The ballad of Stone

Rage watched as Ra’a’mah adorned the throne and he thought it slightly comical. Her small frame adorning such an large thing.

“I can think of no one better for such a throne. It’s too bad we can’t stay here forever. If I could I would never leave this place. I would stop the moon and stars, so that we could, I could, be here with you forever,” Rage stared deeply into the woman’s eyes… They appeared hungry. Rage probed her mind and found her wanting. For what he could not tell, but he secretly hoped it was for him.

“But, alas you are right. Their are greater powers in motion that we must abide…” Rage said as he walked past the throne and began to continue through the halls of the temple.

“If you were a follower of the dark there's so much I could teach you Ra… If only you were mine,” Rage said as he fingered his chest.

“This crystal is but a symptom of the power I wield. The pinnacle of all I know,” Rage studied Ra from the corner of his eye as he walked along patiently waiting to see how she reacted. The throne made her lustful, but for what Rage had yet to determine, but in this place of Darkness where power reigned supreme it wasn’t to hard to guess.

“If I have mastered immortality imagine what else I know. The millennia have taught me much. All you have to do is ask Ra and it can all be yours,” Rage finished finally.

Ra felt Rage's eyes on her, she felt him reach out with the Force and shut her thoughts away, but he now knew she wanted something.

"Isn't the moon already stopped?"

Her voice was light in speaking this, at least he agreed they needed to move further into the temple. Time waited for nobody.

Taking up her position behind and to his left she listened to his words. He was still trying to tempt her to the dark side and she narrowed her eyes at him.

"There are still things you can teach, even if I'm not a follower of the sith path."

Tipping her head to look up at him, she stopped walking for a moment. Carefully considering her words before she spoke, Ra got a look of deep thought on her face.

"What knowledge can you offer me that won't turn me into a mindless husk of my old self?"

“Aside from how to love?” Rage said as he heard the woman’s words. “I can show you how to heal those close to you,” Rage made no mention of how difficult it was to learn this power “Even bring people back from death,” He turned to face the woman and placed a hand to his chin. He contemplated teaching the Ra this. He knew he would do it regardless… He simply couldn’t say no to her.

“In your tongue it is called Dark Transfer and it is easiest learn when one embraces the dark, but their have been rare cases of a lightsider learning it,” Rage said as the hand fell from his chin. “But, these lessons would be for another time,” Rage said as he continued through the temple.

The pair approached a flight of steps and Rage could sense the beast beyond. Rage thought it poetic. A knight slaying a dragon for his queen. He was disgusted with himself. He had only wanted to sway her to the darkside, now he couldn’t help but feel something more. Perhaps it was the fact that he had been alone for three thousand years. Long enough to make anyone crave a companion. Whatever it was he couldn’t help but feel something.

"Love isn't real. A fabrication of people and something not meant for me."

Ra spoke this hardly even thinking about it. His words washed over her and certainly got her interest. However, bringing somebody back from the dead was out the window. There were reasons people died and she wasn't going to go against a great power than her to fight that.

"Of course for another time. We have a beast to slay and a treasure to find. Or something along those lines."

The feeling of the something, again she could not place a finger on what, was becoming stronger. A set of stairs was in front of the leading upward and the source of her feeling emanated from above them.

She looked at Rage and waited for him to lead the way. He held the light after all.

Rage listened to the woman’s words and felt pity for her. He wondered who could’ve wronged her so that she would say such a thing. Rage’s heart might have been made of stone, but at least he had one.

“Do you believe that or are you just scared? How many crooks tried to steal your heart? How many moments didn’t last forever? Well Ra, you’d soon find that forever is all I have and if it takes an eternity, if I teach you one thing, it’ll be how to love,” Rage paused as he continued up the steps “I just want you to know you deserve the best, you’re beautiful,”

He crested the top of the steps as he finished and he could here a great shuddering wind like that of a beast breathing. It was just within the other room. Rage peeked round the corner and spotted the reptile. It was curled up around a large stone dais. Atop the dais sat a large scepter and Rage wondered how they might retrieve it from the beast. “Any ideas?” He asked Ra’a’mah

They walked up the stairs side by side. Ra could easily reach out and touch Rage. His words almost made her want to cry. This Sith could read her better than anybody and she didn't know why. She always kept her emotions close, but somehow he picked up on them. Was that natural for a sith- his race or his call? As he finished speaking, the came to the top of the stairs and now she did reach out to him.

Ra took one of his hands within hers and looked up at him. His lightsaber illuminated her face. Perhaps in the red glow he might see the small amount of tears in her eyes, though she wasn't crying.

"I am scared. Never allowed anybody close to my heart."

She raised his hand and placed it on her chest, her other hand lifted to the side of his face.

"The one person I did, died. We weren't lovers, he was more like a father for me. As I grew up, nobody adopted me. I was a wild looking child with the eyes of a wolf. Nobody ever tried to steal my heart and I never missed it. I learned to take care of myself and well", she shrugged her shoulders slightly, "here I am I guess. I'm sure I can learn to love since I don't know what it is."

Looking over her shoulder at the sleeping beast.

"In olden times didn't dragons like virgins? Maybe I can tame him."

She said it in jesting voice, but the thought did cross her mind.
