area, the venues scattered with younglings and their parents, even a crying baby or two. Kaile didn't even pay attention, her mind was focused on the various hand written menus across black boards. Some didn't even have any, their bubbling cauldrons of savory stock, meat, and spices the only advertisement needed.

"See anything you like," steam rose from one pot. Oh! Looked like a thick nerf stew. Hearty and meaty. Then at another was a rich nuna stock served with noodles and fresh herbs.

So many choices! They could keep walking and still find others to choose from!
