Mire & Illus Auction House
Vorzyd V

Since the Great Holocron Auction of Contruum there has never been such a vast collection of high-profile artifacts. As to be expected, the Auction House was exceedingly well guarded. Word sent out to names of note and otherwise - the Blackguard Auction had been marketed to the galaxy at large. The theme? Fittingly black-tie-black-dress. No weapons were permitted but plenty of top-shelf alcohol would be available to assuage those perturbed by the rule.

A venerable and smartly-dressed Whiphid bearing an uncanny resemblance to a certain unmentionable took the podium, squinting out onto the crowd.

"Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished bidders. A few words of note."

Perhaps a few in attendance would feel the cool chill of deja vu.

"All lots on auction tonight have been verified for authenticity by field experts. Bidding will proceed as follows: all lots and their current standing bids will be displayed on your screens. Please bid electronically - your name and bid will be displayed as it is entered. Bids will be accepted in the form of credits or other assets of value. There is no starting bid for any lot. You may bid on as many lots as you like. Credit checks will be made at the discretion of the lot owners - those that do not pass the check will be removed from the active bidders list."

She was never big on social gatherings, but the opportunity to claim a rare artifact of some sort held just enough appeal for her to try her hand at the auction. She walked around looking at the various items up for bid, some seemed useful for her while others held but a fleeting glance. When she arrived at lot S, she halted in her tracks, her eyes gleaming over with delight. Turning toward the man holding this event, she raised her hand up to be noticed then remember the rules.
"One million credits for former Emperor Palpatine's lightsaber," she thought to herself would make a fitting bid.
Regardless of she won it, there where still two others that she wished to lay claim upon. After thinking about it, she shrugged her shoulders and raised her hand a second time, again failing to recall the rules. She was getting overzealous in her old age.
"Fifty-thousand credits for the holocron labeled Darth Kaiser and Twenty-five thousand for the Sith Nova Holocron," again came the thought of a proper bid.
Casually she strolled around imputing the information in the datapad.
Lot S: Bid 1,000,000 Credits
Lot V: Bid 50,000 Credits
Lot X: 25,000 Credits

Lot Y: Holocron labeled "Master Wyzen"

Now that...that could come in handy. Raised on the Great Holocron's records and the tales of Tionne, Mara had heard the name before, and a story or two. Jem Wyzen was no joke.

Fortunately, neither were Mara's resources. She might not like to access those resources -- she'd spent years determining what to do with them, and hadn't quite decided -- but she'd inherited non-negligible percentages of some of the galaxy's largest corporations. She'd leveraged those assets a time or two, at need. This struck her as an appropriate use of her good fortune. If she really wanted to go all out, she could aim to keep some of the Dark Side artifacts contained, but she'd wait and see who else on the angels' side was bidding for them.

Electronically, she bid the following for Lot Y: cr100,000 and a set of premium, proprietary star maps from Baobab Astrography, detailing obscure and useful little hyperroutes and bolt-holes. A thousand years' worth of nearly inaccessible storage for any kind of trophy or research base.

As bids went, it wasn't earthshaking, but it might raise an eyebrow.

Ashin Varanin

Professional Enabler
After some deliberation, the scruffy-looking Mando at the back of the room shouldered forward and put in a bid for Lot H, the five Roonstones.

For Lot H, Clan Rekali bids the original expedition notebook kept by the time-sensitive guide who led Rave Merrill and Jared Ovmar into the monolith at the heart of the Chiloon Rift.

She ambled back to her place by the wall, and folded her arms with a scrape of duraplast on duraplast. That had been a bad expedition, and her grandfather had been on the original mission that claimed those Roonstones. You could say they had enough sentimental value to justify getting rid of an unpleasant memory. The old man would be pleased as punch if she brought those home to roost. Only way it'd go over better would be if she swung by Roon and picked up some real live mudmen.

