CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
THE EXHIBITION OF LIGHT
THEED, NABOO

Was this twerp actually serious right now?

He had called out to Ronhar, unprompted, and when Ronhar had tried to ascertain his identity, he had dodged his question, insulting Ronhar's character despite the fact that the two had never even met before. The fact that he kept Everette Clairmont Everette Clairmont as company was starting to make a LOT more sense now.

Ronhar waited patiently for Braze Braze to finish speaking, listening to him babble about "not being able to afford manners" and "not having anything worth extracting profit from". It didn't bother Ronhar too greatly because it wasn't anything Ronhar hadn't heard before. Mahporeem had always been a poorer planet when compared to the rest of the galaxy, but that was something its people celebrated, how they used their skills and knowledge to overcomes the planet's shortcomings, all the while building a flourishing and vibrant community of Imperials, aliens and Merzoidians alike. So what if they were behind on the times? So what if they didn't have the latest and greatest technology in the galaxy? Mahporeem would endure no matter the challenges that it faced, and so too would the spirit of its people, something rich little twerp like Braze Braze would never understand!

Ronhar was about to turn around and leave the kid to his ramblings when he said something that stopped him dead in his tracks:

"I will say this only once… so do try to pay attention. If you do not leave my lawyer be, you will find out exactly who I am."

For several seconds, Ronhar just stood in place, having been stunned into silence. Was...was that a threat, just now? Was this child actually trying to intimidate Ronhar? Was he being serious?

Ronhar couldn't contain himself any longer, and he burst out into laughter, finding the thought of this young man trying to change his mind laughably pathetic.

"I'm sorry, I'm going to need a moment!", Ronhar managed to wheeze out as his laughing fit subsided, his face having turned read from the effort of calming himself down. But once he was calm, his demeanor changed instantly, and his face began scarily calm, completely devoid of any and all emotion. He walked over to Braze Braze until he was just a few inches away from him, crouched down beside him as if he were a parent scolding their child, and proceeded to speak his mind to the young boy:

"Man, you and your lawyer friend really know how to make enemies, huh? Let me tell you something that someone like you might have trouble understanding. All I want at the end of the day is peace. Peace for my planet, peace for my people, and peace for the galaxy at large. But how does one get that peace? Should I just ask the Sith nicely and hope they agree? Should I just hope that the Mandalorians will ignore me and leave me and my planet alone? Should I just, what is it, hope for the best?"

"If that's what you truly believe...you are far more foolish than you're letting off. Your lawyer "friend" cost millions of my people, hard working, earnest people, the chance to better their lives and their planet for some outdated principles. How well did those principles serve the Galactic Alliance before the Empire tore it apart planet by planet? How well did those principles serve the Jedi while they were being massacred by the Sith? Judging from how things went, not too well I'd wager", Ronhar hissed as the slightest signs of anger began creeping into his expressions.

"Let me tell you something, kid. I've fought my fair share of horrors over the last couple of years. Sith Lords, Mandalorian Warriors, High Republic Commandos, Sithspawn Abominations the likes of which you've never hope to encounter in your most horrible nightmares. I fought all of them, and at the end of the day, I survived and they didn't. I fought them so that my planet would still have a future in this chaotic galaxy, and I'd do it all again to ensure Mahporeem survived just another day. You ever hear the expression "if you seek peace, prepare for war" before? That's the way I choose to live, and if long term stability means that others get hurt so that my people stay safe, than that's a sacrifice I'm willing to accept".

"So know this: when your lawyer humiliated me in that conference and tore to shreds the ideals that I stand fore, he did the same thing to the millions of people who call Mahporeem home. I will most certainly NOT remove that bounty off of him, and I will not listen to the ramblings of an impertinent child any longer, one who clearly has no idea what it's like to suffer and experience true hardship like me and my people have for the last several hundred years. I don't care who you claim to be, but if you want to find out who I am, then you're more than welcome to. Maybe you should try checking out the Mahporeenian booth for starters, you might actually learn something for a change!"

With that, Ronhar turned around to leave, but stopped himself to say one more thing.

"Oh, and by the way, just so you know, black and white really isn't your color!"

