Coruscant, a planet of lights, life, and luxury. A planet where those of the upper class have not a care in the words, even so shortly after the Gulag plague. The people of Coruscant seemed to care for nothing, they went about their daily lives in their grand city. Some worked, some partied, some did both. Coruscant was a world of dreams, some of those dreams were nightmares, and others were just plain fantasy. No matter what however, Coruscant was considered safe. No force in the universe could threaten Coruscant, The Republic protected it, its fleets guarding against all invaders. All but one of course, a threat that they could never foresee.
As always the planet of Coruscant was alight, people were gathered, lights were shinning and everyone was active as always. The greatest marketplace in the universe was a bustle with activity, massive crowds were gathered shopping at dozens of stores. Husbands, wives, children and hundreds of others walked around the central hub of activity. They were entirely lost within their own little worlds, the lights of Coruscants artificial sun shinning brightly. Suddenly something flickered. The lights of the exchange flashed and burned out, the screens blackening for a few seconds then coming back. The crowds stopped, and silence fell over the entire area. They watched as the lights went out, slowly each and every bulb burning into blackness.
Coruscant was in one massive wave plunged into absolute darkness. Every screen, every sign, everything that emitted even an ounce of light was was suddenly shut off. Speeders and ships fell from the sky, travel lanes shut down, entire buildings were thrown into chaos. Coruscant became darkness, a world filled with screams of terror and doubt. The planet was plunged into absolute disarray in a matter of second.
For almost an hour, nothing happened. Engineer's tried to restore power, police attempted to keep order, soldiers were deployed planet wide, and families huddled together. Then, after what seemed like an age had passed, a flicker of activity appeared on the holo-net screens around the world. Every device capable of playing video or emitting a sound was suddenly switched back on. An image appeared on them, hundreds of thousands of screen began to play the same message, each one spewing a voice of pure dread and terror, each one showing a machine with a red eye staring at the denizens of Coruscant.

Then Coruscant was plunged into darkness once again. For a brief few minutes all one could see on the world of Coruscant were the star's in the sky, then something broke within the world. The ground shook, several hundred buildings across the city well apart. From them dispersed massive clouds of black. They spewed forth, filling the sky and blackening out what little light remained from the skies above.
The cloud simmered and shifted, moving about as if it were alive. Coruscant Security shined lights upon the clouds, massive search lights powered by independent power sources. The spotlight illuminated the cloud and revealed it for what it was. Millions upon millions of black winged droids floated within the skies. Their red-orange eyes looked down onto the planet, the droids stared at the world below each one watching and waiting for a command. The cloud stared downward, and then a sound broke the sky.
All across Coruscant a massive droning broke the sky, and the cloud began to rain down on the world of Coruscant. Millions of droids fell from the sky, swooping down and beginning a slaughter of untold proportions.
Coruscant was not the only world however. Every major capital began to swarm with droids. Dromund Kaas, Corellia, Fondor. Every world with a size able population met the ire of Omni. Trillions of droids streamed into the galaxy like a black mass rending the heavens.
