GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Sluis Van

  • Notable Assets: Various barracks, training facilities and off-site storage facilities as well as a massive stockpile of weapons and other military gear
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The Legion is commanded overall by Noah Corek but he delegates the minute details and field command of the Legion’s combat units to trusted regimental commanders. The Legion is different from most mercenary/private military corporations by having a actual defined rank structure. However these ranks are obtained solely through merit and previous experience.
    • Legionnaire (LEG): The most basic rank within the Legion, identified by a single silver diagonal lines.
    • Legionnaire First Class/Specialist 1 (LFC/SP1): The second most basic rank in the Legion, identified by two silver diagonal lines. At this rank Legionnaires with technical backgrounds can instead enter into support units with the rank of Specialist 1.
    • Senior Legionnaire/Specialist 2 (SRL/SP2): The third most basic rank within the Legion, identified by three silver diagonal lines. Legionnaires at this rank are often more trusted and experienced with more complicated weapon systems or being combat medics. More technically skilled Specialist 1's can be promoted to Specialist 2.
    • Lance Corporal/Specialist 3 (LCPL/SP3): The first rank with command responsibility, identified by a single inverted golden chevron. Lance Corporals lead the fireteams within the Legion's various infantry units. Specialist 2's that show leadership potential can be promoted to Specialist 3 and lead support teams.
    • Corporal (CPL): The first rank to be considered a non-commissioned officer within the Legion, identified by two inverted golden chevron's. Corporals act as assistant squad leader and comms operator withing the Legion's infantry squad, using the comms to direct the squad according to the squad leader.
    • Sergeant (SGT): The second non-commissioned officer rank within the Legion, identified by three inverted golden chevrons. Sergeants are the backbone of the Legion's infantry units, acting as the squad leaders for every type of infantry unit that the Legion deploys as well as important roles in other units.
    • Platoon Sergeant (PSG): The senior non-commissioned officer rank within a platoon in the Legion, identified by three inverted and one normal golden chevron. Platoon Sergeants act as the second in command for platoons within the Legion.
    • Company Sergeant (CSG): The senior non-commissioned officer rank within a company in the Legion, identified by three inverted and two normal golden chevrons. Much like the former rank the Company Sergeant is the second in command for companies as well as a liaison between the company commander and Platoon Sergeants.
    • Battalion Sergeant (BSG): The senior non-commissioned officer rank within a battalion in the Legion, identified by three inverted and three normal golden chevrons. Much like the two former ranks the Battalion Sergeant is the second in command of a battalion, is a liaison between lower Sergeants but also takes on less combat oriented tasks but more organizational tasks.
    • Regiment Sergeant (RSG): The senior non-commissioned officer rank within a regiment in the Legion and within the Legion itself, identified by three inverted and three normal golden chevrons with a golden diamond in the middle. The Regiment Sergeant performs duties like the former ranks but they take on a more administrative role within their unit that other NCO's.
    • Lieutenant (LT): The most junior officer rank within the Legion, identified by a single vertical silver and black bar. Lieutenants more often than not command infantry units within the Legion as well as overseeing smaller support units.
    • Senior Lieutenant (SLT): The second most junior officer rank within the Legion, identified by two attached vertical silver and black bars. Senior Lieutenants command infantry units like the former rank but can also be put into commands that require a more senior officer, such as tank platoon leader or artillery battery commander.
    • Captain (CPT): The most often considered 'middle' rank for Legion officers, identified by three attached vertical silver and black bars. Captains command company sized units within the Legion and larger support units.
    • Major (MAJ): The second highest combat rank and highest support rank in the Legion, identified by four attached vertical silver and black bars. Majors commander battalions within the Legion and its largest support units that are usually attached to regiments.
    • Colonel (COL): The highest combat rank within the Legion, identified by four attached vertical silver and black bars with a gold diamond in the middle. Colonels command regiments, the largest combat units within the Legion, and are more often than not handpicked by Noah himself and extremely trusted.
    • Commandant (COM): The rank that Noah Corek currently holds in the Legion as the overall commander within it, identified by four horizontal silver bars with three black lines in them with a single gold star. This rank is main symbolical and as such Noah delegates most of the running of the Legion to the Colonels.
  • Membership: 'Every Legionnaire is a Rifleman.' Noah coined this phrase for the Legion as it espouses the belief, and the fact, that every Legionnaire no matter what section of the Legion they decide to go into that they receive the same basic instruction as all other Legionnaires. This basic instruction is a 15-week course split into 5 individual three week courses that every Legionnaire attends after signing onto the organization. The first three weeks consists of physical and mental conditioning to prepare the Legionnaires for the rest of their training. The second three weeks consist of basic combat skills such as rifle and pistol marksmanship, hand to hand combat of which the Legion teaches their own special brand, knife fighting and combat first aid. The third three weeks consists of survival training from surviving in everything from forest to jungles to frozen tundras. The fourth three weeks consist of learning small units tactics such as patrolling, fire and movement, ambushes, defensive fortification building, breaking contact and fighting withdrawal. The last three weeks are spent in a massive field training exercise meant to test the skills they had learned during the previous twelve weeks. After a graduation ceremony the newly minted Legionnaires go to further training and specialize in whatever job it is the wish to perform in the Legion.
    • Legion Combat Corps: The Combat Corps of Galactic Foreign Legion is the main combat force of the Legion and consists of almost every type of combat unit one could think of from your normal leg infantry to main battle tank units and even special forces.