Ultimatum was intrigued to say the least. There were interesting things for sale here. The one unfortunate fact for him was that it was mostly Force related materials. He did however want to know some of these things about the Force. He had always been interested in Holocrons, such strange objects.

He looked through the list and input his bid. "One million credits on Lot A, Nox Holocron. One million credits on Lot K, Alchemy: Chrystallergy."

With that Ultimatum calmly watched the listings, he began to try and predict bids on particularly valuable items. It would be interesting to see what people would pay for some of these things.

Coren was seeing the list of the lots, there were a few things he could use, a few he could definitely throw at the Sith. That one that Mara was going after was important, but... he had his sights set on other things. The only hope was that he could claim authenticity and that it hadn't been copied. Checking his funds from Silk, the Alliance and a few investments he'd made over the years (it was fun what CDs did when you were in stasis for nearly two decades) he threw down 25K on Lot U.

He had plans for that.

Oh, did he have plans.

Betna normally didn't bother with auctions, much less auctions of artifacts and the like. This one, however, was a bit more interesting. Some of the items were holocrons, but others were datacrons or useful items, albeit rare ones. A few caught his eye and he figured he'd toss in a bid. What he couldn't find useful, perhaps others could.

He picked up his datapad from the table before him and punched in a few bids. With luck, he might actually win something.

Lot D - 100,000cr
Lot I - 100,000cr
Lot N - 1x Beskar-plated Chaavla Revolver

He figured the belt would be a nice addition to his gear and he knew for a fact his wife could put the cloaking tech to good use. The hat just looked neat and he figured it'd be a nice little trophy to wear around the clan farms when he was home.

A dark-clad figure emerged from the shadows, mask over his face and hood pulled over his eyes. His force presence was shrunk down to the size of an atom, so as to not alert anyone of the presence of a Sith. The Sith assassin was under his second identity, Rhodes, who was a very wealthy crime boss of the Triad. He pulled out his datapad, and electronically submitted his bids.

Lot L- 100,000 credits.
Lot M- 75,000 credits.

Ostanes shrugged as he sat back after entering the bids. There was a wide spread, to be sure, and some were passing curiosities... Others... Other contained information and power the galaxy at large should not have... The Soulsaber he let be.... The cruel and twisted part of him almost looked forward to that which it would do when released to the Galaxy.

Rhodes glanced at his database, an alert had come up that he had already been outbid on the mask. This was hardly of any concern, as he had quite some funds to dip in to. Being a crime Lord paid off after all.

Lot L- 400,000 credits. [member="Ostanes"]

Cute... Let us see if the plebian children don't mind letting the adults play, hmmm? Being the owner of a company richer than most Empires paid off, afterall..

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
Popo wasn't quite sure what to do at this point. One minute he'd been in line for McYoda's, the next he found himself in a room with lots of well dressed and oddly dressed people, and someone at the front was calling out prices that kept changing. He knew an auction house when he saw one, he'd run a few in his time, but at the moment it seemed the exit had disappeared and his stomach kept growling and growling.

So much for the four dozen happy meals he had wanted.

He turned to try and ask where the doors were when something seemed to grab him by the stomach and pulled him to a stop. The massive Hutt frowned for a moment. That had never happened before. It was almost as if his stomach, growling as it was, was forcing him to stay.

Still frowning in confusion, he looked up at the front of the room in the direction the pull had come from. Many artifacts and people where there, most obviously wealthy or equally obviously sketchy looking. His eye caught something glint briefly and his stomach growled loudly and ominously. It wasn't food, but apparently... something wanted him to try for it and his stomach seemed to be responding in kind. Maybe... Maybe if he bid on it, that something would let him leave to get his happy meals...

"Lot T, two Hotshuh-class MBTs, two Skocha MBTs!" came Popo's bellow from the back of the room.

