STRENGTHS

Bit Of A Hot Shot: The Firedrake fires a concentrated form of highly destructive fusion plasma, capable of burning through a target due to the intense heat of each shot.
Faster Than A Speeding Blaster Bolt: Because of the high velocity of the plasma fired from the Firedrake, this weapon is ideal for taking out fast moving targets and even lightly armoured speeders.

WEAKNESSES

Hot Topato: While Dallorian Alloy used in the construction mitigates the issue in the immediate short term, prolonged use of the Firedrake will invariably cause the weapon to overheat and has lead to shot displacement due to barrel warping.
Danger Close: For some pretty obvious reasons involving super heated plasma, it is incredibly ill-advised to fire this weapon in close quarters. A good rule of thumb is that if you're close enough to even think about using the strikeplate, you're too way close to fire. Ten feet or more is a solid recommendation. Fifteen being ideal.
Strike Me Down: The Cortosis-Weave and Duraplast only makes this weapon resistant to glancing blows from a lightsaber, with direct applications and prolonged contact quickly negating this feature.
This is My Boom Stick: A Fusion Plasma Cell isn’t exactly the most stable of ammunition. Sufficient damage to this weapon can cause it to explode with spectacular and fiery results.

DESCRIPTION

Like the name suggests, the Firedrake is an incredibly hot little addition to Tricks of the Trade’s growing arsenal. Utilizing technology that makes even the military industrial complex a little leery at sanctioning, it brings a great deal of destructive power to the table for its modest size, capable of firing fourteen rounds of supercharged, concentrated fusion plasma. Ideal for taking down heavily armed infantry, lightly armored vehicles, or just sending a rather graphic statement of intent. You know who you are.
As a trade off for this raw power it can readily bring to bear, the Firedrake has an unfortunate underlying issue with overheating that was never quite resolved during the weapon’s development phase. While the Dallorian Alloy plated barrels have helped lessen the issue considerably, the weapon itself is not suited for prolonged firefights as extended use will cause the barrel to warp from the intense heat. It goes without saying that, in addition to reducing the accuracy and combat effectiveness of the weapon, this can and (at the expense of one technician's eyebrows) result in some rather serious consequences. Likewise, it is really ill advised to mess around with the power cell as it will... Y'know... explode. Not that these two events are mutually exclusive.