With that, Ronhar made a sound that could only be described as a derisive snort as he ambled away, trying to get back to the task of finding new business partners for the Imperial Remnant.

"Dang... that guy talks more than you do."

Jasper wasn't there for business reasons. He was there to relax. A baby sling was resting against his chest, where his infant son Cole slept quietly with earmuffs adorning his head. After some wondering around he had found his way to Braze, clearly right at the end of some strange rant from an imperial fellow. Jasper had heard Braze off-hand mentioning his lawyer getting a bounty put on his head by someone. That must have been the guy.

In his hands were two churros, one of which he offered to his adoptive Echani son. A smirk formed under his mustache.

"Churro?"

Braze had been just about to say something when Jasper appeared, that cute little bundle of joy strapped to his chest, and all at once Braze forgot the raving lunatic who had wandered off.

His whole expression softened at once, brightening with an almost indecent amount of pleasure at the sight of the smaller boy. He even resisted the urge to reach over and simply steal adorable little Cole for himself.

"Yeah… but that guy's got the IQ of a houseplant~" Braze said in a lilting, singsong tone, already far too pleased with himself to spare the matter another thought before proving Jasper right by continuing to yap.

"Oh~ Churros~! I love churros. Thanks~ There's a lot of fun food here today… look, you do not even have to go all the way to Denon to get Denon street fare…" His smile turned crooked then, touched with amused disbelief.

"Though somehow it does not feel nearly as authentic without some squat old Rodian with a grease-stained apron and a cart welded together out of speeder parts, shouting at passersby in a voice rough enough to strip paint. The whole time he's like glaring like you have offended three generations of his family just by asking for extra sugar.

In my humble opinion~ Denon street food ought to come with a long wait, mild verbal abuse, and the lurking suspicion that the recipe is older than the district."

He took a few bites of the delicious sweet and closed his eyes sighing softly as he enjoyed the sweet hot flavor of cinnamon sugar and chocolate.

"By the Force these are great~!"

"Balance seems nice… color is pretty great…" Quinn murmured to herself as she moved side to side on the speeder bike that she had been recently gifted. The Covenant liaison, Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania , had exquisite taste with speederbikes; she would have to compliment him later when they finally met face to face. Quinn contemplated how the man knew she was a fan; her hobbies were typically quiet to anyone not close to her, but she wasn't going to complain.

Knowing CT-312 CT-312 , this gift had already undergone her rigorous and thorough inspection. A thought crossed her mind, and she wondered if the Trooper would enjoy something like this. She would have to ask, perhaps have the guard drive her around on it at some point. A small smile curled at her lips at the thought.

Leaning back, she adjusted the leather jacket she had stolen. She had refitted from Eira Dyn Eira Dyn and shoved the helmet onto her head to make sure no strands of hair had been misplaced. It would be quite unbecoming of a Queen to show up disheveled.

Quinn took the long route down towards where the exhibition was, from what she had gathered from the announcement that there would be several bits of trade going on. This meant some opportunities for her to try to rub elbows with those who could help with the infrastructure she wanted to change on Eshan.

Her thoughts came and went easily as the bike rode smoothly through the streets. It leaned into sharp corners without losing too much speed and maintained a gentle ride. Quinn was impressed with the craftsmanship, and she definitely would need to pick Lysander's brain more about the bike.

Arriving at the exhibition, Quinn quietly parked the bike near others and waited a bit to let it settle. It was beautiful, and she wished she could take it everywhere. Unfortunately, business was the topic of the day, and Quinn stepped off the bike and removed her helmet. As it slid off her head, she shook her head slightly, letting the cascade of white blonde hair fall gently, barely touching the surface of her shoulders.

For a moment, she wondered if she would be graced with the presence of a certain Jedi. But she didn't hold her breath, figuring the woman was probably off-world on a mission. It was something of note: the Jedi were suddenly more active. Maybe she should be cautious about it.

Quinn did her best not to think of it, only sending a silent prayer to the Force to keep her safe. There was some semblance of irony as Quinn finished her small request of the Living Force. The general understanding of a Sith was that they did not ask, they took, and bent the Force to their will.

Maybe she was changing or finding a part of her true self.

