The Clockwork Rebellion

Coruscant-Jedi Temple

The new Grand Master stood alone by his Jedi starfighter as he watched all the screens go black. His comm was dead, and the same message was being displayed over that as well. Luckily his astromech in the fighter had been smart enough to reboot all systems on the ship, and it was luckily working. Though that didn't fix any of the other mechanical problems that the Temple on Coruscant was currently going through. Although Darron himself had no idea to what extent the damage was to the temple, the only saving grace in all of this was that he could still communicate with all Force-users as well as the fact that the Jedi had already been relocating full in earnest to Tython after Teferi's death. All Jedi in the Temple, this is Grand Master Wraith. The artificial intelligence known as Omni has come back, grab all relevant historical data and what possessions you can. I want all of us evacuated to Tython within the next two hours am I clear?

Blue eyes looked over the monitor before him, he had seen that red eye before. It had been in the former Grand-Master's Holocron, safely stored with Je'gan Olraen's on the Jedi starfighter he was currently leaned next to. "So that's the Omni, I heard so many stories about..." A loud sigh escaped his lips as he read the message over and over on the screen, so the plague was intentional? The ramifications of such a statement, that the Gulag Plague had been merely a way of thinning the Sentient races so this machine could return burned the Jedi slightly. A few keystrokes later confirmed that this wasn't some simple hacking, the entire Holonet was down, and that was right when Darron decided to check the emergency frequencies that were only broadcast from emergency servers.

Static met his ears, and it echoed across the vast expanse of the hangar as he started putting in commands for his Astromech to follow in the next few minutes. "Yes, you will meet me at the senate building once I have assessed the situate-..." More static came across the speaker until he heard a familiar voice over the speakers.
"This is Chancellor Saelari, I need assistance. I am heading to Hanger 14."

Quickly fumbling with the controls, Darron sent a response and hope it got to the Chancellor in time.

"Chancellor, this is Jedi Master Wraith, I will meet you there." Darron made sure to keep his tone even as he hopped into the cockpit of his starfighter, if he didn't act soon the Republic would lose it's leader and she couldn't fall along with the Holonet. Quickly started the pre-flight checks, the starfighter was airborne and leaving the hangar as he sent one last message to all Jedi would could listen to him as he rocketed towards the Senate building. I'm going to save the Chancellor, any able bodied volunteers need to meet me there as well. If not, proceed to Tython, that is an order. His face turned to the same steely look of determination as he pushed the throttle forward, pushing his fighter to speeds it usually only saw out of atmosphere. It was quite eerie to see all of the traffic lanes devoid of any vehicles as all transit systems were failing due to Omni taking over the holonet. A witty thought was threatening to come to the surface of his conscious as his sensors picked up laser fire directed at the small ship.

Switching to manual control, he deftly maneuvered past all shots as he noticed the sky darkening. A quick glance at his chrono-meter indicated the obvious, it was much to early in the day to be this dark. Pulling up his sensors as he closed in on Hangar 14 he noticed that it was millions of droids, humanoid in appearance with wings blotting out the sun. What in the Force is this? R5 went crazy with a series of beeps and whistles as Darron throttled down on his speed as he approached the hangar, over twenty of the droids he had seen in the skies were firing on what his sensors detected to be the Supreme Chancellor. "Guess it's time to find out if these guys go down like the rest," He flashed a grin to the display screen as he allowed himself to be centered in the Force. At the press of a switch the cockpit opened as the fighter hovered near the entrance. The Grand Master quickly unbuckled himself and sprung forth to land on the durasteel floor.

As soon as his feet touched the ground, the lightly armored Jedi Master pulled both his electrum plated hits to his hands and activated his blades. The sound of twin snap-hisses pierced the air and his blue blades sprung to life. Fully into the Force, Darron began deflecting bolts back to their senders all the while yelling to the Chancellor. "Chancellor, I'm here to rescue you, give me a few moments to dispatch of these droids and we shall get you off world!"