The Infantry Division consists of a wide variety of infantry from your standard light infantry to mechanized infantry and even your more specialized types like airborne, air assault and ranger infantry.
      • Artillery Division: The Artillery division if the field artillery combat branch of the Galactic Foreign Legion. The Artillery Division is responsible for the operation of indirect fire support, through the use of howitzers, that are not organic to the Infantry Division, aka larger than mortars.
      • Armored Division: The Armored Division is the armored warfare combat branch of the Galactic Foreign Legion. The Armored Division is responsible for operating the wive variety of armored vehicles in the Legion from armored personnel carriers to infantry fighting vehicles and all the way up to main battle tanks.
      • Air Wing: The Air Wing is the combat aviation branch of the Galactic Foreign Legion. The Air Wing is responsible for the operation of both transport and attack aircraft for the Legion, with the transport section move soldiers to and fro on the battlefield and the attack section providing close air support for troops on the ground.
      • Special Operations Division: The Special Operations Division is the special operations forces branch of the Galactic Foreign Legion. The Special Operations Division is the most well trained, well equipped and battle hardened branch of the Legion with many of its members coming directly from previous special forces backgrounds, though if not they have to spend five years minimum in the Legion. This branch consists of mainly the Legion's Advanced Reconnaissance Commandos but also is compromised of other units.
    • Legion Support Service: The Support Service consists of everything from medical support for personnel, maintenance support for weapons, vehicles and equipment and even financial support. Though non-combatants in nature each Legionnaire of the Support Service receives the same basic training as the Combat Corps Legionnaires.
      • Medical Corps: The Medical Corps employs everything from doctors to dentists to dieticians to support the Legionnaires and keep them in tip top shape off and on the battlefield.

