Accessibility

Access to the Duck Pond of Solitude is rather limited, as it is located on the grounds of the Dustcairn Plantation, tucked away in its many verdant gardens and watched over by a trained team of gardeners and landscapers. The only individual with unlimited access is Duckie Talon themselves, as well as a few choice other individuals such as Exarch Srina Talon who can come and go as freely as Duckie. All others are expected to request permission to access the Duck Pond of Solitude - with such requests often going through Amelia von Sorenn herself or her close personal aide, Kassara.

Description

The Duck Pond of Solitude is a specially constructed Duck Pond specifically made for Duckie Talon. Tucked away in the verdant gardens of the Dustcairn Plantation, it is one of the only locations which is permitted to have sunlight shining upon it - all for the benefit of Duckie to make sure he gets as much Vitamin D as is healthy - though also has a number of small grottos to provide shade on those particularly hot days. A series of decorative rocks, water foliage, and various other little plants bring additional life to the pond which is separated into a smaller upper pond and a larger lower pond - with a gently sloping slide that connects the two - with a smaller set of stairs to assist in climbing back up to the upper pond.

POINTS OF INTEREST

The slide of Adventure - Consisting of two gentle sloping slides and short drop waterfalls less than an inch in height, the Slide of Adventure provides a quick and easily accessible mode of transportation from the upper portion of the Duck Pond of Solitude to the larger pond at the base of the mighty hideout.

The Bed of Amazing Restfulness - Tucked away in a small grotto that only allows just the perfect amount of light into it at any one moment - adorned with soft bedding and all manner of trinkets and prizes awarded to Duckie for his many valiant sorties against the worms. This little grotto seems to provide a full night's rest or the feeling of such even when only a small nap is taken.

The Floating Ball of Training - Akin more to a ball pit that is tucked away off to the side, this small training area provides all the enrichment needed for a mighty warrior of the caliber of Duckie Talon. A series of balls floating in the water provides a means to not only train; they're also rather fun to push down into the water and watch them pop back up when finally let go.

The Feeding Grounds of Wonder - No matter what time of day or night, whenever the little, brightly shining bell is rung, food magically appears in this small area making sure that Duckie has all he needs to continue growing into a big, strong, brave Duck. A second small bell also seems to make magic hands appear that assist in cleaning and preening those soft, magnificent feathers.

SECURITY

Maximum - The Duck Pond of Solitude is protected by a rather brave and fearless little Duck, with the additional support of the tall keepers, those that make sure that the Duck Pond is regularly cleaned and kept in a prime and proper appearance by removing any waste and debris that may have built up in a rather timely manner. Clearly, the mighty security forces of the Duck Pond of Solitude will make any worm think twice before attempting any kind of assault.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Following the eventful and rather unexpected gathering at the Dustcairn Plantation, while former Confederacy of Independent Systems Grand Marshal of Naval Command - Amelia von Sorenn - was attempting to enjoy her retirement as it were; the brave little duck known as Duckie Talon had feared for the safety of the Tall Woman, fearing that the worms had finally assaulted one of his closest friends and allies. Of course, no such plan had been hatched - though when Amelia noticed that brave little duckling at her back, protecting her from the worms, she thought that there was only one thing that she could really do to repay such bravery and courage in the face of overwhelming odds. Thus, the Duck Pond of Solitude was created, a place for the magical little duckling - who apparently can appear at any point in the galaxy at a moments notice and in the strangest of locations [such as a battlefield] - where he could rest, relax, train, and plan his next strike on those dastardly worms and their attempt at galactic conquest.