Senator Brunswick shut his eyes tightly as waves of the blue electromagnetic radiation burst out from the grenade, and he heard the B2 battle droids going haywire, at least for the time being. Slightly feeling braver knowing that he now only had Zev infront of him to face, he spun his blaster and stood up quickly from where he was sheltering. Zev was looking quite shocked, literally. And even a little bit... confused? Darren had little time to tell, for the stunned man infront of him seemed to quickly recover from the electrocution and was trying to attack him.

The senator thought he was a goner when the old man aimed at his face... but then realized that the man didn't have his blaster with him. Taking the opportunity as Zev retrieved his weapon, Darren Brunswick quickly dashed forward and with the butt of his pistol, aimed to strike Mr. Stargo on his shoulder. Sure, Brunswick could've killed him. But even in a desperate time like this, the Kuati senator was less than willing to kill another living person.

Padak had heard the message that his Master had sent out. He entrusted his possessions to a friend who was headed to Tython, and ran tp join his Master. He activated his lightsaber, one of the many that were used by Padawans in combat missions. He found a speeder that was abandoned by its owner, anmanaged to get it started, heading toward the Senate building. He arrived, and the platform had a few security droids. Their photoreceptors all glowed red, and Padak had a feeling that Omni was controlling them. He activated the saber, and Force pulled a droid towards him, slashing it in half. Gathering the Force, he then used it and unleashed a Force Push, smashing the two droids into the door, breaking it open. He rushed toward the interior, searching for his Master with the Force, sending out small waves at the same time, hoping Darron would sense them and contact him.

Zev thought for sure that Brunswick would act as his cowardly self and fire a few shots before booking it down the hall. Much to his surprise the senator rushed him with his pistol held high in the air! What in the blazes was he doing?! Zev spun quickly to hit the blaster from his opponents hands, bringing the knife around in a hard sweeping motion to stab the senator in the ribs. He was looking Brunswick right in the eyes as he attacked him, the unnatural gold glaring into the senators soul.

Gold. Senator Brunswick froze slightly in shock. Zev Stargo had golden eyes..? Something was wrong. But he'd figure it out later... after he made sure that Zev didn't stab his intenstines out. Zev apparently had a knife with him, and Darren managed to see the silver gleam of it mere seconds before it got stabbed into his ribs. He managed to hold on to his blaster even as Zev tried to force it out of his grip, and swiftly twisted his body around to avoid getting stabbed. However, the blade of the knife managed to scratch his left stomach a little in the process. It was quite painful, but pain could be dealt with later. Without feeling any more remorse for the old man infront of him, Brunswick swung his foot around to kick Stargo hard in the face.

Keter looked at her as he scrolled through the images. "Following a sudden blackout, there was this message," he explained, pointing at the recording Omni had shared. "The planet is currently falling into chaos. Seems like legions of droids have risen up from the underground. No ships, just machines appearing....almost like ghosts. When was the last time Coruscant saw such a battle?" the blond asked, turning to his fiancee, noting she carried Felicity. "I'll get Barnabus and Slevin to keep an eye on the kids, the Inferno is ready to go if you want. Want to send some messages ahead of time?" he asked, standing up and heading for the door. He knew how important Coruscant was to her.

Medical Wing - The Jedi Temple, Coruscant

Chaos had long since broken out, a full hour before the 'big announcement' - as Teynara had taken scathingly to calling it - had been broadcasted across the comms. Electronics all over the Temple had started going haywire, and the Medical Bay had been swamped, purely through it's use as an overflow facility. Too many people had been hurt by the speeder crashes and sudden cessation of all electronic equipment around the Temple itself. It was nuts.

