The Fall - Hope Rises (PM for Invite)

Kay-Larr

A lump jumped into her throat as she heard the growl echo through the hallway. She swallowed it down and listened. It was coming, whatever monster it was. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea afterall. Kay brought her backpack around and took out one of her blasters. In the past it was always set to stun, but not this time. More often than not she had needed something stronger than a stun, yet still she managed to avoid killing. Shooting a hand or leg of an opponent was far better at disabling them and left less chance of a body trail for others to follow.

Once her blaster was out, she shouldered her backpack and trained her weapon at the door. More than likely [member="Vax'ildan"] was doing the same thing. But all that she could think of right now was the awful sounds of something running through that messy hall towards them.

OOC: Crap, sorry it took me a while to get to this.

A monster, or something big, was charging through the hallway. His hands shook slightly, but he stole himself. No, he could get through this. Killed many beasts in his time, whether literally or metaphorically. He grab his two sabers and kept them ready. Ignition of their energies would make light and noise, so best not to do that yet.

The room they were in was perpendicular to the hallway, so there was little chance it would crash into the room [member="Lady Kay"] and him were in. He got closer to the door, hiding in the shadows off to the side. If anything pushed it's way through, they would get stabbed.

[member="Thraxis"]

He approached the hallway, it seemed they had hidden themselves in one of the doors. He paused for a second, picking up some slabs of meat before taking of his helmet for a second, engaging in a carnal blood thirst of hunger as he slapped the meat around, letting it hit against eh walls before he finished consuming. He had been eating raw flesh for almost a decade now and had grown immune to the side effects. Or had just gotten use to them. He couldn't really tell anymore.

He paused for a second, letting out a loud and hardy laugh, before putting his Helmet back on, "Well. I suppose you lot ain't Sith. They are normally over-zealous in attacking me.... so maybe rebels?" he said aloud before pacing himself his eyes darting along the floor. A benefit of flesh rotting along the ground was that if left footprints to follow. His eyes tracing where they had gone. Looking with narrowed eyes as he walked to a far off door, slowly creaking open with his digits as he watched the right door.=. If anyone came in for the Surprise attack, a hail of lead would reach them quicker then they could respond.

Kay remained still and silent, though her heart failed to follow suit. She knew that laugh, though it had been over a decade since she had heard it last. It was [member="Thraxis"] . The torturer was still alive. Was he the Monarch? In this crazy Galaxy, it made sense that he would still be around. Yet the fact that he said that the Sith usually attacked him made her believe that he wasn't on their side. The Sith didn't regard him as an ally. That could be useful.

In the past they have had to almost work together. James Justice made a deal with Thraxis and for the most part, the torturer did no more than taunt her. But with James gone she didn't have that kind of security.

And now he was nearby. Even in the dark there was no hiding from him. He already knew that they were there. But did he know that there was two of them? She had to find out. "Only a ghost from your past..."

Vax heard the laughter, and the voice. Seems like all that was a rouse.. But what about the tearing of flesh? That... That sounded real compared to the stomping and roaring. Either way, he stayed where he was. He could hear the man checking in a room. He was searching for them, it seemed. Well, No point in leaving. Even if he was apparently an enemy to the Sith. Didn't make him a friend. They could want him dead for a million reasons. One including he was an enemy to everyone.

Then [member="Lady Kay"] spoke, and he cringed as she did so. She made noise! They had been traveling for a while, and he thought that she knew about stealth... but then he thought about the words she spoke. Before she had talked of a [member="Thraxis"] living here. ..Could this be him?

He went onto the next, his gun still aimed on the right door. He moved to the one adjacent to the one he opened previously. His leg pulled back, before torquing and twisting his leg against the door, causing a loud bang as the door planted against the ground. "Found you!" he screamed, trying his best not to laugh in anticipation.

"Huh. Not there." he said audibly as he turned, going another down, getting slowly further away. It would make them feel hopeful, maybe even feel like they could escape... or better yet fight back. "Now then. Since we have assessed you lot ain't Sith. Let's jump to the next conclusion." he paused as he laid his back against the door, his gun tapping at his helmet as he looked towards their location.

