    The Attendants

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Group Name: The Attendants
  • Classification: Hyperspace Navigators
  • Headquarters: Imperial Palace, Bastion
  • Loyalties: The Sith Empire
  • Group Sigil: The Attendants' most common symbol is that of an one hundred and thirty-five degree isotoxal star inside of a violet sphere bordered by silver waves. It is often rumored that the symbol itself represents the eyes of the unknown alien species that comprise the Attendants, but being as no one has ever seen one of them out of their secretive garb, it is impossible to verify.

[*]Description: The Attendants hail from an ancient alien race in the Unknown Regions whose civilization was laid low by the Vashtorin centuries ago. Before their civilization was destroyed, the Attendants prided themselves on their ability to accurately chart the heavens beyond their homeworld. They blazed trails and documented planets throughout the Unknown Regions, endlessly wandering until they were found and recruited by Kaine Zambrano.

Now the Attendants serve his will directly, supplying him with their species' ancient knowledge of hyperspace navigation and accurately detailed maps of the Unknown Regions.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: There is no official hierarchy among the Attendants, though they have appointed one -- the Quaestor -- to act as their intermediary to the Sith Emperor.
  • Membership: There are around only forty Attendants within the Sith Emperor's employ, and are comprised only of the highly secretive alien race from which they hail.
  • Dogma/Doctrines: Not much else is known about the Attendants except their fanatic devotion to navigation and astronomy. Some are talented inventors, having designed and constructed ocular devices that the Emperor uses to observe distant events.
  • Curios: The Attendants don't hold much stock in trinkets or baubels, but they are easily identifiable by their dark purple robes reminiscent of the Imperial advisors of old, and their amplification goggles that assist their naturally weak eyes.
  • Goals:
To chart out the galaxy in its entirety
  • Discover routes that could lead to other galaxies

MEMBERS
  • The Quaestor: The Attendants' unofficial leader, the eldest and most knowledgeable of the ancient alien race. He interacts directly with the Sith Emperor, and relays his demands and desires down to the rest of the Attendants.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

In ages past the Attendants belonged to a mute highly advanced chitinous alien race that existed deep within the outer recesses of the Unknown Regions, a tract of the galaxy that remained wholly mysterious to the inhabitants of the populated galaxy. Deep in their kingdom, these aliens forged a utopia built on advanced quantum mechanics and astronomy; exploring more of the Unknown Regions than the entire galaxy had in over twenty five thousand years.

But their utopia would not last.

An Empire of dark Shards known as the Vashtorin Ascendancy descended upon the lands of the Attendants, and burned their worlds to ash and salted the scorched earth. Billions died in what would become known to the survivors as the Terrible Scourge, with those that had evaded the butcher's blade using their advanced knowledge of hyperspace to flee where the Vashtorin could not follow.

Over the centuries the Attendants' numbers would dwindle, numbering only in the hundreds by the end of the Four Hundred Year Darkness. They remained detached from the politics of the modern era, quietly keeping to themselves in the Unknown Regions as they sought to continue their species' work.

Until they were discovered by the Sith.

Kaine Zambrano first came across the Attendants while charting his own map of the Unknown Regions during the height of the One Sith Empire, and after realizing the full potential of these mysterious aliens he conscripted them into his service. They were given the latest and greatest navigational technology that the Empire could produce, and in return they gave Zambrano their own maps of the Unknown Regions and beyond. Zambrano used these charts to plunder the Unknown Regions for his own personal gain, noting areas that could eventually prove useful to the Sith.

When the One Sith Empire crumbled, Zambrano took with him the Attendants and their charts to serve him in a new Empire he would forge in the Tingel Arm.