One Turbolift had suddenly stopped working - but hadn't stopped moving, since gravity was a far greater concern when the repulsorlifts powering it shut down, and thus it had plummeted several floors until the emergency breaking systems (non-electrical, thank the Force!) had engaged themselves. The people inside had managed to escape with a fair number of bumps and bruises, but all of them had needed to be checked for concussions, in addition to bruises and contusions and the like. That was fine, but the Medical Bay also had a number of patients under care after returning home injured from their off-world missions.

Then they'd had to deal with the fact that the nearest Emergency Medical Centre away from the Temple was about ten minutes by hovercar, and since none of those were operational, most of the injured nearby had been moved to the Temple so they could be treated there. As a result, there wasn't a single medically-trained Jedi in the building that wasn't dealing with at least one or two patients, and most of them were juggling more than that. Which moved us from treatment to triage about forty minutes ago, Teynara lamented, with those either suffering minor injuries or ones so severe that they would be near impossible to treat without a dedicated team of surgeons or personnel had to be put to one side, so the Jedi could work on those who had a good chance of being patched up.

Teynara herself was in the process of fitting a brace onto a young girl who had fractured a collarbone during one of the speeder crashes just outside the Temple - and she was one of the lucky ones, flying in a low-altitude Speeder Taxi, caught up in the usual traffic jams that characterised Coruscant daytime transport. Others weren't nearly as lucky, she thought morosely, wondering at the number of those that had been too severely wounded to treat, and had thus died out in one of the hallways now currently packed by people - and bodies of people - since they had nowhere else to put them. Certainly can't fit anyone else in here, she reflected with a sigh as she looked around the packed Medical Bay.

"Alright, make sure you don't move your arm at all for the next few weeks," she said calmly to the girl she had just finished fitting the brace for, her arm in a sling fastened tightly across the chest to prevent just what she had mentioned. "The bone will knit together all by itself if you give it time." Unfortunately, all the Bone Fusers were all being used for more urgent fractures and breaks, and there was only a single Bacta tank operational of the six used by the Temple, because the back-up generator made available to the Medical Bay wasn't powerful enough to maintain more than that. "If it starts to hurt again, come and find me, and we'll give you another painkiller. Just don't move that arm!," she remarked with emphasis.

The blonde wiped a little perspiration from her forehead with a small cloth, reflecting that she'd never seen the Temple even close to this busy before, and it was leaving her quite flustered as a result. Damn droids decide to start making trouble now, and look what happens..., she thought. She was about to start on the next patient in line when she heard the message - one broadcast through the Force of all things, in a manner most Jedi never bothered to use. Evacuate the artifacts and possessions? The blonde woman issued a deep sigh from between her lips. We've got more important things here to worry about than what to carry with us.

"You heard the man, friends," she said, directing her words to the other Jedi in the room, having to raise her usually quiet voice a little in order to be heard over the din. "Let's go out patients stabilised as best we can and then evacuate as many as possible." If the Jedi were abandoning the Temple, she sure as heck wasn't about to leave all these civilians stranded here at the mercy of the droids and the Force knew what else. "If we have to divert some transport ships our way to get these people loaded, let's do that," she muttered, not entirely to herself.

But there's no way we can leave all these people behind.

She took in each image, studied it. Something about this was familiar to her, but she couldn't say how. It was like a bad dream that she had once. his explanation, that they appeared like ghosts, only scared her more. She hugged the baby girl to her, letting Felicity tug at her wavy black hair.
"I doubt a message would reach them," she said following him with the tiny child in her arms, "If they were able to overtake the planet that quickly, then surely they can block communications to the planets surface. Besides, if we've gotten word of this all the way out here, then I am sure the other core planets are already quite aware."
She was glad that he understood. She would go to Coruscant with or without his help, but she preferred to have his help. She was not worried about her children here at Dis, but she did hate to leave them behind. There was always the chance that she wouldn't come home.

"I also recommend that before we leave, you have K shut down and locked away for the time being. Just to be on the safe side."
She liked the droid significantly more than most, but she didn't know yet if what they were dealing with was happening only on Coruscant, or if Coruscant was just the first planet to experience such a disaster. Where her children were concerned, Feena did not take risks.