      • Financial Corps: The Financial Corps employs a wide variety financial experts, from payroll specialists to make sure each Legionnaire gets paid correctly and on time corporate accountants to track the more macro finances of the Legion to forensic accountants who investigate any potential financial irregularities that might arise.
    • Legion Intelligence Service: A novel concept for a private military corporation, the Intelligence Service gives the Legion an edge over your run of the mill mercenary group as they can leverage this as well as their extensive training and high quality weaponry as yet another advantage against any potential adversary. It is of note that when gathering intelligence in the territory under the control of large interplanetary governments such as the Galactic Alliance, Eternal Empire, Silver Concord, etc. the Legion is careful not to break any laws that might get them sanctioned or banned.
      • HUMINT Section: The HUMINT Section is responsible for the collection of human intelligence, a catch all term used for the description of gathering intelligence from interpersonal contact with sentient and/or organic sources such as paid informants, double agents and spies.
      • SIGINT Section: The SIGINT Section is responsible for the collection of signals intelligence such as enemy communications, electronic transmission and encrypted communications.
      • CULTINT Section: The CULTINT Section is responsible for the collection of cultural intelligence such as the customs and quirks of any local peoples the Legion may interact with as to avoid in incidents that might hinder Legionnaires in their jobs.
      • TECHINT Section: The TECHINT Section is responsible for the collection of technical intelligence which is intelligence relating to the weapons and equipment that is used by any hostile force that Legionnaires might encounter.
      • GEOINT Section: The GEOINT Section is responsible for the collection of geospatial intelligence which is intelligence relating to the battlefield itself including terrain, environment, weather and local structures.
  • Climate: Being a mercenary organization the danger is obvious though recruits still flock to the organization due to competitive pay rates, benefits and their reputation.
  • Reputation: The Legion’s reputation is that of a professional, honest and fair mercenray organization that will take almost any contract no matter the size; though they won’t work for organizations like the Sith Empire, CIS or other organizations such as these and also won’t work for criminal cartels.
  • Curios: After passing the Gauntlet the new members of the Legion are given a challenge coin with the date of their graduation and group and class number on one side and the insignia and motto of the Legion on the other. As well as this challenge coin they also receive a Dells Fighting Knife, something they had trained with already.
  • Rules: Each legionnaire is expected to follow a set of rules that they agree to before even beginning their training:
    1. Remember that at all times you volunteered and are a representative of the Legion and your behavior reflects on the Legion
    2. Remember that your fellow Legionnaires, no matter their former allegiances, have agreed to follow the same rules as you and receive the same training as you
    3. Remember that no matter what you can take pride in the fact that you are a Legionnaire
    4. Remember that you are a Legionnaire, an elite soldier who has been trained to the highest standards and it is your duty to maintain those standards
    5. Remember that as a Legionnaire that you promise to complete the mission to the best of your ability and this may mean giving up your life
    6. Remember that as Legionnaire you will conduct yourself honorably in combat, this means fighting without hate or malice
    7. Remember as a legionnaire you must respect your enemy no matter your personal views on them and as such never lay down your arms in the face of the enemy
    8. Remember that as a Legionnaire you ultimate loyalty is to your fellow Legionnaire and as such your shall never abandon them, alive or dead
  • Goals: Noah's goal behind founding the GFL was two-fold, the first was to obviously provide another source of income on top of his other sources. The second second goal however was more altruistic in nature: to allow former soldiers to keep doing something they believed in, for better pay as well, and for allowing those who never had the chance to serve to do so.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The idea of the Legion had always been something that Noah had toyed with creating, a private military/mercenary group where former allegiances didn't matter and you simply fought for two things: money and the man or woman standing next to you. It wasn't until recent events with the downfall of the Outer Planets Alliance that Noah saw the need for such a thing.

It was with this that Noah reached out to old friends, and even a couple old enemies, to gauge their interest in being part of an organization. He was surprised when he received more than a few interested replies and so Noah began to gather resources to form the organization. The first thing needed was obviously credits, which Noah was easily able to acquire from his company, Hekler'Kok Defense Industries.

Using this surplus of capital Noah purchased a tract of land on Sluis Van, able to get it on the cheap because of the worlds former Omega Protectorate membership and him being a former member of the Omega Pyre. Once the land was bought Noah began construction of a base and with this he began recruiting outside of those he had already contacted.

This initial recruitment drive turned out better than Noah had originally hoped as he attracted interested parties from all walks of life. Mandalorian and Echani, soldiers and mercenaries, Imperials and Republicans, novices and veterans, they all came to join the Legion and they all were welcome.

After this Noah, along with help from his old friend Delila Castillon Delila Castillon , set up training program that all members of the Legion, no matter their former experience. With these basic building blocks done the first batch of legionnaires were trained and formed the first unit of 250 legionnaires. Instead of using these legionnaires for missions Noah instead decide to use them as force multipliers, teaching the skills they had learned to even more recruits.

This process went on for a few more training cycles before a sizable force of legionnaires was finally created Noah set them to work, using the influence he had earned from his years of fighting around the galaxy to secure contracts in warzones and conflicts. With these contracts the Legion began to make a name for themselves which lead to more recruits which lead to more contracts and this snowballed into five years later with them owning various facilities in the Sluis Van and Elrood sectors and having a force of thirty-three thousand combat personnel and two thousand support personnel.