Somehow sipping on her wine as Makai asked if she was sure he was even qualified to give his opinion, Chi somehow even made a shrug look elegant. "If anything, you not being a ship person makes your insight even more valuable. A large part of this project is how the average person will react to the chosen ship. Will they look up with hope, cheering 'The Republic is here to save us!' Intimidate criminals, or evoke other responses?" Standing, chi finished the remainder of her half-glass, feeling refreshed and the onset of the tiniest of buzzes from the alcohol. "What's the alternative, sitting at a bar all day? Let's go see the fair."

Across the Exhibition of Light, a last minute entry from the Theed Palace Engineering Corps was being brought out on grav-sleds and maneuvered into position under a pavilion next to the other ships on display. A new line of Republic U-Wings was on offer, cheap and utilitarian, but a symbolic callback to simpler times.

Dumbstruck after being forcefed mushrooms, thought mushrooms anyway,Persephone numbly placed fifty credits in the tip jar. Casaana Casaana didn't take her money but Persephone wasn't the type to eat for free. There was a line of customers and she grabbed her noodles and drink and shuffled off to the side. Persie had jobs before - three years interning at Arceneau Trade - but nothing that required customer interaction like this. More assisting setting up for clients or grabbing bolts of textiles or fetching caf.

Not knowing what to do, she felt incredibly awkward. Looking back at Zee, her shoulders shrugged, clearly unsure. Maybe she was just supposed to stand here?At least she wasn't in anyone's way.

"So, uh, busy. That's good."

Zaiya was double fisting it.

In one hand, she had three churros. Three delicccccccccious, suger and cinnamon coated and gooey chocolate stuffed churros. In the other, she had savory flaky packets stuffed with deliciously spiced Nuna meat, potatoes, and gooey cheese.

Oh. My. Staaaaaaars, they smelled D I V I N E.

Aris Noble Aris Noble was going to join her here for the event, and Zaiya was rushing to see if she could spot him. They'd both been so busy, with Aris continuing the home build at Midvinter and Zaiya working on finally becoming a Knight, offering to teach and mentor as needed. Lossa had asked for some assistance, and Zaiya had jumped at the opportunity.

NOw a fresh Jedi Knight, by all accounts, the Lovalla was fully considered to be an adult and able to move about as she needed. Maybe even take a Padawan!

Oohh.. How that prospect was equally thrilling as it was scary.

But something to consider for later. For now, she had plenty of food to share with Aris and -- WHOMP!

In her excitement, Zaiya weaved and woved a little too quickly, ending up bumping against Vess Sadragen Vess Sadragen , in a comedic little waving of arms as she tried to save the meat pie from falling to the ground...

In the sea of people and, Liana had managed to misss the unmistakable appearance of a Mandalorian only a few steps away. Or perhaps, she simply had not made note of it. Her parents had a complicated history with Mandos, but Liana herself had very little interaction with the people or their culture. Still, when the voice behind the helmet was pointed at her, the individual suddenly became hard to not notice. She eyed the woman curiously, not quite sure what to make of this chance meeting. There were lots of people who knew her from her youth; Being the little Princess of Alderaan brought lots of attention. In truth, Liana could not admit to recognizing the Mandalorian on appearance alone, but she was able to recall the name Minerva Fhirdiad. It was a name that her mother had brought to her attention at various points in time, be it through stories or official business.

"Minerva..!" Liana repeated the name, at last finding something familiar to latch on to, "I remember the tales. Can't say I imagined running into someone like you here. Heck I'm surprised you recognize me." Hey, maybe she paid more attention to politics than Liana assumed, "Nonetheless, it's nice to see you."

Ayumi approached not long after, "Senator," Liana acknowledged her with an informal dip of the head, "Yes, I suppose it is. I've just been looking around." She glanced over at Minerva, letting the Mandalorian be the one to introduce herself if she pleased.

There was an amused glint in her eyes as the Princess examined with curiosity. Honestly, Minerva wasn't surprised that Lianna didn't recognize her since the very few times they met Minerva had her helmet on. Still, it heartened her to know that Liana recognized her name, meaning Alico and Amani spoke of her.

They still saw me as a friend even after all this time. The feeling is mutual. She thought.