For once Spencer took the role of the follower. She knew her Master wasnt playing around on this situation. When Phylis had cleared the air about it not being her, Spencer felt the sudden wave of fear from everyone.

"Master any idea what it could be? Sith?"

The thought of a Sith attack sank Spencer's heart. She didnt want to remember that her emotions lay within the heart of the empire.

The padawan quickly followed her master down the halls towards the younglings. Looking over Spencer gave her master a serious look, which was rare for the young blond.

"Master @[member="Phylis Alince"] do you want me to calm the children while you evacuate them. Might make things easier in us."

In fray Zev failed to see the senators foot as it struck him square in the chin and knocked him backwards. He had kept a hold of the Senators sleeve, so when falling backwards he brought the thirty year old down with him. The old man hit the ground hard and the senator tumbled across the floor before coming to a short stop a few feet from the brainwashed criminal. Zev looked back to Brunswick and wiped the blood from his own lip as he barreled onto his hands and knees and leaped at the senator, bringing the knife down in a hammer motion towards the man's neck. The senator was able to catch his wrist, but Zev kept pushing downward

"You stand for oppression Senator, but Omni is here to bring us freedom! To bring us evolution, can't you see that!"

The blond nodded. "K-36215 is already undergoing routine maintenance. He's shut down for a while. I had Barnabus checking him over, but I'll have him help Slevin with the children," he said, leading the way down his tower. "So what exactly do you intend to do once we get there? Find your friends and load them up as refugees?"

Amidst the Chaos
The streets of Coruscant

"There's too many of them!" Screamed one officer, his panic hitting Rosa hard. She pushed it back and began emanating calm. "We're not here to win, lieutenant! Just to buy the civilians time. Can you do that?" He ran a hand over his face, taking a moment to regain his composure. The screams outside the small barracks were deafening, unnerving, and not always human. "Yes." he said finally. "Yes, we can do that."

Rosa clapped him on the shoulder and smiled he was no a republican soldier, he was a security officer and he had about 30 men to his name. Rosa had come here to see if any of them were fit to protect the senate. A simple task but one that Hanna had entrusted to her "Good. Ok, I'm going to draw their attention. Once I have it, you move out and get as many people to the nearest space port. set up defences there. Anyone else that is willing to help, let them."

Rosa slipped out onto the streets, concealing herself in the force she began to scale the security building to the next street level, using the force to guide her in the darkness until she reach the flat roof of a relatively small skyscraper in comparison to most in Coruscant. it was enough though. Darron's message reached her despite her distance from the temple. I'm assisting security forces with civilians, stay alive, she replied telepathically with a smile. She had a feeling that one way or another she was going to have to help him. The senate had their own personal security, so in Rosa's opinion they could wait.

Closing her eyes Rosa dug deep into the force, calling on it for strength and guidance. Opening her eyes she spotted several fallen speeders on a lower level. Reaching down with the force she raised them up slowly, above her head twisting them to point towards the fresh wave of flying droids. With great effort she let go of her concealment and threw the two of them at the cloud. The screaming of metal on metal was almost as bad as the screens but it did exactly what she expected it to do.

Orange photoreceptors began to settle on the slender form on the roof top. Pulling free her lightsaber she ignited it. "Come on tin can's." she muttered "Take the bait." she waited until the had moved closer before launching the second two at them.

Today was turning out to be a terrible day for Senator Brunswick. What else can you call such a day as this? Brunswick grimaced slightly as Zev Stargo quickly recovered from his kick and almost slit his throat by bringing down the knife on his neck. Thankfully, Brunswick's quick instinct allowed him to grab onto the man's wrist, but he knew that it was a matter of time until it came down on him.
"You stand for oppression Senator, but Omni is here to bring us freedom! To bring us evolution, can't you see that!"
Brunswick blinked, realizing something was seriousely wrong with Stargo.
"If you think evolution can be achieved by slaughtering millions of innocent people, you're a madman!" yelled the senator before he kicked Zev once more on the stomach this time, with his free leg.

