SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The gauntlet prevents any external force from physically contacting the wearer without their consent.
  • This protection extends to both kinetic and energy attacks, such as launched projectiles, blaster bolts, electricity, lightsabers, etc
  • When an object comes within the vicinity of the wearer, about a third of a meter or so, a web of dark side energy is generated by the gauntlet that covers the wearer in a protective cocoon. This energy, while visually similar to Sith Lightning, acts as more of an extension of the wearer's body and does no harm to them.
  • Small objects, no larger than what one can hold in their hand, are typically vaporized by the energy web. Larger objects are repelled backward with tremendous force, while energy weapons are first absorbed and then directed in the direction of the wearer's choosing.
  • The Gauntlet has also been observed to repel certain Force abilities as well, including telekinesis. Yuuzhan Vong biots have also been affected despite their Force Dead nature.
  • At the discretion of the wearer, Dark Side energy can be accumulated and then discharged within the gauntlet in the form of a powerful fiery blast. The strength and extent of this energy dispersal are reliant on how strong the wearer is in the Force and for how long they accumulate or 'charge' this energy.
STRENGTHS
  • No Touch, Never Touch: The gauntlet prevents any external force from physically contacting the wearer without their consent, this includes projectile and energy attacks as well as lightsaber strikes.
  • Dark Side Blast: At the discretion of the wearer, Dark Side energy can be accumulated and then discharged within the gauntlet in the form of a powerful fiery blast. The strength and extent of this energy dispersal are reliant on how strong the wearer is in the Force and for how long they accumulate or 'charge' this energy.
WEAKNESSES
  • Mentalism: Mentalist abilities through the Force are intangible, and therefore do not affect the realm of the physical. The Gauntlet has no defense against such attacks.
  • Deception: Because the Gauntlet's powers are reliant on the wearer's consent, this leaves them vulnerable to trickery and ambush. If the wearer is unaware of an assailant, such as a sniper, then the Gauntlet would not protect against the unforeseen attack.
  • Gaseous/Liquid Substances: Compounds like poison gas and other similar substances can bypass the Gauntlet's defenses, as the web does not make the area around the wearer totally air-tight. Likewise with most liquid substances, although if the wearer were to jump into a body of water they could use the Gauntlet's power to keep the water from touching their skin.
  • Suppression: Ysalamiri bubbles, Voidstones, Force Suppression, and Force Light are capable of diminishing the effects of the Gauntlet; and in rare cases even capable of damaging the alchemical mechanisms of the Gauntlet itself.
  • Must Be Worn: Merely holding the Gauntlet isn't enough to trigger its powers, it must be fully worn for them to take effect.
DESCRIPTION

Designed and constructed over five thousand years ago by the ancient Sith Lord Ludo Kressh for his son, Elcho, the Gauntlet of Kressh the Younger has been a highly valued and sought after Sith Artifact. Resurfacing near the start of the Mandalorian Wars (3964 BBY - 3960 BBY), the Gauntlet was used by the fallen Jedi Haazen in his bid to usurp control of the Jedi Order from the Jedi Council.

However, his scheme failed and the Gauntlet was placed in a hidden vault on the moon Draay 2 far in the Outer Rim Territories. Following a battle between the Jedi and the Death Watch for control of the Gauntlet, the artifact was thought lost after being bound to a large stone and thrown into a vast waterway.

Centuries later it was rediscovered by Dark Side cultists, who fought amongst themselves and with their rivals for control of the artifact. During this turbulent time in galactic history, known later as the Four-Hundred Year Darkness, the Gauntlet traded hands from one group to another, often being used by small-minded despots to carve out their fortune when all order had collapsed in the face of the plague.

The Sith would inevitably get their hands on the Gauntlet once more, placing it in a secure vault on Dromund Kaas for safe-keeping. There it would rest for many years before being stolen by the Sith Lords Velok the Elder and Dissero, among many other priceless and culturally significant items. These artifacts were put up to the highest bidder on the black market, and the Gauntlet fell into the hands of the Sith Lord Darth Kryptus.

Seemingly unwilling to remain static for long, the Gauntlet changed hands from Adekos Kryptus to Darth Adekos, and then again fell into obscurity along with its Sith Lord bearer. The current Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Carnifex, dispatched an army of informants and treasure hunters into the galaxy to recover lost Sith artifacts from that infamous heist, and. after many years of searching, they returned with the Gauntlet in tow.

Unwilling to let the artifact gather dust again, Emperor Carnifex took it for himself and permanently affixed the artifact to his left arm; fusing the alchemical metal with his own flesh in a dark ritual.