Shrugging her shoulders, the armored woman replied. "I have my reasons for coming here. As for recognizing you, well I have seen you on the holonet a number of times. You're making your kin proud, I know that."

At the approach of the lady senator, Minerva raised an eyebrow in question. Soon though she noted how friendly she and Lianna were before letting her guard down. The senator called her friend as well even though they just met. Most outsiders usually call her Mando or Mandalorian.

"Minerva Fhirdiad, adopted daughter of Jorel Merrik. I'm a friend of the Organa family. Who are you?"

Ayumi looked at Liana and gave a smile with that. Her head going to look at the mandalorian as she spoke. "I am Ayumi Pallopides, Senator of Denon and you both must come try from any of our food stalls." She said it bringing her hands forward as she was looking at both of them. "We have brought only the finest of our new food items for the fair. Fruit jelly filled sponge cakes, wrapped in the finest cut of jakobeast bacon and fried in firaxa fats for a clean and delicious taste. It is supposed to be perfectly balanced between sweet, savory and flavorful. It is a fair after all and we have krayt dragon ribs being carved up for the people."

She said it with a look but was taking in both of them now instead of focusing on the one she knew. It would be rude to not give her attentions while she stood there. "I am also well shamelessly looking for all the beautiful delicacies around Naboo already had some of the most beautiful but now I can see the prettiest from around the republic and convince them to come to watch the dancers we brought." She said it with her hands going wide. "But when I saw you here I simply had to come and say hello. It is rare to get such a chance outside of the senate unless I directly invite you to join me on Denon." SHe looked over at a few parts of it as she was finishing her food though and there was a disposal drroid.

The expo booths were interesting she watched Braze Braze argue with someone and he resembled someone both Junko and Anaara had told her about. His demeanor seemed to be making friends but he did bring an old model Mon Cala ship as a museum to the High Republic expo... as an Imperial... with a ship that the empire had likely fired upon, damaged and killed many with. SHe debated if the tone deafness should be pointed out with a small look while she floated pat. Not being involved but it brought her as Hanae on her back pointed to guide her movements. The floating jedi master weaving through the crowds when she came upon a face that she did know.

"Casaana." She said the name as Hanae was looking at it and spoke. "Food." Matsu looked at the droid that was dancing, her eyes unblinking but Hanae spoke. "Do you have sweet creams?" She said it and Matsu looked at the girl. "No." Her voice coming out while she turned her head back but looked at Persephone with a bow of her head. She listened to the waving droid as it spoke the menu which got a small eyebrow raised. "Is the gungan broth soup made by gungans? Or made of gungans?" SHe said it while Hanae was looking at the two of them but she had a look on her face as she but she smiled. "Do you have blue milk with chocolate... hold the milk." She looked at them and Matsu looked down with a narrowing of her eyes.

"Yeah… but that guy's got the IQ of a houseplant~"

"Maybe just over-emotional," Jasper suggested, being rather charitable to the man's outburst. "It's easier to blame others for your problems when you're caught up in the heat of the moment. It can make people do... irrational things. He's looking to fight a war that may not even exist anymore... Lots of folks seem to be preparing and not acting these days."

Jasper had done his best to impart balance on his student, something he himself struggled to learn growing up. Emotions did not need to be denied, but they were not something that should dictate one's actions. This was true of even non-Force users. This imperial seemed to believe that one failed business deal brought ruin to his home. Perhaps he failed to recognize his own part in it all.

Whatever the case was, what they wanted clearly was not ment to be. Jasper would have to keep an eye on this man. At least to ensure he kept his family safe.

In my humble opinion~ Denon street food ought to come with a long wait, mild verbal abuse, and the lurking suspicion that the recipe is older than the district."

"Heh... Denon," the Jedi Master muttered, pausing to sink his teeth into his churro.

He remembered the life of a boy who fought through hell day in and day out on Denon. All those masked folks he never learned the identity of, telling him to go home. He still remembered being upset by them. Hiding their faces while insisting he didn't do his job. Maybe he misunderstood what they stood for.

Jasper had always found some issue that cropped up whenever he tried to try the street food on that dreary planet. Drug lords and cyber psychos and Force knew what else. But then... one day it worked. He got the meal he had sought for so long.

