TWENTY YEARS IN THE FUTURE

The Galaxy was in Chaos. Maybe it was as some of the great Jedi had predicted. With Force users like Kay going about and doing whatever they wanted, even if they had good intentions, the Sith still grew large enough to take over. Everywhere there was death and destruction. Some planets were no longer there, having been blown up by one super weapon after another.

Little pockets of resistance still remained, but they were few and far between. Commlink channels were constantly monitored as was everything sent and received via the holonet, so the resistance fighters had barely any way to communicate. They had to be creative.

Kay had barely survived. Many of her friends were who knows where, and some of them had died during the struggle. The suppression of the Darkside was felt everywhere. If it weren't for her ability to hide her Force signature, she'd of been captured and forced to turn or die.

She went back to her old habits of never using the same ships or transports, never going in a straight line and avoiding the more populated areas. Darkness was everywhere and the light was but a flicker.

Kay sat on board a transport on her way to one of her old haunts with Vax. The last she had heard, the White Palace was still empty, however that information was old. It would be a good place to lay low for a while. She knew it well. Still it was in enemy territory, but there was hardly a place in the Galaxy where it wasn't dangerous.

She looked over to Vax as the transport entered the atmosphere. "Almost there...."

Truth be told, Kay was right. It was an old Haunt, rumors abound on Sirluur that with conquering of the Darkside, they dropped off some monster to hide in the Palace. But there was always false stock in rumors, it was home to the same person it always had been. Thraxis. Though he did do some redecorating, the palace now reeked of rotten flesh. He had gone further mad then ever. He had gone twenty years of solitude in the Palace. The Gammoreans had gone, joining with the Sith out of blood thirst and under the false pretense of the Monarch Thraxis ruled the planet solely, never directly meeting with anyone of the gangs he employed. Always through some run down droid he found in one of the White palace storage rooms.

H cracked his fingers, his hair parting over his face as he began to live the same tune of life, his fingers running along his own construct, each key playing a slightly different noise as he began his song. Each key didn't play a note, they played a scream, slowly creating a horroible song that gave way to the myth of the monster that hid inside the Palaces walls.

As his fingers ran along the keys his comlink opened, the busted up droid relaying a message to him, "Si--r There appears to be an inco---ming ship approaching the plane---t." it said with its monotone voice, as it sent a picture of the ship approaching. His digits raised of the keyboard, a symphony of horror pausing as he looked to the ship. His eyes fluttering with life as new prey approached the planet. Most ships avoided Sirluur. Preferring to go to one of the Trade Hubs rather then a backwater planet like this.

He pulled himself off his seat, closing the lid to his instrument as he walked into the Black room, putting on a mask to hide his identity he turned on the Com Channel he messaged the incoming ship. "Why hello there, my name is the Monarch and I am the ruler of Sirluur. Now, we have parking. Anywhere around the White Palace. Just remember the golden rule of SIrluur." he paused for a second as his lips parted, a loud yawning coming through as he refocused. "Whoops. Sorry about that. Remember, don't go into the White Palace. Legend says there is a monster in there or something of its Ilk." he continued, cutting off the Channel as soon as he could to remove the mask.

What a rough twenty years. He was once a Shadow Jedi, sneaky and stabby. Now he was traveling with [member="Lady Kay"] for... some reason. He didn't really know, but any ally was someone you had to stay with in these times. He had to always bee suppressing his force, hiding it's identity. Nothing he wasn't used to, but every minute of everyday.. It got a little tiring. She was once a senator, way back when. He hadn't known her then, but she seemed like someone he would have wanted for a Senator. Too bad everything had gone to poodoo.

He was sitting next to her, in the passenger seat for the transport they were in. His hood was down, his black hair in a ponytail, pulled away from his face. His two dual phase sabers hung from each side of his waist, and three more vibroblades were on his torso. The White Palace... Hopefully they could lay low for a while. He didn't say anything to Kay, just sat there and nodded his acknowledgment that he had heard her.

Then a comlink opened up, and a man wearing a mask showed up on screen. He talked as if inviting them. Who was inviting in these times? No way was he a Good Samaritan. This was a trap.. "We need to be careful.."

She didn't have her satchel anymore, or at least it was no longer on her. She had it safely tucked away in a hiding spot on Mustafar. That satchel was too recognizable and it led to her fleeing one bounty hunter to the next. So now she wore a backpack. It was capable of holding more, but she didn't fill it to capacity. She also wore slacks, shirt and long coat, no longer dressing like an upper class merchant.

Kay raised a brow as she watched the figure on the screen. The Monarch. Certainly wasn't a Hutt, so she wasn't sure who was ruling the area now.

She nodded to Vax's advice. "Yes. I wonder where the Monarch lives, if not in the White Palace?" There was bound to be other palaces in the area. It was curious that the transport was being sent there. But moments later it landed, the ramp was lowered and the passengers began to disembark. Kay followed the small crowd, squinting in the sunlight as she looked for any sign of Sith.