"Rebels? No... you wouldn't come to a planet like this. This place is so desperate. The people here would rat you out faster then a heartbeat." he said as he continued to tap. Letting a rhythm flow throughout the halls. "Or. Maybe you are from one of the Gangs. Wanted to go see the scary Sith Beast. Well your in luck. The Gorog has been dead for the better half of a decade." his fingers clicked as he came tot he stark realization. One of the gangs hadn't followed their orders. "Of course that must be it. What gang? West Side Aliens? Magic Bird Flip? Galaxy Gangstas?" he continued to name gangs for a while before twisting his leg and knocking down the door and moving down to an adjacent one.

To [member="Vax'ildan"] 's surprise, it seems as though [member="Thraxis"] didn't hear Kay as she spoke. That was probably a good thing. He was just testing doors, so far missing the one that led to their hiding place. Was it some kind of game? He knew that they were there, she was sure of it. Yet, it seemed as though he couldn't pinpoint where or who. Was he blind? Was he deaf? Did something happen to him? Normally he was a few steps ahead of her, but now it seemed as though he was struggling.

She let herself relax a little and stepped closer to Vax, close enough for him to hear her whisper. "It sounds like he's going further down the hall. We may get to rest tonight sooner than we think."

Although [member="Lady Kay"] was alright with talking, Vax wasn't. He turned to her slowly, taking a full 30 seconds so that his armor didn't make any sound, and with but barely a whisper at all, said, "I think he's checking every room. He'll come this way, I'm sure." He took another 30 seconds slowly moving back to his original position, then stayed stock still. He was going to stay right here, waiting until [member="Thraxis"] came around.

He paused for a moment, it sounded like they had gotten quite. He started to pace himself, his hand banging along the walls as he walked closer. He couldn't let them escape. If they got the drop on him things could turn sour faster then the beat of a heart. His arm drew back, before pouncing back along the walls with a hammering thud.

After a few minutes of slow pacing, he paused at their door. His head leaning against the door to listen to anything inside the room. His eyes rolling around. He didn't worry if they tried to attack him through the door, his Phirik would hold up long enough for him to return fire.

The pounding on the walls was getting to her. Or maybe it was just her imagination. [member="Thraxis"] and Kay had been playing this game of cat and mouse for decades now, and he had always found ways to surprise her.

She waited and held her breath when he stopped at their door. She wanted to move further back, but instead chose to remain perfectly still, just in case she tripped over something or knocked something over. How long would Thraxis wait before he did something? At least she had [member="Vax'ildan"] to watch over her.

Just like old times, this wasn't the first time that they were at a bit of a stalemate. But it could be worse though. At least he hadn't made any clones of himself. That would have made things even worse. It was bad enough that they chose to stay here with the smell of rotting flesh everywhere. But they needed somewhere to hide....At least now they were doing just that.

He heard the absence of pounding.. and he could feel a presence in the force on the other side of the door, standing, waiting. He knew where they were they whole time. Moving slowly once more, taking about 10 seconds to raise his hand, he held the lightsaber right about head level, pointing at the door. Then he activated it. It would erupt forth, plunging through the door and hopefully, [member="Thraxis"] ' head. Normally he wouldn't do this, but he could feel the darkness of his character. Not much the dark side, but.. he couldn't quite describe it. Craziness? Close enough.

[member="Lady Kay"]

He heard it, the pounce, a flare of energy popping out of the nothingness, quickly he darted back, his guns still in hand as his finger pulled back, the hammer dropping as the first bullet went through, then another three following with quick succession.His head dropped as he stared contently at the door, his finger dropping the Somatoll needle as he predicted the next moment.

Saber. Jedi. Which means one thing. Close Quarter combat. he thought as he prepared his needle, one hand holding his gun as the distraction, Jedi and the sort normally jump for the gun, ignoring the other hand. His eyes flared with vigor as he thought to himself. First Jedi in so long. Lets add their saber to the collection. a cynical grin splitting his face as he waited the next move.