And so much more.

"The street food is alright," he finally shrugged. "A solid seven out of ten. They over use salt on everything."

"Yeah." Casaana practically glowed at the thought of how busy the booth was as Persephone mentioned it. She paused after handing out some more food, looking thoughtfully at her friend and feeling her awkwardness through the Force. Was something wrong? Had something changed between them? People thought that such understandings came naturally with the Force, but often the Padawan found herself more lost than ever trying to unravel what she was supposed to do or say. What had she said she wanted? Boys? She knew a boy! "Hey, you want me to call a friend of mine? He's a cutie, eyes like green jade. He's a boooooy." She sang out the last bit, trying to spur Persie back to normalcy.

She was reaching for her comm when a Master Ike called her name and began asking about her food while corralling her flying child. She thought Matsu was joking about the noodles, but decided to answer her anyway. "Gungans taught me how to make it, along with the Paonga Fresca. I wanted something traditional to serve people visiting Naboo for the festival. And uhh, it's pork." On the youngling's request for chocolate, Casaana nodded and fixed her a moogan tea for its light chocolaty flavor and passed it over after topping it with whipped cream and sprinkled sugar. "If you don't like that, I can give you some caf." Sneaking a peek at Persephone to check on her, she turned back to the Master Jedi, "You two want any food?"

"Perhaps you're right, but he's offering the value of a couple of houses in credits for a bounty on my corporate liaison. I could have overlooked the slight, but threatening my staff is absolutely uncalled for. I've half a mind to give him the crab bait treatment," Braze said simply.

Then, as quickly as the irritation had come, he let it pass.

"But enough about that odd fellow… You know what would go great with these churros? Have you ever had bubble tea? We've got a stall set up selling them, with all kinds of fun pearls."

Braze reached out, caught Jasper by the arm, and excitedly led him over to one of the nearby stalls. Without much hesitation, he placed an order for two drinks: one melon flavored, the other strawberry. He handed Jasper the strawberry one.

CS3FUG8.png

"I don't like how exposed you are, my Lord."

A faint smile parted His lips as He brought the ornate cup to His lips, drinking a portion of the hot tea He'd ordered. The wait staff all stood rigidly in place, their eyes transfixed with fear on the man who had single-handedly cleared out the entire parlor with His presence alone. To His left stood the young woman who had served Him the tea, her knuckles bone white as she clutched to the serving tray to her chest like a protective talisman. Eyes wide, breath shallow, she knew not if this was to be her last day in this world.

The woman who stood to His right was another matter entirely. She stood calm, resolute, her deep crimson uniform immaculately tailored and pressed. Her long dark hair was bound back beneath a cover emblazoned with a silver diamond, bright yellow eyes staring transfixed upon each and everyone of the wait staff simultaneously. At her hip rested a blaster pistol resting in its holster, and she fought against the urge to protectively place her hand against the grip.

He didn't need protection, there was no one in this galaxy who could do Him serious harm. She knew that instinctively, just as one understood how to breath. That didn't matter though, the compulsion remained. A lesser servant might have reached for the weapon, but she would not degrade herself in His eyes. Not this way.

Placing the cup down, the man spoke with a smooth, velvety voice. One that enticed any who heard it to listen, regardless of what they'd been doing beforehand. "Then what fun would that be, Halcyon? We've come here to enjoy ourselves, have we not?"

She breathed out of her nose, the only sign of exasperation she'd allow. "This is not my idea of fun, Lord. This world makes my skin crawl." To a woman who had only known the embrace of darkness since a young age, the light of Naboo was suffocating.

"Then consider it a test, Halcyon." That immediately made every hair on her body stand straight up, it was a tone she was readily familiar with. It was a tone to listen, to obey. His smile only widened at her visible discomfort, and for a moment she looked every bit the child He'd found on that burning world, the one who tried to put a knife in His belly. "Behave well and I'll grant you a boon." He rose to His feet, His great form nearly reaching the ceiling, causing all the staff to back away instinctively.

