OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

Intent: To create a very fast, potentially dangerous hyperdrive for a forthcoming project. Also to take advantage of an obvious canonical loophole that many overlook.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Manufacturer: Runi Verin
Affiliation: Stellarwind R&L
Model: Brokarra-class Hyperdrive
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material: Dallorian Alloy, Haysian Smelt, Kif, Titanium-Chromium Alloy, Quadranium, Misc Hyperdrive Components

SPECIAL FEATURES

Extreme Superluminal Speed
Mass Shadow Denial

STRENGTHS

The Need For Speed: Drive has been nominally rated at an impressive Class 0.25, although it is suspected a force sensitive individual well versed in Instinctive Astrogation could perhaps push it even a touch further.
Saving AvCoins On The Cred: Built for extremely long range travel, the drive is very fuel efficient and highly economical.
Red Line Overload: Unaffected by mass shadows, interdiction fields, gravitational anomalies, etc.

WEAKNESSES
Highway To The Danger Zone: Drive notably lacks any form of automatic gravity failsafe or inhibitor that would normally prevent a hyperdrive from colliding with a planet, sun, celestial body, etc.
The Hotter The Intensity: Drive requires an extensive cooldown period of at least an hour between jumps, making it wholly unsuited to microjumps or similar such tactics.

DESCRIPTION

Considered to be her own personal magnum opus in the field of hyperspace travel, the Brokarra Hyperdrive is the culmination of decades of technical expertise and hard earned hands on experience condensed into one singular project. Due to being constructed for something of clearly immense mass and size, every single component had to be custom designed and fashioned exclusively for purpose, with countless weeks spent tuning and adjusting to find an exact balance between performance and reliability.
In contrast to those found on the open market, the Brokarra noticeably lacks many of the safeguards and limiters normally associated with hyperdrives, making every jump incredibly dangerous if not outright suicidal. This does, however, make it less constrained by conventional rules, most notably its ability to ignore the effects of mass shadows, naturally occurring or otherwise. You can’t trick an automatic failsafe into tripping if there is no failsafe to begin with after all.
It has also enabled Runi to achieve an incredibly impressive base speed for the drive, with initial testing placing its superluminal speed at a conservative Class 0.25 benchmark.
