OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Media Name: The Art of Pylantian Cooking
  • Format: Book/Holobook
  • Distribution: Common
  • Length: Minuscule
  • Description: Arguably the most comprehensive collection of Pylantian recipes yet written, The Art of Pylantian Cooking collects the best dishes and cuisine from each of Pylos Satnik's numerous cultures.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Author: Ghizguth Ozuze
  • Publisher: Pylos Press
  • Reception: The Art of Pylantian Cooking is a bestseller on Pylos Satnik and has long been available in all of the planet's native languages. More recently it has been translated into Basic and made available to the galaxy at large. Many of the recipes have little appeal to non-Pylantians, but some have found a wider audience, especially among those with a taste for the unusual and eclectic.
FORMAT INFORMATION
The cookbook is divided into cuisine sections. Recipes are organized based on the culture from which they originated. Each recipe contains a full list of ingredients, detailed instructions, attractive photos and a few interesting facts about the dish's origins.

CONTENT INFORMATION
Most Pylantians subsist off of a variety of grains grown on the surface, high-protein mushrooms, and a selection of 'edible flowers'. These foods can be prepared in any number of ways, and each cultural group has their own unique takes, such as the Loodd recipe for sliced bisou (a type of citrus) dipped in mhari sauce, the Sashkatros cubeflower parfait, and the Brights' mashed sillem nyull (phosphorescent mushroom).

Critics have noted that Chef Ozuze shows a slight preference for sweet dishes, but overall the composition is very well-balanced and contains a wide variety of healthy and delicious foods. No recipes containing meat or animal products are featured, as most Pylantians are vegetarians.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The legendary Pylantian chef Ghizguth Ozuze spent decades traveling Pylos Satnik, collecting recipes and researching their history. It was his dream to make the very best of Pylantian food available to everyone regardless of their location, background, or skill level. While some readers were slightly miffed about their personal favorite dishes not making it into the book, for the most part The Art of Pylantian Cooking was a spectacular success, becoming a staple of not only aspiring chefs, but also amateur cooks looking to make above average meals for themselves and others.