His eyes turned to the one who'd directly served Him, the one still clutching the serving tray. "You are familiar with Theed, yes?" For a moment, the girl couldn't speak, couldn't find her voice. She stammered something out, but she couldn't be sure it was words. The man's expression never once changed, even as a kitchen knife tore itself free from somewhere back in the kitchen and soared out to hover in the air right in front of her. She squeaked and tied to throw herself back, but found that her body wouldn't obey her.

Then her arm, muscles and tendons refusing to answer her, reached out and grabbed it by the handle. Against her own volition, she held the blade's edge to her own throat so tightly that a thin line of blood began to trickle down onto her clothes.

"I will not repeat myself," whispered the titan, words hot with venom.

"Y-yes," she managed, "I've l-lived here all my l-life."

His smile shifted, almost jovial. "Good, then you'll be our guide." The knife immediately tumbled from her hands, falling to the floor with an awful clatter before the blade stuck itself into the wood at an odd angle. Halcyon sighed to herself before smoothing out the front of her uniform. The tall man moved ahead of them, deftly nimble in the small parlor despite His impressive height. The serving girl numbly followed, fresh tears streaking down both her cheeks to readily replace those that already dried.

Lily heard that there was an exhibition of light event occurring at Theed and it had the Battle Master curious. It had been a while since she last really attended such an event like this and there was some free time in her schedule to allow for her to take the time to step away and enjoy herself. Lily sent a message to Kito Kito , her Padawan. Letting the student know about the event if she wished to attend as well and that Lily would allow her the day off from training if she wished to enjoy herself.

The dress that Lily had selected for the event was one that she had brought on Eshan, it was detailed and styled in a way that meant that she spent hours putting the outfit on. Making sure that it fitted her figure well and nothing would get caught or torn. Breathing in deeply, Lily inspected herself for several moments in the mirror, making sure that her outfit worked and that she would look perfect for the event. The additional jewellery was added and the whole look was perfect. Too perfect and so she had to send a picture of herself to Shan Shan so he could see how she looked in the dress as well.

Stepping out of her apartment and wandering through the streets to the main gathering for the event. Her heels clicked as she walked, her mind thinking on what was happening in the galaxy. How things had been going on around the council and the Jedi. What she needed to do more in terms of how to be a Battle Master, and fighting the Sith. There was an attempt to push back against the Covenant and the Sith Order, however things were a bit slower now. Lily knew that she needed to be sorting herself out and getting back into the fight. Doing the work that she promised to be doing when she was knighted.

Once she spotted the exhibition, a smile formed on Lily's lips, looking around the area. It was beautiful and creative and delightful. Lily knew this was exactly the kind of setting that inspired people to boost morale and build hope. Seeing the joy and peaceful moments in life. Pausing for a moment before she allowed herself to get lost in the fray of things, Lily noticed a somewhat familiar face. One that Lily had made a mental note previously to talk with and attempt to get to know more of.

Steeling herself, Lily was not sure how well received she would be. But hoped that the interaction would go well. Wandering over to the queen, Lily gave a small bow to her, "greetings my majesty, come to attend the exhibition of light as well?" Lily asked, surprised in the attire that Quinn had chosen to come for the event. It seemed so casual for her to be in. Not necessarily bad but different.

Having taken a moment for herself to look around the stands, just to have a better idea of the other company's products and the possibilities they might present for future collaboration, Amalia found herself sumbling upon a peculiar sight: a seemingly small quarrel between two people she knew, with one being Ronhar Tane Ronhar Tane whose position within the N&Z didn't witheld his ability to stand as the representative of Mahporeem itself, while the other was Braze Braze who had a reputation of extremes within the corporate circles.

"Sir Tane, how lovely to see you," A feigned smile appeared on the N&Z CEO's face as she nodded towards the Mahporeem statesman, and as she turned towards the younger person in this quarrel, the woman's eyes looked up and down again, nodding with an air of agreement and approval. "Master Braze, I have heard of your forrays in design and couture...but I must say you look absolutely splendid."

Tapping with a finger upon her silver and amethyst broche which represented the newly designed N&Z logo, Amalia didn't need to mince too many words on who she was, in case the representative from the Star Bazaar wasn't aware of who she was. "I do not wish to be that person...but can we dispense with the quarrel and hold it for another time, it isn't good for the optics of any business if we can't maintain a civil front."