As he removed the mask he took a walk through the palace, his hand running along its battered walls, his fingers falling into the small crevices that ran along the building as it started to feel the strains of time. His head looked down, his hand digging into his coat to pull out a small vial of booze. He uncorked it letting the booze drip down his throat as his eyes remained cold and heartless as he looked at a mass of rotting flesh. The bones protruding haphazardly as flies flew towards the carcass its teeth digging into the flesh as it laid its eggs.

As the last of the booze fell down his throat he opened a channel to the Droid, "Get the gangs to get some more booze. I'm running low on supply." he waited a few seconds, as he walked back to the piano, not getting an immideate response was strange, "Well, what's wrong." he snapped as his fingers started to dash against the keys. "Nothing. Just the gangs have been getting a bit restless as of late." the emotions were empty and devoid of any real substance as Thraxis raised an eyebrow, "Then pay them. Some where in the tens mark should sate their greed." he said as he closed the com, getting back to his symphony at hand.

OOC: Oh crap didn't realize it was my turn whoops.

Vax followed Kay off of the transport, a long black cloak covering his armor that his father had given him, and his sabers and vibroblades. As he walked through the crowd, he practically faded in and out of existence, his natural tendency to stealth wherever he walked. And he was pretty karking good at it.

"No idea. But I guess he's claimed himself as king. You know anybody that could have survived the wars that lived here?" He added, not particularly related to the previous subject.

Kay watched as the crowd dispersed into a small market nearby. Not wanting to seem the curious sort, she followed suit. [member="Vax'ildan"] 's question gave her pause while she thought of her answer. She waved him over to a booth that sold various sizes of water bladders, pretending to browse while she answered him. "Well, I can imagine that any war wouldn't last long here as there aren't many people to conquer that aren't already enslaved. This was the haven of the Hutt Cartel. If anyone were to still be around, it could be [member="Thraxis"] . The Sith would use his skills for sure. But he's probably elsewhere, torturing prisoners that the Sith send him. It's really hard to say."

With Kay's eyes downward, she didn't see the look of fear in the vendor's eyes when she had said Thraxis' name.

As he played his tune he fell back in his seat, his eyes staring deep at the roof of the Palace that had been stained with a sticky crimson substance, the fly's darting back and fourth around the building, freely letting their offspring squirm through the corpses as Thraxis fingers nimbly ran along the keys, each voice a tale to Thraxis to remember, it could be anywhere from Pirate Captain to Sith Lord, the possibilities while limited, could still make a tune of infinite joy as they danced around his ears.

As he played his song his voice let out his horrific singing voice, as if it had been crushed beneath a Starship as he sung surprisingly in time with the song, his voice echoing around the castle which only aided the rumors of a monster living inside these retched walls. As he sung the flies started to dart about him, as if his song was as alluring to them as the rotted carcasses that had spread themselves along every crack inside the Palace.

He followed her to the booth and made a show of looking at the bladders. Vax thought for a moment, pondering the information he just aquired. "Torture?" He looked off at the White Palace, eyeing it from this distance. "Well, the White palace is plenty big. Plenty of space to torture." He said to her. He wasn't sure if this Thraxis guy did survive, but a lot of bad and good people alike survived.

Kay nodded to [member="Vax'ildan"] as she led him out of the booth and headed towards another one, this one selling some rolls of hard bread of some kind. She purchased a few and stored them in her backpack. Food was hard to come by at times, and she knew how to make it last.

Again she led Vax out of the booth and looked towards the White Palace. I have a proposition....If the Monarch is telling everyone to avoid the Palace, it could mean that no one goes there. It's probably mostly abandoned, so we could very easily hide there for a bit and find out if we've been followed by any Sith. How does that sound?"

He followed her to the new booth and watched her buy bread. He didn't have any money to his name, so he just followed her out again. He followed her gaze. "Sounds like a plan. We'll have to be careful. If I was a monarch, I would pick the White Palace to live. Maybe he just doesn't like visitors." He nodded his head. "Let's go."

[member="Lady Kay"] [member="Thraxis"]

"Yo, Menarch!" a voice radiated through his comlink, his body pausing as he looked with a quiet fury, his body blanketed in blackness to not allow himself to be seen, "What is it..." he said with an almost melodic pace as he looked at the roof, his eyes darting about the flies as they abandoned him, returning to the feast at hand.

"I overheard, their is some lass coming to the White Palace, should we stop her?" the man said with a guttural accent, it was clear he was raised in the slums though to work for someone called the Monarch, Thraxis hoped that they would come with a Gimmick similar. Instead of ghetto names like the Back Street Ally Boys. "Let her go. Its not like one person ever made a difference." he responded as he breathed through his teeth, shutting off the com quickly.

She nodded in agreement to [member="Vax'ildan"] 's statement. It was a logical one of course, yet the look of the White Palace and how it had been falling apart seemed to show that hardly anyone set foot there. Holes riddles some of the walls where it was obvious that some of the turret cannons had failed. The whole building seemed to be in a state of disrepair.

"I know. Keep your weapons on hand in case of trouble. But we don't want to seem hostile if we don't need to. It could be that we're just dealing with a droid that wants all organics to stay away. It's really hard to tell from here. So let's go and find out."