[member="Dissero"]

The crime lord frowned at this. Apparently, this [member="Ostanes"] character really wanted the mask. Someone willing to bid 5 million on such an item must have a major use for it. Given the mask's properties, the seemingly intuitive assassin guessed this character had something to hide. He would look into it later, but he currently had more pressing matters to tend to. He already knew how to conceal both his physical and force presence, making the mask much less useful. He would instead save his money for some of the other items that were available.

Ultimatumm watched as people began bidding quickly, certain items simply jumping with almost no reason. It was surprising, though not unforeseen. He smiled as he looked at the counter bid to his own. He thought he recognized the name. Ah, of course, that other auction that Ultimatum had taken part in and the nice gathering that had taken place awhile ago. It had been nice enough, though he didn't seem to recall the outcome of that.... what was the word he had seen. It had been a very unique word.... gala. Yes that sounded right.

Ultimatum wondered, he had no direct use of this crystallurgy, after all he was not a Force sensitive. However, he could learn from the information and begin to piece together history when that had been a problem. He could remember there being something about that, some time ago when creatures had been put through the method of whatever this was and that it had created a disaster. Certainly no organic needed this information. It would be destroyed after he memorized it. While information which was bad would need to be destroyed, it need not be lost. He could keep it safe within his databanks.

2,000,000 credits Lot K

He smiled, he doubted he had the funds that [member="Ostanes"] had. If it turned out to be a wasted effort he would pull out. He would not bankrupt a rich planet or his still burgeoning company. He had money mostly from his own exploits. He had saved up carefully, choosing times like now where objects of inherent danger and value arose. He had guessed that the other items would soon become entrenched in much greater bids and thus he had played for the ones he was most interested in and he had bid.

  • Lot G - 1x Durindfire Crystal: c10,000
Julius might not be as rich as some of these folks, but he had come to see what curiosities were there, perhaps any relics of Corellia and its' past. And indeed, he had found at least one such sentimental connection, and so, he had entered a moderate starting bid just to see. No need to go too crazy. Besides, he was quite enjoying the martini - Bespin made gin was such a rarity to find now-a-days it seemed. And he knew for a fact he wore this suit better than half the crowd, even if he did feel awkward without the lightsaber he always wore at his hip.

Saran stood in the back, feeling nauseous. She wasn't entirely sure why, but her vision was blurred. She could barely look at the auction site. Something up there was messing with her vision. And there seemed to be a point of dark power radiating from the stage. Right from....

"David, what's lot T?" She asked the man standing next to her. David was her "date" for the evening., as Dawn had put it. He was one of the suppliers from the GLC, and when she had mentioned going to this auction, he had asked to come along. Apparently he collected artifacts, and as much as she disliked that hobby for the dangers of Sith creations, she had brought him along. May as well, she had reasoned. Plus, having someone who wasn't Force-Sensitive was useful.

"It says it's the Soulsaber. Some powerful Dark Side Lightsaber. Want it?" He replied, tapping in on the datapad he held.

Deep within her, something begged for it, pleaded to have it. The twisted, damaged part of her was desperate for it. But the rest of her was repulsed by it. And she couldn't even look at it. "It's messing with my eyes. I don't think me owning it would be particularly healthy." she responded. Looking around for a chair, she sat down, resting both arms on her knees to support herself. "I think I'll look into some of the other lots."

"Even if you did want it, you wouldn't be able to afford it. Someone just bid a star destroyer." He said, tapping on the datapad. "Anything else catch your eye?" He paused, confused, when she chuckled, then added quickly, "Er.. so to speak."

She gave him a smile. "I wouldn't mind The Durindfire crystal. Or the Roonstones, although those are less practical..." Her voice trailed off, seeming to be thinking about something.

"The Roonstones have a bid I can't quantify. Is just the Durindfire okay?" He asked, and she nodded. As he typed, she seemed to slowly be recovering from whatever seemed to have hit her earlier. "You doing okay?"

"I'm getting used to that saber thing. It's annoying."

(15,000 on the Durinfire crystal)