"Sir Ronhar,"
The woman gave the man a rather stern face, but retained the calm within her movements in order to avoid drawing too much attention where none was truly needed. "I believe we have a scheduled meeting with the former prefect of the Imperial Confederation next week, have you managed to gain some traction in the affairs of Mahporeem or should the N&Z take you up on your request?"

Positioning herself right in between the two, Amalia calmly turned her attention back towards the insanely well-dressed Braze, again giving the young master a rare and genuine smile of approval. "Master Braze...might I inquire if by any chance you would be willing to design me something when time would allow for it? "

"But enough about that odd fellow… You know what would go great with these churros? Have you ever had bubble tea? We've got a stall set up selling them, with all kinds of fun pearls."

"I'm not gonna pretend like I know what that means," Jasper admitted. "But sure. Why not."

It was about then that some random woman in garish garb approached and addressed both Braze and the Imperial who was walking away, something about insisting that they stop fighting after the previous conversation had ended? They seemed to imply that they were also Imperial. That maybe accounted for the weirdness.

"Master Braze...might I inquire if by any chance you would be willing to design me something when time would allow for it? "

And they seemed exclusively interested in Braze, given that they offered no words in his direction. The Jedi Master sort of just stood there with his churro awkwardly for a moment before he simply decided to turn back to Braze and act as though nothing had happened.

"So, where do y'all have this booth set up?" he asked. "I might see about bringing something to Jalen if I can. He should still be here on Naboo. At least, he hasn't told me he's left yet."

Jalen was often one to over communicate with Jasper specifically.

"This is the second time this month, Carnifex."

The terrified tea girl gasped at the sound of a voice behind her, turning to see who it was. Syreeta stood a few steps away, looking pretty much the same as she had on Moorja. She regarded the Sith Lord, not with annoyance or anger, but with something akin to disappointment.

"Once again, I have been called by the Force to stop you from brutalizing a woman." Turning to his latest victim, Syreeta nodded, the Force transmitting a silent message: go now. The tea girl wasted no time fleeing from the scene. Should Carnifex or his lackeys try to intervene, they would find their predations blocked by Syreeta's warding spell. Not that she expected them to cause such a scene in the middle of a public space, but better safe than sorry. "Does it ever begin to bore you, doing the same thing over and over again?" she asked.

There was another reason she had sought out Carnifex. The fate of the pregnant woman she had been unable to save on Moorja still weighed heavily on her. She would know what had become of Jairdain, even if the answer was... cruel.

Katherine would admit she wasn’t really attending with any interest on what was being displayed across the promenade. The corporate world was something that the redhead hadn’t outright avoided per se, but rather hadn’t gone out of her way to interact with. Ultimately though, it was a big gathering of people to celebrate the High Republic’s continued endeavour to build a brighter future.

The last time she had properly set foot on Naboo, it was still the ‘Royal Naboo Republic’. Sure, the change had happened during her time away, but this and her more recent visits had been the first time she was able to see the change with own eyes.

Visually there wasn’t a crazy difference, the planet was still a beautiful sight. But there was a different ‘feeling’, a type of energy that buzzed around the place that seemed to shine brighter with every passing day. While plenty of people were in attendance to check out the corporate competition, there were many more there to simply celebrate.

And that was why Katherine decided to attend. She wanted to get an idea on the ‘whose who’ that existed both within and around High Republic space. Whether it be through direct interactions or just memorizing their names and faces.

Fortunately, it seemed the winged Jedi wasn’t terribly late to the event. People were still arriving as she flew over towards the promenade. She sighted a spacious enough landing spot and began to descend, making sure she wasn’t hitting or knocking anyone or anything over as she flapped her wings to soften her descent.

Taking a moment to adjust her outfit, Katherine walked towards the exhibition’s entrance. As she passed by where numerous vehicles were parked, she caught sight of a couple of Echani; Lily Decoria Lily Decoria and Quinn Varanin Quinn Varanin . The former she recognized, but the latter she couldn’t quite put a name to. It irked the redhead’s curiosity to not know, but given the pair seemed to be talking, she thought better than interrupt them.

Instead, she gave a polite nod before continuing on.