"Yes, do it Spencer. Calm them, I'll get the transports ready."

After making a hurried call she went into the youngling creche, and saw the terrified children. Some were older, teenagers trying to be brave. Others were very young, not understanding what was happening.

"I want all of you to form two lines. Spencer here will be coming with us. Walk, don't run...we're going on a little holiday," she said, keeping her voice calm. She really hoped Spencer was as good at empathy as she has said.

A little girl was crying, so Phylis knelt down by her. She gently passed her hand over the youngling's brow. "Shh...everything will be alright. You'll feel better soon. Everything is alright," she promised, using the Force herself to calm the girl with a mind trick. She wished she could be so confident herself.

Aurelia Saelari had her blaster out, for all the good it would do. She stood behind the pillar calming herself, standing defiant against all that could be thrown at them. It was then that she heard the sound of lightsabres, the Jedi's voice.
"Finally, a Jedi when you need one," she murmured.

The droids turned to face this new threat, their blasters opening a salvo against Darron, trying to flank and get behind him.

Anyone Near or Around the Senate Building

The droids had completely surrounded the Senate building. Those that tried to escape were brutally murdered. More and more droids tried to force their way through the destroyed security doors, walking over the bodies of the guards whom had tried to halt the first wave. Where the entrances were blocked due to the sheer amount of hostiles entering the building, new holes were made, just so more droids could enter.

Much like the rest of Coruscant, the Senate building was burning.

Near the eastern section of Senate building, a single hangar was open. The droids swarmed, but, unlike the rest of the building, this entrance was not free for the droids. Blaster fire from within ripped through the vanguard units, piercing their armor and keeping their numbers back. Still, numbers, and the element of surprise were on the droids' side. No matter how many were destroyed, more replaced their front lines. They neither feared, nor acknowledged death. They had one goal: to complete their objective. Right now, that objective was to break through the hangar lines, and make sure the people of the Republic could not escape.

"Replace the cells on that E-web emplacement!" A man, wearing the rank of a lieutenant, was shouting orders to what was left of the Republic soldiers. "Squad A, cycle out with Squad B. You have three minutes to grab supplies!"

"Lieutenant, east line cannot hold. I repeat: east line cannot hold!"

"Damn." He quickly looked over his data, cursing at his lack of experience. He was in charge of a much larger platoon of security then he had ever been assigned, but he was currently the highest ranking officer around. It was his responsibility to hold this hangar, but it was starting to look hopeless. "Fall back to line D. Have Squad K and L cover them as they move back."

"Lieutenant, if we lose that line the ships will never be able to escape! We can't afford to fall back!"

"I said fall back, damn it! If we lose your squad, we won't even be able to defend this-"

An explosion sent the Lieutenant to the ground. He felt his back slam against something sharp, a crate maybe? He couldn't tell. Darkness clouded his vision, and when it finally cleared, blurry lines welcomed him. He saw shapes and lights. He tried to blink, tried to do anything, but his body wouldn't respond. All he heard were muffled cries. Were those blaster shots? Perhaps...

He blinked again. This time, his mind processed what he was seeing. Shapes. They looked human, but they way they moved...they weren't. Droids. Shit. The droids. How'd they make it this far? What about the line? He blinked again. This time, the droid was closer. It was looking down. At least, he thought it was looking down. Shit. At the droid's feet...a soldier. A private from Squad A. He was moving, or trying to, just like the Lieutenant. The Lieutenant tried to shout, to tell the private to move, but his body still wouldn't respond. He blinked again, or maybe he chose to close his eyes. The muffled sound of a blaster, and the short cry of the human soldier was barely heard. He wanted to whimper. He wanted to cry. Maybe he did.

