Oh. It sounded like a decent suggestion though. Tumblr is a blogging site. The Cosmos series is pretty much a blog. These sorts of topics are popular there. The main problem is that a lot of people assume that everyone on Tumblr is over-exaggerating everything. That's (obviously for anyone who's spent longer than five seconds on there) not true. There are the extremists, the crazy, the ignorant/close-minded, of course. But the site isn't full of them. It's mostly full of weird fandoms.

The irony here is that Star Wars is probably one of the least racist sci-fi series out there, right next to Star Trek. It's every progressive's wet dream. A bunch of alien (can I still say alien?) races, who are basically completely equal and interchangeable with each other except for outward appearance (lulz), coming together to form one big galactic government and fight the oppressive Nazi Empire made up exclusively of white men.

If anything, it's the evil fascists like me who should be complaining.

Bothans and Chiss are both Zenophobic and Zenocentric, to varying degrees. Humans dominate the galaxy. Even on Chaos, this is true. Lando isn't any more selfish than Han Solo was in the first one. It's also funny because Lando is one of the most white-presenting black characters in movies. What with him becoming the "responsible business owner" of a multi-billion credit galactic industry. But I guess since he had some negative qualities at one point it must be cause he's black, and that's racist or something. Oh, and he didn't get a medal for blowing up the Death Star. Also racist.

Star Wars the original trilogy and the prequels have a lot of racist aspects to them. From the aliens that portray different ethnic group stereotypes to the characters themselves.

Let's look at our main characters, all of them are white. There's nothing wrong with that but for a very large galaxy the entirety of the main cast consists of white people. Specifically white males. Now this has been an ongoing issue in holiwood for some time now, and we don't really need to get into it. But the films themselves lack a lot of diversity and continue to portray a lot of harmful things. Lando if you have read any of the comics in Star Wars is a liar. He uses a battle that he was never a part of to pick up women with his greased hair and smooth moves. He's an untrustworthy person and he's exploited by the white charcter in Tag and Binks comic to do as they please or else they will bring his lies to the light. Now you are correct that he runs a billion dollar corporation and destroyed the Death Star but this does not excuse the fact that the only black charcter who actually had a personality in the Star Wars universe was a LIAR a WOMANIZER and a TRAITOR. Do you see where I'm getting at here?

Now moving on to today. Look at the trailer for the new movie, the storm trooper in the beginning (John Boyega) has gotten a lot of hate for playing a storm trooper. Not because of his acting resume but because he is a black man. For the first time a black man might have a part in the main cast of Star Wars and be gets shit for it because he's black. Now can you for one moment tell me that that's not racist? He even had to go on his twitter just to make a statement about it. About all the people who flip the fuck out because the main cast isn't all white and the character isn't a womanizing liar. Yeah star wars doesn't have any racist aspects to it at all, it's a perfect galaxy.

And judging by the fact you just made a holocaust joke it seems to me that you probably aren't very sensitive to tragedies or anything of the sort.

It is a colossal waste of time and effort to analyze an almost 40 year old film in the context of today's social mores.

Also, I don't buy into the whole "the fandom is outraged because a black guy". As with almost all racial scandals, it is a complete hoax. At the very most, it is a case of narrative-inventing jacktards seizing upon the antics of fringe lunatics and imputing that to the entire fandom. How about no?
