GENERAL INFORMATION
Holocron NameThe Book of Stories
AlignmentNeutral
OriginJedi Master Odan-Urr
AffiliationAmelia von Sorenn

Gatekeeper
Jedi Master Odan-Urr was a long-lived Draethos Male who served the Jedi Order of the Old Republic and was responsible for the founding of the Great Jedi Library on Ossus. A Jedi who preferred to read and study rather than focus on combat, his appearance as Gatekeeper is very much similar to how he appeared during his time as a Jedi Master. Like all Draethos, Jedi Master Odan-Urr's appearance was marked by what appears to be an overbite due to the species' teeth growing outside of their mouths and lacking lips which further exaggerated this appearance. Each of his hands ends in four digits that resemble claws, and his skin is grey in color, whilst his eyes differ from the standard Draethos coloring as they are blue rather than black. In his role as Gatekeeper of the Book of Stories, Jedi Master Odan-Urr also appears in his traditional Jedi Robes that were common at the time and consisted of an ornate chest and shoulder piece with a blue hooded cloak and what appears to be an armored belt that covers the waist and upper legs.

Description
The Book of Stories appears as an ornate book hand-carved from Aurodium and inlaid with various gems of varying sizes and kept closed by two clasps located on the right-hand side. The cover is engraved with images depicting scenes from other stories and stylized images of four elements - earth, wind, fire, and water. When opened, the pages appear to be made from a fine velum though are made from the same organic crystal-lattice present in Datacrons and Holocrons. At the center of the book set in the middle of the page is a semi-opaque Corusca Gem in which the Gatekeeper Resides and from which the stories appear. The purpose of the Book of Stories is to collect Stories, Tales, Legends, and Myths to be enjoyed by others.

DEFENSES

Accessibility
An individual gains access to the Book of Stories through three steps. The first step is to open the book so that the Corsuca Gem in the center of the book is clearly visible and unobstructed. The second step is to look through the table of contents and find the story that an individual wishes to read - either to themselves or out loud. The third step is to speak the special incantation words "Once Upon a Time, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away".

Security
The Book of Stories is kept secured by its Gatekeeper Jedi Master Odan-Urr though it has no overt means of defense or security that would prevent an individual from accessing or otherwise opening the book. The only true piece of security within the Book is its Gatekeeper, and even then that only extends to what can be described as a "Parental Lock" to prevent individuals from accessing stories that are otherwise too frightening or inappropriate for the audience present.

CONTENT INFORMATION
The Book of Stories contains a myriad of stories that are often associated with and themed for the Holidays that occur in the Autumnal and Wintry Seasons on various planets throughout the Galaxy. Many of these stories seem to feature notable individuals who are well-known in the area that the Book is currently residing within. The Book of Stories is also known to continuously add new stories, tales, myths, and legends to its contents and appears to have the knowledge of which stories have already been read to prevent a story from being told a second time to the same audience - unless specifically requested.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Book of Stories was originally created by the Jedi Master Odan-Urr during the height of the Old Jedi Order located on Ossus, with its creation coinciding with the creation of the Great Jedi Library of Ossus that was also founded by Jedi Master Odan-Urr. The purpose of creating the Book of Stories was to create a special Datacron that any individual could access to further inspire the same love of Reading and Studying that the Jedi Master had for the subject. The inspiration for the contents within the Book was the bright smiles and laughter that children often experience when hearing those special holiday-themed stories that were related across the Galaxy by parents just before bedtime.

Events leading up to the possession of the Book of Stories by Amelia von Sorenn are unknown, though the Book was first seen in the Galaxy again after thousands of years when the woman took time out of her schedule to sit in a library on Naboo and read to children. It is likely that the Book of Stories had been recently acquired by the Library or discovered among the many shelves prior to the arrival of her intended audience. Since the first reading of the Book of Stories during the height of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Amelia has kept the Book of Stories with her and often takes the book out to read to new audiences when the Holidays roll around and both the Factory and Codex take a break.
