The Spacepiress of Chaos
The Braxant Marches:Thalassocracy:
(from Greek language θάλασσα (thalassa), meaning "sea", and κρατεῖν (kratein), meaning "to rule", giving θαλασσοκρατία (thalassokratia), "rule of the sea") is a state with primarily maritime realms—an empire at sea (such as the Phoenician network of merchant cities) or a sea-borne empire.
The term thalassocracy can also simply refer to naval supremacy, in either military or commercial senses of the word supremacy. The Greeks first used the word thalassocracy to describe the government of the Minoan civilization, whose power depended on its navy.
Hegemony:
(UK /hᵻˈɡɛməni/ or /ˈhᵻdʒɛməni/, US /hᵻˈdʒɛməni/ or /ˈhᵻdʒɛmoʊni/; Greek: ἡγεμονία hēgemonía, "leadership, rule") is the political, economic, or military predominance or control of one state over others. In Ancient Greece (8th century BCE – 6th century CE), hegemony denoted the politico–military dominance of a city-state over other city-states. The dominant state is known as the hegemon.
Meritocracy:
(merit, from Latin mereō "I earn" and -cracy, from Ancient Greek κράτος kratos "strength, power") is a political philosophy holding that power should be vested in individuals almost exclusively based on ability and talent. Advancement in such a system is based on performance measured through examination and/or demonstrated achievement in the field where it is implemented.
A Hegemony of allied city-states located along the Braxant Run and the Braxant Sector; giving its name to the organization as a whole. The Braxant Marches is the response to the loss of the Primeval and to the Chaos, Destruction and Pain that the Primeval enacted upon the inhabitants of those worlds they once reigned over. It is the alliance of those without the Force seeking to govern themselves and to ensure that those who use the Force will not abuse it or hold them beneath their yolk.
The Braxant Marches focuses upon three aspects as defined above.
The Hegemony, the political and administrative influence of the Braxtant Marches over their neighboring worlds bringing with them peace and order in a time of turmoil and conflict.
The Meritocracy, the system of which one gains their position from their merit, their ability to lead or their expertise in a given position or area of knowledge. Thus an individual gains from their ability alone, not their money, relations or other such factors.
The Thalassocracy, the might of their naval power, both militaristic and economical. Securing their borders and the allied worlds within the Marches through the use of a superior navy; with each individual world responsible for their own ground forces; supplemented by forces provided by the central authority of the Hegemon.
Additional aspects of the Braxant Marches are the primary desire of focusing upon Non-Force Users; with the Order of the Righteous Flame acting to the Braxant Marches as the Jedi Order was to the Galactic Republic.
The Parliament (Senate; High Council, etc etc); the organizational administration with one individual representing one world of the Hegemony.
In terms of those that are requested to place their effort into this idea are preferably those of Non-Force Users, specifically Fleeters and Merchants.
However that is not to say that others are not welcome, or that the idea of a Dragon Age Templar style focus of watching Force Users is out of the question of being developed.
Yet, for the moment this is a faction to focus upon Non-Force Users, those individuals more often than naught to be the ones taken advantage of or otherwise enslaved or subjected to the power of Force Users. The location chosen, that being in the territory of the former Primeval Faction is by design, to develop and discover the stories of those Non-Force Users that did not support the Primeval and were forced under its reign.
Though, as this is a discussion to garner and gauge the interest of such a faction, I am requesting that individuals remain to the primary focus.
The main inspiration is derived from the Phoenicians, Ancient Carthage, the Minoans and the Delian League and the Free Marches from Dragon Age.
Please do not run the discussion off track with gifs, or by stating how the Primeval was better, or other such grievances or posts denoting such views that the Braxant Marches is not suitable for the region.
Beyond that, please, discuss the merits; the pros and cons of such a faction, or your interest in seeing such a thought implemented.