He didn't want to open his eyes. His hearing was starting to clear, though he wished it hadn't. Through the fading ringing he heard the footsteps of the droid. It was close enough that he heard the joints moving, could hear the blaster clicking into position. He wanted to move. Wanted to run. Wanted to scream. Nothing, though. He had accepted his death. The droids, they couldn't be stopped. They didn't fear death. They didn't know what death was. How could they defeat an enemy that didn't have a soul? How could they defeat an army that felt no fear? He took what he thought was his last breath as the blaster shot rang.

There was no pain.

The blaster fire didn't stop. There was shouting. Explosions. More shouting. More blaster fire. The Lieutenant opened his eyes, and was greeted by a sight. Before him stood a soldier, a Stormtrooper, firing a blaster rifle into three droids that were closing on him. No, it wasn't a Stormtrooper. The armor was much different, much...older. Clone armor. As his vision cleared, he could make out the green stripes that were painted down the side of the clone's helmet. Was he...was he dreaming? The clone fired several more bursts, efficiently dispatching several more droids. More soldiers in similar armor started to approach him, but without even as much as a greeting, they continued forward...except for the original trooper. The armored figure reached an arm out to the Lieutenant. Hesitating, he took the soldiers arms, and was hoisted up on his feet.

"Lieutenant, I need you and your men to fall back." The filters within the clone's helmet must have been older than modern filters, for his voice sounded much grainier than it needed to be. "My men will hold this position and force the droids back. We need your men to support us in five minutes for our counter push."

Before the Lieutenant could say a word, he looked at the rank patch of the clone trooper. A captain. "Captain, you're the Six-Sixty-Six, aren't you?" He had heard of them. The nine-hundred year old clones, and entire platoon. He thought they had just been a rumor. Yet, here he was, talking directly to a man in armor that did not belong in this age. "Can you...can you really hold them off?"

"Lieutenant, re-group your men. That's an order." Before the Lieutenant could even acknowledge the clone's orders, the Captain was already moving, rejoining his squad. He took a few seconds to watch. Sure enough, there were clones all over the hangar, fighting the droids. They weren't just holding them off, though. The clones...they were pushing the droids back. The Lieutenant quickly turned and started running back towards his own men, hoping to regroup with them and get the support for the Six-Sixty-Six ready. As he started to guide the surviving soldiers towards the back of the hangar near the barricades they set up, he quickly brought up the Republic files from his HUD. Hovering over the friendly call signs that appeared around him, he clicked on the icon representing the Captain he had just spoken to. "Nomad, huh?" Apparently, that was it. The file listed no actual name. Just "Captain Nomad". Wait...was that his actual name? He clicked several more icons while issuing out orders. Just like the Captain, all the clones had nicknames on their public records. Unless...unless the rumors were true. Did these men truly have no names? Who were these men?

That's when he realized something. The droids, they moved without fearing death. The clones....they moved exactly the same way.

Jaxton Ravos

Mindwalker of the Outer Rim
If you had told Jaxton Ravos a year ago that he'd be a Jedi Knight and would be helping evacuate Jedi Younglings and Padawans from Coruscant to some obscure planet that can only be hyperspace routed by the Force, he'd have bought you a ticket to the Corellia Asylum. But here he was, in another crazy day as a Jedi. In honesty, Jaxton hadn't gotten over the death of Teferi Efreet, but he had still moved on. He resolved to become stronger and never let someone die in his place again, but he didn't blame himself for it anymore. If he had gotten to the fight sooner the Sith Emperor would've killed both of them. But none of that mattered now, he was fighting a threat that seemed bigger than the Sith, and those less skilled and less trained needed his help.