She led him to the White Palace, choosing not the front door, but one of the side doors that looked bent out of shape. It had certainly taken a beating. The door still hung on it's hinges, though it no longer closed completely. With a little help from Vax, Kay pulled open the door enough for them to shimmy through and then stepped inside, giving their eyes time to adjust to the darkness.....and the smell....

[member="Thraxis"]

"Master Monarch. It se----ems we have an intrud-----er." the droid said with a monotone voice, though its body moved to show how shocked it was. Thraxis raised a brow, before letting out a sigh as his fingers snapped against all the keys, letting out a horrendous mix mash of screams of horror. "Well. I haven't had a guest since.... Droid, when was the last time those Siths came here?" Thraxis inquired, looking towards the Droid that had just recently arrived.

"That wou----ld be..." the droid paused as it let out a series of beeps and boops as it processed the results, "Twelve years, three months, twenty two hour-" Thraxis raised a finger, if he let the droid continue it would be getting to nanoseconds, "Well. I suppose I have been getting a tad rusty. The last time I dealt with a gang was only a few weeks ago." he sighed as he picked himself up, his fingers running along the side of his armor before interlacing with the triggers of his guns.

Vax kept her words in mind, ready to bring his hands to his sabers at any moment. He traveled with [member="Lady Kay"] to the doorway of the White Palace. He was stronger than the average person, but the heavy doors were still, well.... heavy. Immediately, the smell of rotting flesh hit his nose. He covered it while he stepped inside, looking about the crumbled building. It would have been beautiful and ornate had it been in repair. But it had fallen since then..

But through the force, he could feel someone here. Someone... With a lot of darkness surrounding them.

Kay brought her sleeve up over her nose. It was a horrible stench. Many died here and no one cleaned up. Perhaps it was a droid that ruled here afterall.

She moved down one of the large corridors, recalling it as the one she had gone down years ago when she was a guest of Sempra the Hutts. That is until he displayed his cruelty and then pulled out of their contract. There were plenty of rooms for them to hide out in. They just needed to find the one that stank the least.

Loud screams and wails filled the corridor, filled everywhere, causing Kay to duck and cover her ears. Could [member="Thraxis"] still be alive? She looked to [member="Vax'ildan"] once the screaming died down. "We need to find a room to hide in and quickly! Then barricade the door." Without a moment to lose, she started trying the doors to various rooms. It wasn't as though they were locked, some just wouldn't budge open. Maybe others had the same idea before they died.

He heard a faint echo. It was familiar, almost tortuously so. "Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. She never learned." he whispered as he contemplated as to what to do. Until a cord struck him. It seemed it was time. In all the chaos that had been going on there was no way. She couldn't possibly have hope after everything that has transpired. She has to have cracked. She has to have.

He took almost strides with each step, he was far away but the empty building always left a resounding echo if spoken in anything more then a whisper. He took heavy footsteps as he approached a door that was far away. Slowly creasing it open, letting the noise fluctuate throughout the building until he was content. Turning to the next door and the next and the next. It was all to give that sense of worry, that sense of anxiety that came so fluidly with the essence of terror.

Vax noticed that the screams that filled the air stopped. Most likely from their presence. He nodded, aggreeing with her. "Right." He started pulling on doors as well, and eventually he found one that slid right open, almost making the rogue fall on his ass at how hard he pulled and how little resistance there was.

The room was dark inside, no light being given. After listening for a second... could hear nothing. "Over here!" He whispered, motioning for [member="Lady Kay"] to enter the room with him.

When she entered, he would slowly shut the door and sink into the shadows, using his Shadow Jedi training to become more invisible than normal.

Kay almost laughed at [member="Vax'ildan"] as he fell after opening the door. Almost. In most circumstances it would be comical, but today it wasn't. There were too many unknowns in this place, like there were in just about every place that the two of them had gone. But that was the way of things in these dark times.

She followed Vax into the room, hardly able to see anything at all. It was odd that not all of the rooms had windows, but that was of course to keep the heat out that was brought by the sun.

It was faint at first, but then she heard them more. Footfalls. Doors were squeaking open, growing louder with each one. Her own heartbeat started to increase. Someone or many someones were coming. Kay cautiously stepped further back, being careful to not hit anything. Maybe the person or people would just pass them by. It was really hard to tell. One could only hope...

[member="Thraxis"]

Thraxis paused, something in the distance had decided to make quite a ruckus. He paused for a second, digging his hand into his stained trenchcoat, pulling out a few Audio Clips. There was a reason there were rumors of a monster living in the hollowed halls. He looked on the back, a small engraving on it, Growl.

He paused for a second, looking around picking up a cracked glass as he put the device inside, pressing the button to let out a angered roar that was magnified by the cup, only to have the slightest crumple in its voice. Its voice echoing down the halls as his fingers rushed with succession, pulling out another one, Charge. He done the same, putting the charge one in the same cup after removing the growl.

He analyzed the scenery towards where he needed to get, looking at the slabs of flesh that aligned the floor, it would be tricky, but this plan should work. He grabbed turned on the Charge, rushing down the halls as he splashed through the flesh, making it sound like the beast was running through clumps of flesh as its voice echoed louder and louder down the halls.
