DESCRIPTION

Long ago, in the era of myth and legend, ancient tales spoke of a gauntlet of unimaginable power. When adorned by its creater and master, no enemy could ever dream of inflicting harm upon him...and instead, only agony and an untimely demise awaited those foolish enough to try. 'Twas this tale which inspired the Alchemist known as Isley Verd to create his own fist of power. The journey to bringing about this ambitious project began when the United Clans of Mandalore launched their military operation against Ord Mantell. There, alongside his kinsman [member="Ember Rekali"], Isley engaged a pirate base and ultimately made off with heaps upon heaps of treasure. 'Twas within that horde of bootee that he discovered a rare gem: a Qixoni Crystal.

From here, the next step was taken during the diplomatic meeting between the Galactic Republic and the United Clans. With nothing better to do whilst sitting in orbit above Ord Mantell, Isley set about pushing his craft to the absolute limit. Whilst within the confines of his personal vessel, the Blue Krait, he combined the principles of Dathomirian Magick with Sith Alchemy. This resulted in the alchemization of the Qixoni Crystal to a rare and unique level: where its core literally brimmed with Spirit Ichor. With this one-of-a-kind Crystal in possession, the final step in creating the Gauntlet was simply assembling the armor piece itself. This was accomplished within Isley's personal residence: Castle Ne'tra. Here, he once more combined the two arts in order to complete the concept.

At the conclusion of his toils, Isley then bestowed upon the armament the title: "The Gauntlet of Hod Ha'ran". This name was selected in honor of the This name was selected in honor of the ancient, Mandalorian deity known for his deceptive ways. Isley could not think of a better title for the Gauntlet, for its powers were more than what was typically associated with alchemized products. Aesthetically, the Gauntlet of Had Ha'ran appears as a menacing armor piece of onyx hue; trimmed with silver. Fitted into the palm of the Gaunlet is the alchemized, Qixoni Crystal; which brims with what appears to be emerald fire.

In terms of capabilities, the Gauntlet itself does not differ in the slightest from what is typically considered an alchemized product. Through the manipulation of the base metal, Desh-Terenthium, at a molecular level, the end result was an armor piece that is completely impervious to the blades of lightsabers. In fact, it is nigh indestructible; a fact that is standard with masterwork, alchemized products. The next step in preparing the Gauntlet itself revolved around the reversal of its magnetic polarity. Through this, the Gauntlet itself can deflect or reflect blaster bolts and lasers with relative ease. Furthermore, the armor piece is characterized by a unique relationship with force-based electricity. In specifics, it acts as a lightning rod: attracting and absorbing Force-based electricity into the Qixoni Crystal fitted into the palm of the Gauntlet. However, it is to be noted that, unlike typical master-work pieces, the Gauntlet itself and its gem do not possess a literal nexus of Dark Side power. (Yet it is to be noted that the Gauntlet and gem are highly reactive to the Force; thereby making it easier to utilize techniques such as Force Weapon upon it.)

The Qixoni Crystal fitted into the palm of the Gauntlet is the focal point and keystone of the Gauntlet as a whole; and possesses its own unique qualities. It, like the Gauntlet itself, has been molecularly adjusted in order to enjoy the same durability. However, as opposed to simply reversing its magnetic polarity, Isley applied the intersection of Dathomirian Magick and Sith Alchemy differently. This augmented the "standard" feature found in alchemical products, the attraction and absorption of Force-based electricity, into something much, much more. The gem itself can attract and absorb the bolts of blasters, minor lasers, and energy from the blades of lightsabers. These energies are then amassed within the crystal and subsequently released at the discretion of the user; taking the form of an exceptional blast of Dark Side power. This blast has demonstrated the might to punch through solid duracrete, dent durasteel, and has a pronounced burning effect upon materials stronger than the aforementioned substances.

However, despite how exceptional this quality and the Gaunlet overall are, they are not without their drawbacks. First and foremost, despite the utilization of Desh-Terenthium as the metal of choice, the alchemization process resulted in an armor piece with a total weight of almost two kilograms. This is much heavier than the average gauntlet or glove incorporated into most armors, and therefore it cannot be utilized as a "hands free" defense against lightsabers; for a duelist of moderate to advanced skill will be able to outmaneuver the motions of the Gauntlet's wearer. Second, as aforementioned, the Gauntlet does not possess a literal nexus of Dark Side power...but the Dark Side aura that it does possess has been demonstrated to have a negative effect upon weaker minds. If it ever falls into the hands of one who's mind is of average strength, a burning desire is placed within the wielder to feed the Gauntlet. This would therefore turn into an obsession to expose the Gauntlet to all sorts of energies...which leads to the most dangerous of the armor piece's shortcomings.

While the gem can handle energies from the blades of lightsabers, blaster bolts, minor lasers, and Force-based electricity, anything larger will result in the overloading of the crystal. (What's more, if the wielder does not release the absorbed energies within the gem, this too can and will cause the overloading of the Crystal.) For example, if the wielder were "ambitious" enough to attempt to absorb a turbolaser bolt or the blast from a tank's laser cannon, the crystal would instantly overload. Therefore, on top of the damage faced by these offenses, the user would be subject to a monumental explosion as the crystal overloads. This is more than enough of an explosion to result in the loss of a limb; and more than likely the loss of life as well. However, as a whole, the Gauntlet of Had Ha'ran is an exceptionally unique piece of equipment that is an excellent form of defense against common, battlefield threats.
