OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION

  • Structure Name: The Faceless Tower
  • Classification: Temple
  • Location: Asteroid in the Exegol System (Has been spotted on the surface of other terrestrial spheres)
  • Affiliation: Brotherhood of the Maw - Dakrul
  • Accessibility: A tower forged in the shadows, piercing out of a massive abyssal crater. A hidden sanctuary for the undead situated on a drifting moon-sized asteroid. A secretive shrine devoted to the Avatar's build with only two entrances and no windows or other doorways that lead out of the spiraling crimson tower. The most frequent visitors are slave ships from Exegol that supply the holy site both with the necessary sustenance to facilitate the growth of its hungry inhabitants as well as sacrificial goods that are offered up to reanimate the dead. In order to remain undetected, the structure relies on only the absolutely most necessary technical equipment. Massive gravity and shield generators but it entirely lacks an interplanetary or intergalactic communication device or access to any networks. Furthermore, its inhabitants are almost entirely without vital signs, and most living that enter do not stay that way very long. Furthermore, there have been reported incidents of the Tower disappearing from the asteroid and repapering standard days or weeks later.
  • Description: Made from the pillaged remains of the destroyed Gehinnom scraped from the charred surface of Rhand. In essence a giant ritual site to commune with the Nether. It acts both as a birthplace for reanimated Cha’ta’ri as well as an indoctrination facility. Educated and guided until a fully trained Hungering swears a holy oath to the religious dogmas of the Mawite Brotherhood. The place is eerily quiet at times as most communication between its residence happens telepathically. But the occasional shuffling of clawed feet along the red marble gangways, the ringing of hammers clobbering iron, or screams of pain will echo throughout. Inhabited by occultists and warlocks from all spans within the Brotherhood's spectrum the location has been attuned with powerful magick. Incidents of the structure successfully planeshfiting in and out of the Nether have been reported, suggesting the temple can shift locations.
POINTS OF INTEREST

The Courtyard of War
jeff-horal-f-018-copy.jpg

A monument to the voracious crusade of the Brotherhood and place of prayer. Darksiders who manage to find out and reach the tower come here to soak in its shadows from a safe distance to those that dwell within. They may stroll through the barren landscape in zero gravity or cross the strange occult bridge and stand before its hallowed gates.

The Altar of Rebirth
kyoungche-kim-hive-16.jpg

At the highest level near the peak of the red structure lies this foul ritual site. Souls are offered here in masses by Heathen Priests and their dark servants to be twisted and morphed until lastly reborn as cursed Cha’ta’ri fiends from hell.

The Pits of Death

A maze of coffins and graves, this eerie sequence of chambers found near the entrance acts as storage for Hungering troops. After feeding on enough living force essence to bind their reanimated form permanently onto the plane of the living they are held in stasis by the hundreds to call upon when necessary. Large crystals of stored energy hang from the walls passively feeding the hibernating Cha’ta’ri so that their curse of immortality remains unbroken.

The Gehinnom Heart
jeff-horal-f-050-copy.jpg

An insidious hole in the lowest layers deep under the Tower. This is Dakrul's domain, from here he and his Heathen Priest commune with the gods, conduct experiments, or seek the knowledge of old. It further acts as s storage for various artifacts, dusty scrolls written in long-lost languages, and Sith Holocrons from ancient sects.

SECURITY

Medium - The structure is fortified with a low energy shield generator. This is meant to protect from drifting debris, other vessels, and smaller caliber blaser fire. It does not sport automated torrents or other offensive capabilities. Instead, the tower was built to withstand an assault and release its inhabitants to swarm the intruders. Within minutes the entire asteroid can be a crawling wretched mass of insectoid monstrosities.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

After the destruction of the Gehinnom those practicing the very darkest and most vile shades of the force needed to be relocated to a safe sanctum from which they could continue their studies. A space station hidden from curios eyes or possible scanners. Exegol being the beating heart of the brotherhood as well as hiding in its veil of thunderstorms and red nebula made it an obvious choice. Here orbiting around the serene sight of the planet Heathen Priests and other occultists would thrive in the shadows. Its main devotion laid in the creation. It acts both as a prayer site, a generator of undead hellspawn, and the training grounds for these reanimated troops. From here a deep and vile darkness shall grow and fester designed to one day spill over into the greater galaxy and help facilitate the prophesized apocalypse the Avatars dream of.

Davak Davak

You've done a good job as to not lean too hard into the Destiny 2 Lore surrounding the site and the images, you've renamed things properly. Good job there. I suggest adding the link to the Rhand invasion since you do mention it a few times in the submission. It would provide lore that seems rather important to the formation of the tower itself. Also are there other threads that are tied to this submission that would help add depth to the historical information? Along with adding that information summarized into the historical information.

These are suggestions only to help provide a good sub with great lore and give someone who is reading the submission some inspiration and proper knowledge on why and how this location works into an RP
