The Ashla Reformation

In light of the fact that some characters just won't be able to join us right off the bat, because of age old prejudice, we are creating the Division of Reclamation. Please read below to learn of their duties.

The Division of Reclamation
This is a division of Reformation Intelligence, reporting directly to its Director so as to bypass the ordinary red tape. The primary role of this branch of the military is to seek out Force practitioners and assess their capability of integration into Reformation society. It is expected that most of these individuals have been so ingrained in the galactic standard that they will not be readily open to joining a society that brings light and dark together. Much can be said for the bad blood that the galaxy has experienced over the years.

In their assessment of these individuals, there are four classifications of importance:

Green Flag: These are individuals that can already integrate into Reformation society. They typically understand the goal and agree with its necessity and have no problem working with anyone. More often than not, these individuals are not part of any current Order or Force Cult in the galaxy.

Yellow Flag: These are individuals that have shown a potential interest in integration in Reformation society, but may struggle to do so. They either identify this themselves, or the Division member recognizes it and Yellow Flags them so that further operatives can assist these individuals in overcoming their prejudices in order to facilitate their integration in society.

Red Flag: These are individuals who express no desire to integrate into Reformation society on the grounds that they refuse to work with one party or the other. These individuals are Red Flag, and are marked for careful observation until such time as dealing with them becomes necessary.

Black Flag: These are the most dangerous of individuals. Black Flag's are those people who, when approached, express a desire for violence, or for taking down the Reformation. While there may be fewer of these, a Black Flag necessitates an Intelligence Strike Force being sent to deal with the individual in question immediately and with finality.

Once someone has been flagged, they either integrate with society, or are sent to speak with special members of the Division that are trained in assisting people in overcoming the ingrained prejudice that the galaxy often experiences. These people will spend time with the person, helping them to understand why the Reformation is necessary, helping them with remorse, grief, or loss, and generally working with them to make them a productive member of society once more. This may take time, or it may not.

Additionally, those known to have committed mass atrocities within the galaxy (glassing worlds, genocide, mass murder) are always flagged as Black, even if they express a desire to join the Reformation. These people are never trusted to change.

The Strong will prevail.

The Weak will perish.

You but delay the inevitable.

(Also cool faction idea. Part of me is hoping this is a Sith plot to lure in naive Jedi with talk of neutral ground and then slowly corrupt them.)

The Force exists within all beings, not just those that can reach out with it. Part of our philosophy is that those who cannot touch the Force are just as essential to creating balance within the Force as those who practice the "light" and "dark" sides of the Force. We understand that there are people that don't like people that use the Force in the galaxy, but unfortunately you have to work with people that can touch it at some point. Not wanting to work with people is the root cause of galactic strife. So if you don't want to work with us just because we can touch the Force, you are contributing to the problem, rather than helping us fix it.

I briefly considered that option when the topic first came up in RP, but decided against it.

Oh, Aeshi can touch the Force alright. She's a Warden of the Sky. That's not so much the issue. For Aeshi, galactic society and governments are the problem more than anything else.

Ahh, ok. I understand now. But I ask this: if there are no galactic societies or governments, what stops anarchy from ruling the galaxy? At least with governments the chaos is somewhat controlled in some parts of the galaxy. The right government, with the right motivations, could theoretically control all of the chaos, could it not?

[member="Aeshi Tillian"]
Can you explain the perspective? A lack of controlling factor will always lead to chaos. Especially if there are humans anywhere around. Hiding in the frontier doesn't do anything to solve anything. The galaxy is still going to destroy itself around her.

Her parents were captured and presumably killed by the One Sith for working with the Underground. One Sith captured Aeshi on the same trip and tortured her for information that she didn't have. One Sith came to existence in order, by all appearances, to destroy the Republic. Alliance rose to destroy the One Sith. The amassing of resources and personnel directed towards military activity is what causes the chaos.

Out on the frontier, there's no government with the resources of hundreds of planets to turn into a military juggernaut. And if any come along, well, there's always more planets to move to. The galaxy might burn, but she doesn't have to be there.

So we're back to what I said about people like her being a contributing factor to the destruction of the galaxy. She'd rather run and hide than fight the necessary fight. A lack of responsibility. You'd just be considered a red flag to us. You don't want any part of us but you aren't seeking to destroy us either.

The reality is that war is necessary to end war. In some instances peace can be achieved diplomatically, and integration of worlds in the same manner, but not always. Sometimes force is required. Inevitably, the goal of the Reformation is to diplomatically assimilate, or conquer, every world in the galaxy (won't be obtained in these characters lifetimes, we understand this). So you could run, and for your lifetime you might remain hidden, but what good does that do anyone?

Always wanted to be a red flag.

She sees it this way: every war fought to end a war sparks another war. To fight another one will spark another one just a little further down the line. Fighting a war perpetuates the cycle. Sticking out on the frontier won't save the galaxy, but if she can spend her life away from the war, things are better that way.