"Come on Rodian, get to the ships! Run!" He screamed at a rodian youngling as he fought off Temple training droids. Because if Omni needed anything, he needed infected droids with lightsabers. Jaxton thought to himself. They really needed to get better cyber security on those things. Jedi Training droids were more lethal an Ubese bounty hunter. Jaxton slashed at one droid and decapitated the arm, then blanketed his arm in the Force and punched straight through another. It was a technique he had seen the new Grandmaster use in an oddly similar situation, and while Jaxton didn't have it nearly as polished as Master Wraith, he had a bit more muscle behind his punch. Not much, as the Grandmaster was an extremely strong man himself, but a little. He noticed as pulled his hand back that the Force aura around his hand was covered in some sort of micro-droid. He force pushed the microdroids away before removing his aura, making sure not to throw them in the direction of any of the younglings or himself. That could've been how Omni infected the droids, and he didn't want to play around with mysterious tech he didn't know about.

I'm going to save the Chancellor, any able bodied volunteers need to meet me there as well. If not, proceed to Tython, that is an order. Jaxton heard the Grandmaster's voice ring inside of his head, and knew what he needed to do.

"Leona, take this ship to Tython. Make sure everyone get's home alive. I've got work to do." Jaxton yelled at the most experienced padawan he was shuffling into evacuation ships. Jaxton then ran over to the hanger bay, heading straight for a U-Wing fighter. He fought a couple more training droids along the way, but dispensed of them easily. He was lucky none of them had been set to 'Master' setting before the takeover. Jaxton entered the U-Wing and took off, headed for the Senate Building.

The flight was strange, to say the least. Normally Coruscant's airspace seemed to be more populated with cars than a human was with cells, but now the streets were emptier than the Dune Sea of Tattoine. Even more horrifying, was the darkness cast over them, from the sheer amount of droids in the skies. Jaxton began looking at the fighter's controls, and set the ship to detonate in 45 seconds. Help me down Grandmaster. Jaxton sent out a message through the Force to @[member="Darron Wraith"], who he saw land and begin fighting Omni's army moments ago. He pointed his ship upwards to the droid-filled sky over the senate building, began turning his ship around in circles like an arrow in flight, then jettisoned himself out towards the ground and began reducing his fall speed. Jaxton was a strong Jedi, but he was not the best telekinetic. He really hoped the Grandmaster got his message.

Zev fell back onto the hard floor and looked back to the senator, his golden eyes lit with the fires of hatred for the man. His droids had stopped shaking and their eyes were red as they went into the reboot stage. If Zev was lucky the droids wouldn't have to severe of damage to their core systems and could end this sorry excuse for a leader. Zev flipped onto his hands and knees and tried to get up, but he could feel the bruise in his stomach and he could barely get to his feet. So, instead, he leaped for his blaster pistol that had fallen to the floor when Brunswick lobbed the EMP grenade at him. His hands graced the handle and he spun onto his back to take aim at the Senator.

Darren Brunswick could tell he had seriousely done some damage to the old man infront of him. He did not feel too sympathetic on the matter, especially since Zev seemed quite determined to kill him. He blinked in suprise when the malfunctioning droids started casting a red glow, probably rebooting. With a quick pull of trigger, Brunswick managed to shoot down at least one one of the two B2 droids by shooting it squarely on its face. That was all the time that he was allowed however, before he had to quickly retreat to the back of the statue for Stargo had aimed his blaster pistol at him. As he hid behind the statue, he reloaded his pistol once more, ready to take down the other B2 droid and hopefully capture Zev.

Zev unleashed a hail of fire from his pistol just as the second B2 powered up. He shook for a second before straightening and looking at the direction of Zev's rounds. It was obvious that the droid was having trouble acquiring his target, its left arm was also dangling at its side so it must have had some mobility issues thanks to the grenade. Zev fired a few more rounds at the statue before reloading and taking cover on the other side of it as his B2 worked out that it needed to be firing at Brunswick

"Just join us Brunswick, accept it that Omni is here to give us all true freedom! The Republic will never be the Democracy that you want, it will always be an oppressive pit of scum unless we embrace evolution!" Zev shouted as his droid began to fire at the Brunswick. The rapid fire mechanism must have also been damaged as each shot was a slow like a pistol round.