(OOC: Gah! You know that I hate those things, [member="Thraxis"] *shudders* )

Kay should have expected [member="Vax'ildan"] to use his lightsaber in that way, but she didn't. As soon as she heard the first shot, she dropped to the floor, laying flat on it. The floor was sticky and reeked, but it was better than being shot.

She remained still. Sure their position was now compromised, but how many that the Monarch knew was in the room remained to be seen. Perhaps he figured that there was just one? That would give her the advantage. So she just lay there, not willing to get to her feet yet until the gun was taken out of the equation. It wasn't as though she was wearing body armour afterall.

Vax had expected to hear the crumpling of a body on a floor covered in rotten flesh, but instead heard the quick shuffling of feet and a gun firing. A bullet tore through the door, right above his forearm. Vax disengaged his saber and pulled back against the wall, three more bullets pounding through. [member="Lady Kay"] had dropped to the floor, but not from a bullet, but to keep from getting hit by one. The shots ceased, and four little shafts of light streamed into the room. He held his sabers at the ready. He would have to come through the door eventually.

[member="Thraxis"]

He waited, waiting for a dramatic entrance, a flare of fury and light to erupt from the Door, though it seemed this one was smarter then the Jedi. It would explain why they ain't dead yet. His empty hand started to rattle, his fingers tapping on the back of the door before getting bored, he flicked open his com, his eyes still steady on the door, "Droid. Minigun, fast as ya can." he said audibly, a grin streaking across his lips as he awaited the next move.

The drumming of the fingers, the voice. Oh yes. Kay knew who it was on the other side. [member="Thraxis"] . But did he know that she was there? Probably not. That could either be a good thing, or a bad thing.

Carefully she got up. With the beams of light breaking the darkness, she was able to see [member="Vax'ildan"] better. So quietly she reached over for one of his sabers and took hold of it. Instead of going near the door, Kay moved to the left side of the room. She ignited the blade and began cutting a hole in the wall for them to possibly go through.

OOC: Oh waoh my turn. one of you just just tell me on skype if I miss one day. xD

Vax could here [member="Lady Kay"] move, as quiet as she was, and reach for one of his sabers. He was reluctant, but came to the conclusion that she had an idea, and needed it. He let her take hold of it, keeping the one in his left hand. She moved over to teh side of the room, igniting it and cutting a hole in the wall. Vax cringed once more at the noise it was creating, but hopefully that would cause [member="Thraxis"] to rush in. If he did, there would be some stabbing.

The talk about a minigun didn't fill him with much confidence. It might be able to blow straight through the walls. Hopefully they could get out of here before one arrived.

Tick, tock, tick, tock... Those thoughts rambled through his mind as he listened. They had their saber ignited yet had decided to stay in the room. Maybe they though this one functioned with Blasters, rather then a slug. But blasters never really had the jump, the power of a slug thrower. As well as being harder to block then a Blaster bolt.

After what felt like an eternity he saw the droid, its voice crumbling through the hall as it lugged over a rather large metal construct along the ground, the sound of metal grating against flesh becoming more intense as it slowly made its way up, it would take only a few more minutes for the droid to arrive and hand over the gun. Then a slaughter would occur, the carving of bullets through flesh made audible was such a chilling concept.

Kay finished working on creating the hole with the lightsaber. It was just big enough for the two of them to crawl through, yet low enough that they didn't need to touch either of the sides. She didn't want to be burned, or to have [member="Vax'ildan"] burned either.

The sound of the metal container being pushed through the hallway was a perfect cover. Kay climbed through the hole and looked inside the new room. It was just as dark and just as muggy. Still the smell of rotten flesh hung in the air. She used the lightsaber as a light and began cutting a hole in the adjacent wall. Her plan was simple. Get enough distance between them so that they could make a run for it. As far as she knew, [member="Thraxis"] was on his own, with merely droids for companions.

Vax watched [member="Lady Kay"] cut a hole in the wall and climb through, and could hear more cutting. Maybe it was time to open negotiations. "[member="Thraxis"] !" He called out. "Is that you?" That's all he would say for now until he got a response.

He could hear the echoes of metal grinding on the floor.. It must be the mini-gun the psycho asked for.
